A charming, welcoming & your best breakfast/lunch restaurant in Irvington, VA. Here, the great staff know their regular customers, serve the freshest foods to order as you sip on delicious coffee. We enjoyed The Local so much that we returned each day of our stay nearby. While you wait for your delicious breakfast or lunch (best chicken salad ever!) browse through a book from their new "Book Club" selection. Highly recommend: Salmon on bagel, Chicken with salad, Breakfast egg, sausage sandwich. They will also pack for to take on the road.

We enjoyed smoothies and sandwiches from this location during a small vaca. Staff were friendly and the place looked great. I loved the veggie garden sink sandwich it was perfectly made. Strawberry banana smoothie is worth it.

This place is great! It really is a local gem. The food is great with local ingredients (as possible). The coffee is amazing. What really struck me was how friendly the owner was and how adorable the decor is. I love the local artisan goods for sale - art, skin cream, and more. Will definitely be back.

Great local coffee shop which also serves really great food! Warm atmosphere, friendly staff. We had coffee each day we were in town, was great. Had breakfast the first day, all our food was made fresh to order and it was well worth the cost. On the second day we stopped in for just coffee on our tree turn from lunch, I wished we had come here for lunch instead of where we came from, the sandwiches I saw looked amazing! I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

Staff was super kind, atmosphere relaxed and food+ coffee was amazing!! Been twice now on early out clinical days and hope to return soon.

Dine-in or take-out, both are great! Breakfast, lunch, muffins, cookies, all very delicious! I love it here!

The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, it really makes you feel like a local even though you may just be passing through! The food is delicious and served with a welcoming smile!

I can't wait to come back and enjoy a cup of coffee and an avocado toast with the other "locals"!

Fantastic! Me and my gf went her for breakfast on our first morning of vacation and it was great! The service was amazing, asked for help with directions and got good help. The decorations and location are perfect and the FOOD! SO GOOD. Maybe the freshest breakfast sandwiches we’ve ever had! We will be back again soon!

This place was exactly what I was looking for in a local sandwich and coffee shop. Folks were friendly; seating was spacious. I think they add a packet of ranch seasoning to their potato salad and it's freaking awesome

Only bad thing about this place is that they didn’t have any key lime ice cream sandwiches when we visited. But, the coffee and sandwiches were excellent. I particularly liked the Flying Tomato. Staff was friendly and welcoming, and as far as I could tell did a good job adhering to mask and distancing protocols.

The prices are comparable with any restaurant in Richmond but the FOOD 😍 is AMAZING. This is not a burn-and-turn fast-food diner, so don't compare the Local's modest chalkboard of offerings to food truck prices, but do prepare to get blown away by food done RIGHT and really excellent coffee concoctions. Everything is fresh and the service is friendly, so sit a while and enjoy the Local and all it has to offer.

Amazing food (and large portions). The staff was friendly and very helpful. We wished we were staying longer so we could go back!! Don't miss this one!

While stopping by in Irvington, I had the pleasure of eating lunch at The Local. They were kind, very eco-friendly and that was hands down the best chai tea I've had in years. Now, I'm looking for excuses to go to Irvington to have their delicious drinks and eats. Remember to bring your own mug if you are taking it to go!

Great crab muffin ! And the California Club sandwich was great. Potato salad was fresh and delicious. Our first visit was a success!

Neat little coffee shop! The food is a tad pricey but that's to be expected given the area. Fun little place!

Great dining experience. We had lunch and just enjoyed ourselves. Artwork by local artists on the walls; friendly and professional staff and great food. As the name implies, this local restaurant is the place to go for a good meal. Highly recommended.

Everything was so delicious — OG Panini, the Turkey and Apple sandwich, the Nantucket muffin! Oh — and the potato salad!?! Delicious!!! The staff was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was cozy.

Environmentally responsible, great food and coffee. Service is excellent and polite. The breakfast sandwich (croissant) is divine, I had the sausage, twice!

Great food and kind service. Bigger city style salads and paninis. Charming dog friendly courtyard and a fun clothing shop next door and across the street. Soup is always good. It’s all a bit higher in price than I’d prefer but I’m so thankful it’s here in Irvington! One of only two places to get hand crafted espresso in the area. The only one in Irvington.

Get the Captain!!! Really great sandwiches. Yummy drinks (no booze just assorted drinks) nice patio. Very kind service.
