This is a small park right opposite to the White House Visitor Center. It was called the Pershing Park earlier but recently it was redesigned as World War I memorial. There are benches around and a fountain.

Every evening at 5pm a bugler in World war 1 uniform plays the taps to honor the Americans who served in all the wars.
This place is another reminder that so many people sacrificed their lives for the liberties we enjoy so freely today and we should ever be grateful for those people who have protected and served our country and the ones who continue to protect and serve our nation.

Very informative and well done. Worth a 15-30 minute stop. Located right across from the Willard Intercontinental Hotel. Includes a large monument to General Pershing and detailed depictions in stone of the major campaigns in which the American military fought.

This memorial gets a lot less traffic since it’s off the National Mall, and I suspect it’s an overlooked gem. It’s still a work in progress, with the current mural planned to be replaced by a sculpture of the same size. The explanation for how the sculpture is being developed is pretty cool with live actors, and the memorial overall is a fitting tribute to the men and women who sacrificed their lives in this war.

Sculpture - "A Soldier's Journey"

Memorial architect Joe Weishaar calls Sabin Howard’s A Soldier’s Journey sculpture “The Everyman.” Thirty-eight separate figures, spread over approximately 58 feet of wall towards the western end of the Memorial Core, portray the experience of one American soldier. Starting from the left, the soldier takes leave from his wife and daughter, charges into combat, sees men around him killed, wounded, and gassed, and recovers from the shock to come home to his family. The figures are mounted on the wall.

This beautiful monument that is dedicated to World War II. The Monument is not as close to the museums malls in Washington DC.

Another great Washington DC Monument. It's a bit off of the National Mall, so don't forget about it.

Relaxing, respectful, and not over-produced for tourism. All major cities should have such a place.

Delegation from Flanders in US to honor our fallen from WWI. Buglers from Menin Gate in Ypres played the Last Post prior to Taps at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The world war one memorial is not as close to the other monuments or museums in Washington DC so I do not think it gets as much recognition but it is still an interesting thing to honor the history of the United States and those who fought during the war.

The World War I Memorial is dedicated to the memory of the 116,516 Americans who served in the First World War and 4,000 who died in service.
