Island Gun Shop, Inc

Tucked away in Portsmouth, R.I. is a small, well stocked gun shop! The owner goes out of his way to educate and help all who enter the shop understand current, up to date gun laws! His testing procedure for those seeking a Rhode Island Blue Card is fantastic! He stocks new, used and weapons on consignment plus he stocks a great supply of famous ammo. This is the last FFL on the island. He operates out of a large storage unit. Dominic is a very thorough guy and will make sure that the buyer and the seller have the right documentation. The authorities do not allow him to advertise, so if you have not been there before, call ahead of time and he will give you directions to the place. He can be a bit short on the phone simply because there are usually three people asking him questions in the store. I have so far sold to him, shipped through him, and transfered in through him - all without a glitch. He also carries a wide variety of ammo that is not widely available at this time...last time I visited (first week of march 2013), he had 22, .223/5.56, 9mm, 45, 7.62x51, 7.62x54 and many others.

A little shop with lots of what people need. The owner will take good care of anyone needing a firearm or selling a firearm. He helped me find exactly what I needed.

Tried to find this place when I was home a couple of months back, it was very small with an extremely limited selection. When I walked in and asked about what ammo the owner had in stock I was asked if I could read. Don't waste your time for what I could only describe as a walk in closet with 2 rifles in it.

Went in to browse the selection after returning home from service, checked out some of the handguns he had available, he seemed impatient for me to leave or purchase something.. I asked the man if he had any AR style rifles, he said his shop doesn’t sell assault rifles... I just turned around and walked out, typical New England ignorance.

Very rude and arrogant.
