Egg King Cafe

To say this place is "no-frills" is an understatement, but don't let that deter you. The food is FANTASTIC and don't get me started on the service. SO friendly. You order at the counter and then take a seat. You hear the order taker shouting out orders to the cook who responds in kind. The vibe is really great. I ordered the egg sandwich. Eggs cooked perfectly with flavorful sausage patties on Texas toast. The food is delivered to your table in styrofoam containers by friendly wait staff. Overall a great experience. Oh, and I got a T-shirt.

Egg King Cafe. I love Old time Diners . This a true Greasy Spoon. Food is AMAZING. Just be prepared to wait for dine in or take out. We dined in. Order at the counter first. I love The Friendly Memphis Hospitality. 1st visit I had the Chicken Wings n Waffle. My wife ordered the Ultimate Hashbrowns. They included bacon and sausage with bell pepper and onions. Biscuit and sausage gravy was amazing. Also put gravy on the hash browns. Perfect. Prices are reasonable. 2nd visit , more Sausage gravy n biscuit. Wings and waffle. This time had the King omelet. That consists of chopped steak, bell pepper, onions and tomatoes. Really good. Also got a tshirt for $15. If you're visiting Graceland , great place for breakfast to get your Graceland visit started. Only about 1 mile South on Elvis Presley Blvd.

First, you are greeted like you are family. The guy at the front running the register is very funny as well. The food was really good and price really well. The waffles and pancakes are so good. We will be back.

I enjoyed a big omelet and it was delicious. The people are very kind and the place was clean. The pancake was a pancake. The food was filling and tasty. I would call this place a diamond in the rough.

This post is a little late about 2 wks ago. There weren't any expectations, just wanted breakfast and this was 1st visit. I learned order at the counter and I did....French toast and ultimate hashbrown.
Usually look around to get a glimpse of other customers orders but I was occupied on the phone.
To my surprise the food was brought to me as a takeout order and sat on the table.
But when I opened those containers I was shocked by presentation and portion. I instantly said while talking who's going to eat all this for and I was dining alone😄.
Food was 👍 now let's try the whole menu.

Me and the wife ordered the Scrambled eggs, with wheat toast, pan sausage, grits, hash browns and pancakes. Keep up the good work and continue to thrive..🖤💚❤

This was my very first visit to the Egg King Cafe. I must admit, I had the most delightful experience. I was promptly greeted and seated. My waitress was so very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. The menu has so many great selections to choose from. I ordered the waffle, sausage, eggs, toast and grits with coffee. After just ending a fast, a hearty breakfast with all the trimmimgs was in order. My food was delicious! I observed the activity in the restaurant. The owner was busy making sure that every customer was attended to and satisfied. I saw him walk through and personally pickup small pieces of paper off the floor which was very commendable. I also love the amount of seating availability. EKC offers both dine-in and takeout and is open daily from 7am-3:30pm. Come on down to the Egg King Cafe at 4458 Elvis Presley Blvd.

Unironically the best breakfast experience I've had in years. Damn good food, atmosphere, and service. If you stop in Memphis near this area, make sure to check it out. Will definitely come back for years to come every convention I attend to in Memphis.

First time customer! This a black owned restaurant! The people there are friendly. The food was delicious and reasonable. I highly recommend this place if you want a good breakfast. The chicken and waffles were delicious. Will be back soon.

I love the look and feel of this place, it was clean, friendly staff, bathrooms clean. Tables were clean. The chief's menu was excellent. Family friendly.

Amazing people & great chefs. This road trip from NYC was worth it with this southern hospitality, i appreciate you guys so much. Also please tip them well, they work hard here!

I stopped here while driving through Memphis before I visited Graceland and it was delicious! I got the Kings Delight and it was way better then I expected. Its a sample little place but it packs a lot of punch. If you are in the area you won't regret eating here. Their western omelette was great too!

Egg King is certainly that! King!!! Food was great and I really felt like I was in the city of Memphis and Elvis’ home! In fact it was breakfast before we visited Graceland and the giant Elvis museum complex!

Amazing food and friendly service! We ordered the chicken and waffle. Best fried chicken I’ve ever had.

Their hash brown, biscuits and gravy is also top tier.

Before going to Graceland, be sure to stop by for a energy fuel for your trip.

Great little breakfast before driving back to STL. Everyone was super nice and helpful. It was a perfect little breakfast diner, flat top grill and all. The eggs were great and filling. They sent out salsa and sour cream on the side, which was perfect and not common for many places. I say all of this because, as I said, I was about to drive for four hours. If you know anything about some diners and breakfast, that drive could have been awful. I'm headed back to Memphis next month and will definitely have my travel breakfast there again!

We were passing through Memphis to head home to New Mexico. We saw the recommendation of this restaurant and so we stopped. We visited with a couple from Atlanta, they always stop here to eat. Said that we would enjoy it and boy did we! Great food! Excellent wags the way my Grandmother did hers, fantastic!

My breakfast was EVERYTHING! Food was cooked to perfection and fresh off the grill!

Nice lil place! The food is good and the service is professional. Recommend for breakfast. One suggestion for improvement is clearer opening/closing times.

Great food and service! I ordered the steak omelet, and it was perfect. The bacon is also a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
It's really close to Graceland so if you're visiting Elvis, it's worth the stop.
