If I could give this Luthier a 10 star review, I would! Andy is a craftsman's, craftsman and top professional in his field in every way.

I took my Gibson Les Paul Standard to him in April of 2023 with a broken off headstock. When I say broken off, I mean OFF. The break was ugly too. It was a jagged break that had me convinced it was hopeless. After pretty much throwing up and feeling about as depressed as a man could be, I took my guitar to Andy at Pursell Lutherie. He gave me a more than reasonable estimate and told me with confidence that he believed he could restore my guitar to near original state. It took him a little more time than he originally thought, but I recently received the great news that he was finished working his magic. On my way to picking up my guitar, which by the way was a 50th birthday gift from my family, I was prepared for at least a low level of disappointment. After all, the darn headstock was completely broken off and like I said was not the cleanest break, putting it mildly. Long story short, Andy is an absolute miracle worker and I am forever grateful to him for his incredible effort, resolve and patience in rebuilding what I considered a lost cause. If your guitar needs to be repaired, do yourself a favor and take it to Andy. Not only will he fix what is broken, it will definitely be to your satisfaction.

I brought my two guitars in for some setup problems I was having with both. Andy was great help in diagnosing the problems, working with the instrument manufacturers to get the instruments repaired and replaced, and then finally getting them all set up and in excellent playing condition. Great work and really going the extra mile to look out for his customers!

Andrew that runs the shop is very pleasant to deal with, he's very fair with pricing on both ends buying and selling. He does not have the biggest selection but what he does have is a good selection

I had my Viola looked at as well as inquired about other instruments. They were so knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. They explained everything they were doing to fix my Viola as well as some tips and things to look out for. I can tell they are passionate about all string instruments. I would definitely recommend and will be making this my go-to string repair and purchase store.

Awesome music store. They sell and make a variety guitars, ukuleles and violins. Also has a cool little studio with window into workshop for music lessons (both string and vocal). Worth checking out even if you don't need a new 🎸

Andy and team are the best! After having them fix and set up a used strat I picked up, I was sold. I will never take any of my gear to the big-box "center" again. Andy and team will take you through the repairs/adjustments they did, in detail and answer any questions you may have. I now have had them repair & set up three of my guitars and each one came back to me looking amazing and sounding even better. I now go there for lessons too. Overall, a great local business that I am happy to give my business to. Definitely give them a try!

I would highly recommend this shop for anyone seeking outstanding customer service, a great selection of instruments, or expert repairs. Andy absolutely saved me (and the gig) with a short notice pickup install on my upright. Despite being close to closing time for the shop, Andy did the install and let me test it out on his PA. If you’re a string player of any sort definitely check out this shop, a great place to get a fresh set-up on your instrument or buy your new rig!

I took my Solar guitar in to have stainless steel frets put in to replace my nickel ones. First, let me say they are very professional and respectful to your needs very friendly. I was told it would take a couple weeks to complete, I took it in on a Saturday and called to check how things were going on Thursday. They were so helpful and informative about my project and said feel free to call anytime. I got it back in a week, very pleased. Andy did a beautiful job. This is my shop from now on for any guitar equipment or work needed. Very reasonable prices also. I Highly recommend Bayberry Music to anyone looking for a good music shop. I acquired a 1953 Gibson J45 that was found in an attic in royal oak. The guitar had so many cracks and loose bracing I was worried it might be too far gone. Andy completely restored and rescued the guitar while perfectly preserving its patina and charm and it is now the best player I own. I cant put it down. Being a craftsman myself, when I saw Andy's workshop I knew the guitar was in the right hands. This man is a highly skilled artisan. Many thanks to Andy, and to Aaron for the referral. These guys are friendly, accommodating and highly professional.

Andy and Joel have a great music store and do a great job. They are friendly, helpful, and provide great customer service. I have had some guitars repaired by them and the work was excellent at a very fair price. I highly recommend giving these two handsome helpful guys your business. They are sage and wise beyond their years.

Brought a 96 stratocaster in for a full fret re-work. I was nervous about who to bring it to. Took a chance and Andy up front was a professional. Promised within a week and done in 2 days. They did wonderful work for a reasonable price. I will be going back for future work. Thank you!

I took my Strat in last week and asked Andy to install some locking tuners. They did a great job putting them on, and the turnaround was quick too. I've heard Andy referred to as "Koontz Junior" and I believe the moniker is well earned.

Great store with a nice selection of acoustic guitars and other stringed instruments. The repair work done here is outstanding. Also, I bought my first mandolin from Joel yesterday. He is always so helpful and kind. I highly recommended Bayberry!

Tip for guitarists: Be sure to ask about the custom-made Bayberry acoustic guitars. There are usually one or two on the floor. They are beautiful instruments both visually and acoustically.
