Very pompous owner:

On June 15th 20I8 I took my deck black cast iron railings to Allison Sandblasting to strip the old paint & then repaint satin black.
Two to three weeks later after not hearing from them I called to see if they were complete, I was told they were “backed up” from their recent relocation.
Throughout July I called 3-4 times and was told: “we are still backed up”, “we don’t have our paint booth set up yet”, “and we will paint them outside weather permitting”.
Towards the end of July since we had several nice sunny days I called and the owner said “look I have big $10,000 commercial jobs you’ll have to wait or just come pick them up and pay me for removing the old paint” I told him I was in no position to do that and just needed a complete job so my contractor could finish his deck work and reinstall the rails.
Some place in conversations an employee said they didn’t have a city/county permit to “paint on the property”, that is when I learned the REAL TRUTH AND ISSUE. I called both the City of Gainesville and Hall County business license/permit department(s) and they confirmed they did not have a permit to paint.
So knowing they were incapable of finishing the job, on August 24th I had a friend with his pickup truck drive me to Allison Sandblasting to pick up my rails.
The owner was not there and the shop manager would not give me my rails without paying 50% of the $210 they quoted me for a complete job, basically they held my rails hostage for money. With 30 minutes of debating I finally paid the $105 so I could get my deck rails and not detain my friend any longer.
I will say Heather at the front desk was very apologetic & nice. The shop manage was professional, apologetic but wanted the money.
Bottom line they took a job they did not have a license or permit to do and wasted 2 months of my time, my contractor left my job and needs to come back and I am out $105.00.
