I went to VBYC for 10 years as a camper! I was also a counselor & staff member there. Some of my best memories were made at this camp. I can’t wait to send my kids once they’re old enough! The staff and counselors at VBYC are welcoming to all & the programming is fun and engaging for kids of all ages and backgrounds. Best part of my childhood!

Quite possibly the best thing about summer in Van Buren County. Mom of camper, now counselor, in her 11th consecutive camp season. Unaffiliated, inclusive, humble and compassionate all at once, this place is where kids can learn skills for being good solid humans, from counselors and staff who are actual good solid humans. Exactly what the world needs right now. Love this place.

What a unique, peaceful and exciting place for special events! Rustic camp cabins, gorgeous lake, full working kitchen, and a large dining hall brimming with memories from yesteryear are a few things you will find at VBYC. Outdoor activities throughout the grounds and a large community fire pit complete this eclectic ensemble of potential memorable events.

VBYC has been a big part of my life. I attended camp in the 70's and all 3 of my children have been a part of camp as campers, counselors, and staff. I have also attended their Women's Wellness Weekend for the past 10 years. I love how the traditions of camp have remained and I can continue to share those experiences with my own kids. I know my grandchildren will attend one day and am happy to see the tradition continue.

Went here back in the 80's I think there are pictures because there was a fire right. So many memories. They did a ghost busters thing one year and it was really cool and scarey. Playing capture the flag. Now I have to see if we still have any pictures laying around

This is a cool place for kids of all ages to go to camp at, its also used for wedding venues, etc. I wish I could have went to youth camp here. The caretaker is a wonderful lady, and very good at what she does, the staff is great, and seeing things from the outside in, the kids, teenager's, etc. are actually have a great time when there. It seems to be one of the best camps to attend, with much to do, and experience.

My older son has been going here for several years, and now my younger son has gone. They love it. We love it because it's a very traditional 1950s style camp - low frills, honest to goodness outdoor fun. The cabins don't have electricity, there's no fancy pool or waterslides, and the kids aren't allowed to have any screens (phones, iPads, tablets, etc.)

They have a blast every year just being kids, doing a lot of old-fashioned fun stuff. They have games, crafts, skill-building activities, swimming in the lake, learning about nature, etc. They have big camp fires, they learn about being good people and helping out, and they make friends.

Great place with a lot of good old fashioned values and traditions.

My sons attended the Frontier session in 2019, it was their first time at camp and away for a week (non-family). Everyone was amazing, the activities were so much fun m and my kids can’t wait to go back next summer!!

This was a great camp experience for my son and increased his confidence, independence and passion for the outdoors. I dropped of a shy boy that had tears in his eyes when I said good bye (with guilt/trepidation); but picked up a confident boy that made friends and wanted to stay an additional week. This is a wonderful camp experience with awesome counselors that will reconnect your child with nature, technology free fun, builds confidence and friendship.

Great place for our larp group. Lots of property and a large dining hall. Easily accommodates our group of 60. Cabins sleep 9 with one bigger "staff" cabin. There is also beds in the basement of the dining hall, which makes a nice shelter for severe weather. The building and grounds are well maintained. There is a lake for swimming and canoes or kayaks. The only downside I can find is that the "camper" cabins are not heated and there is only electrical for the lights in them. None of that stops our group from using this site from May to October.

I went to VBYC every year from age 7 to 16. Such a great place to spend a week or two. The camp does a great job of making every day fun and full of activities.

What a great experience for kids. Not only do they have a blast, they learn about leadership, friendship, self reliance, and so much more! The affordable pricing is a major bonus.
