This is a very well laid out experience. Go to the museum first and watch the videos. Then look at all of the artifacts and information that is there. Your experience once in the church will be much better afterwards. The tour guide that we had was very knowledgeable about the history of this church as well as the surrounding area. If you are anywhere near this area you have to stop by and see it!

We stayed here with our camper because they participate in Harvest Hosts. The stay was peaceful. We were the only ones camping here. We were met by two wonderful ladies in the museum. They were as knowledgeable as they were pleasant. They treated us like family. I'm actually related to one of the people buried here in the 1700s. The tour of the church was amazing. There was an archaeologist doing a dig around the church while we were there. We found wine berries growing here and made a snack out of them. The church and museum are a hidden Virginia gem.

Interesting colonial church. Friendly and knowledgeable docent giving tours. It's worth the $10 fee for the museum and the guide. It supports local history and preservation.

Beautiful, historic church. We went for the reading of the Declaration of Independence, which was a nice community event. Learn about some of Virginia’s founding fathers, enjoy the special architecture, and make sure to see Mr Carter’s grave. So glad this has been restored.

This museum is packed with information and artifacts about Christ Church, its major benefactor, Robert "King" Carter. The Carter influence on Northern Neck and a lot of historical information about the area can be found here. Allow at least a couple of hours to see this magnificent church and take in the museum.

We were planners for a wedding that was held in this idyllic setting. There is a delightful on-site wedding coordinator which is important, as this is an historic site. The space is true to its 18th century roots; is not conditioned nor are there electric lights. Great for touring too!!

Great history lesson on the forgotten persons of the beginning of our country and how they lived.

The hours are seasonal. The museum is closed from December thru April. You must call for an appointment if you would like to visit during that time. April and November are only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Tour was fantastic and informative. Amazing in architecture and structure, reminiscent of Ivano-Frankiv. The church was gorgeous. Well worth the stop in.

Wonderful historic site. Nothing compares to the architecture and craftsmanship of this early 1700’s colonial church. A true example of the best of early American design and building!

Nice historic place. Docents know more than other places we have been. You do not need to be a history buff to enjoy the museum, gift shop and church. The people and times about this historic site are extremely interesting. And the archetecure of the church is most interesting. Tour lasts half to full hour depending how interested you are.

My child went to Christ Church for a field trip. All the staff were super kind and very knowledgeable. If you ask a question about anything.. Literally anything (I was there with a bunch of fourth graders) they can answer it. I look forward to returning to Christ Church again. One of the staff members told me they hold a lot of events there including music and wine festivals.

Okay history buffs. I have some trivia for you. This is how our forefathers measured an acre. The first acre measessured at this church.
Also the incredible architecture displayed inside is pheonpmonal. Have you ever seen structure that is set to look like the depth of the corner moulding seems no different in the chirch anywhere you dot? It is amazing, astonishing, fascinating and totally awesome
Triple A1A no holds barred! Also great for a fun educational trip for children
Aren't we supposed to teach them?

Interesting part of history, still in great condition and used regularly for services. Interesting seating arrangements in those days, not like the open rows of today. Excellent museum and tour staff. Make sure you visit!
