I wish I had taken a before picture, but my boots were well-worn and the sole was coming apart due to the stitching being destroyed. I haven't gotten boots resoled in about a decade and tried West Shoe Hospital based on reviews and experience with high-end shoes. When I dropped my boots off, I had a nice chat about the business and family history, being three generations deep of cobblers, and modern boot quality. Not knowing what current resole rates were, I had a little sticker shock at $115, but figured it's been a while and inflation hasn't been the kindest lately. I also don't mind paying for artisanship. They did a great job resoling my boots and conditioning them. The leather sole they used is very thick and should last a very long time. I wear boots every day and alternate 3 pairs regularly. My boots get beaten and used and I know where the next set will be going to be cared for. Thanks for doing a spectacular job and having these things looking like new! Now I have to beat them up again so people know I use them ;) Note to anyone looking at the pictures...these are oil tanned leather boots and are supposed to look dull with no polish.

I drive about an hour to get here from my house, and it is definitely worth it.

One of my cowgirl boots got damaged on the toe area, so it made it painful for me to wear.
After my boots got fixed and I went home to try them on, I couldn’t even remember if it was the left boot or the right boot that was hurting me because they both felt perfect and totally comfortable. These boots are really sentimental to me, and I was afraid I’d never be able to wear them again, but thanks to West Shoe Hospital they’re better than ever. They also got leather conditioned, and none of the embroidery changed color or got damaged.
Also, I got new soles on my sandals and I’m confident they’ll last for years. Really nice craftsmanship and they feel much nicer on my feet.

I’ve been looking for a cobbler to resole my Rick Owen Dunks and Margiela Tabis, stumbled upon West Shoe Hospital, the cobbler (didn’t get to catch his name sorry bro) seemed very knowledgable and was very patient in answering all of my questions, which made me feel reassured that my shoes were in good hands.

- Turn around time was 1 week from the day of drop-off, he also will notify you by text when your items are ready to pick up.

- I paid $100 total ($50 each) for both pairs to be resoled which I think is a very reasonable price for the quality and quick turn around time.
(Not sure if this would effect price but I did supply my own insoles)

- Upon pick up I was beyond satisfied with the outcome as they came out exactly how I wanted them to, the cuts on the soles are crisp and clean,
He was also able to cut the sole to the Tabi toe slit and it looks amazing pretty much looks like the shoes could’ve came new with the soles!

TLDR; West Shoe Hospital is the place to go if you need any work done on high end shoes, they are quick and reliable, and will definitely be back to get the rest of my rotation resoled!

Hands down the best boot repair place in the city! Excellent prices, excellent service, very professional, and not only are experts at boots, but excellent with all leather products! Turnaround time on products is very reasonable and I highly recommend! Have been back a couple of times and plan to return again!

Found this shoe repair online after receiving subpar and overpriced services from a well known/chain repair shop. IM SO GLAD I DID!!! this shops turnaround time was fantastic and their prices are very fair. I’ll be coming here moving forward and will send my Houston friends here.

I came into the West Shoe Hospital shop with a lot of questions about shoe care and repair prices. JR (Cobbler) was able to answer them all! We also had a great conversation about different shoe brands and leathers. I explained to JR that I recently bought my first pair of nice dress shoes (J&M Hyde Park II Cap Toe) and that I wanted to make sure they lasted for years to come. He briefed me on all the different preventative measures to take to ensure the protection of my shoe. I was so impressed by JR's expertise, professionalism and photo gallery of previous shoe repair projects that I decided to place my trust in him. I handed JR my brand new J&M shoes for him to insert rubber sole guards and heel plates. West Shoe Hospital promptly notified me once the job was done. Upon my arrival, I was ecstatic to see the final product. JR really did "hit the nail on the head" on this one. His work was impeccable. I had this pair of shoes for almost 30 years and I love it. The heels fell off when I was thinking of wearing it for a special family gathering. So I googled for a place to fix it. I got it back today and I am so happy with the work. I can probably wear it for another 10 years since it’s nice and comfortable for all occasions 👍

I brought in a pair of expensive winter boots that I’ve had for years. Except I had worn down the heels and something inside was clicking when I walked. I searched and found this place and I’m so happy I did! They did an awesome job repairing the heels so that they look just like new!! Thank you so much for the fantastic job you did in one week. I met Jose about a year ago he fixed a belt for my daughter and now I took my boots to get the sole top edge dyed black..
He did a great same day job in few hours, like always ...great friendly people....

Rarely…RARELY do you find someone that will ensure quality and a fast turn around time! This was the place. Jose worked his magic on a pair of YSL suede boots that were completely worn out & full of scuffs! I was shocked when he gave them back to me. They looked brand new. No joke. Mind you, there was paint on these shoes. He took his time to clean around them and ensure the quality was met. Well done. Will be bringing my other boots and shoes to clean. Wow.

This shop is my new cobbler and will be coming back here for all shoe repairs. Quick turnaround, very fair prices and excellent service. The cashier was super sweet and helpful. They repaired 2 separate pairs of my red bottoms! They were quick and did an awesome job! I will definitely visit them again if I need more repairs in the future! <3

As an avid shoe collector, I take my Cobblers very serious. Having moved here from the East Coast, I was unsure who to bring my shoes to. Everyone suggested Houston Shoe Hospital. And everyone was WRONG!!! WEST SHOE HOSPITAL is By Far not only the BEST cobbler in Houston....but one of the best I've ever encountered in the US!!! And that's saying a lot!!! There is No One else in Houston I'd hand my vintage Guccis or my new Loubies over to, and with such confidence.

They did a great job stretching my black leather boots that would not zip up on the calf. They were very kind and professional. I would come again for future business.

West Shoe is a small shop with quick turnaround and wonderful service. He was very polite, answered all questions, and was very prompt. First time getting my shoes re-soled and the results definitely exceeded my expectations!

Great experience. Took a pair of $1000 shoes that I purchased to a few other places and they charged insane prices ($100+) for average work.

This place is amazing. I got stuck in the rain in my favorite leather pair of boots and they got ruined. The sole was coming off and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to repair them. I pass this place every day on my way into work, so I decided to take a chance and drop them off. The lady was super kind and gave me a really great price to replace both sides with leather soles. The turn around time was also very reasonable, 2 days! I came in this morning to pick them up and was very impressed with the quality of work. The shoes look brand new! Made my day. If you have shoes you need to repair, this is the place to go! Love supporting small businesses. Congratulations to the new owners ! I will be back !

I brought in my Bottega cross body bag to west shoe hospital because one of the snaps broke and it was fixed in 14 days. (due to the arts being ordered) you can't detect what was fixed or broken.

Excellent service from start to finish. I searched for a shoe repair company since I wanted to have some Gucci sport shoes refinished and found this local shop near my house. The shop owner greeted me at the door and the charge was very reasonable for work. I accidentally overpaid with 2 stuck bills and the man noticed and returned the other bill. No wonder my wife doesn't trust me with money! Anyway, the man is very honest and the quality of work is good. The shoes are in now in excellent condition and I will be bringing back more in the future.
