It was my first visit after COVID-19 and after I moved to a different state. The colossal Cafe was my favorite hidden spot during my time with U of MN, and it always offered warm dishes and a great atmosphere. It’s so precious that I only share this with a few friends. And I visited again during my short trip to the twin cities, and I feel like my lovely gem is more beloved. I miss the cafe, and I highly recommend it here.

It sounds cliche but this is truly a hidden gem. It was busy this morning but all of the staff were incredibly helpful and we were always met with smiles. The specials or the pork shoulder burrito are top notch and the mimosa was absolutely delicious. There was a woman floating around helping everyone, she is amazing and clearly knows her stuff. Go here, you will not regret it. Side note: They get busy, be patient. It is not the staffs fault they make amazing food that so many people want. We ordered multiple meals and our food was out within 7-8 minutes WITH it being at peek breakfast time. Just chill out, walk in with a smile, and appreciate these wonderful people that are here serving us. 10/10 from start to finish.

This is one of my favorite neighborhood spots! I frequently stop by for a little treat, though the treats are, dare I say, colossal!? Love the cinnamon rolls. This peanut butter pie was incredible. Their breakfast and lunch options are great too. Staff is always friendly even when there's a line out the door.

The food came out quickly and was so good!! The chorizo benedict monthly special was AMAZING, best eggs benedict I’ve ever had and thats my go-to order. The bison biscuits and gravy was decent, but not bad. Kind servers and good coffee. Will return!

There was a long line on a Sunday morning, but they were very efficient and seated people right after ordering at the counter. It has a fun brunch vibe and the food was great. We tried the Benedict special, which was fantastic and unique. The pancakes were very thick and fluffy— we couldn’t get through half of the stack because they were so filling. The brewed coffee was free self serve refills.

The pastries and other food all looked delicious too, so we will be back to try more! Staff was really friendly and there’s street parking surrounding the building.

First visit to this quirky little restaurant. Busy Saturday morning, we met friends for breakfast. Luckily, we got there when there was no line. Ordered pancakes and bacon. The food is brought quickly to your table by friendly, helpful staff. The servings are enormous! And delicious!! Only downside, if there had to be one, is that because so many people are in line down the middle of the restaurant waiting to order and get a table that it is extremely noisy. But I would absolutely go back.

Great little diner tucked away, easy to drive by and miss. Ended up getting the colossal breakfast with trout would/will definitely go back if I am ever back in this city. Employees are very nice and helpful, bathrooms were tidy and clean. The menu is big enough for what I would consider even a "picky eater". Oh, and the food is served up very quickly which is another plus.

Fast, friendly service. Love the Scandinavian frittata with smoked trout and herbed cream cheese. Have yet to try the poutine Benedict. Baked goods in the case are ginormous. Place is crowded -- because it's great!

Easy Street parking. Fresh foods, good portions and a fair price. I've had breakfast and lunch here both very good. Clean, FAST and friendly service. Beautiful day, sat outside. Order at register, served at the table. Attentive staff made sure our dog had fresh water as soon as we sat.

Colossal has been a community's best place to eat for a long time. I've worked at my job for over 11 years and I still am awed by the creative tasty dishes I get to try every time I visit. Everyone who is on Como in the neighborhood and hungry should definitely give Colossal Cafe a try!

Great lil spot with friendly people and delicious food. Good vibes for groups of 2 people, I probably wouldn’t bring a group of more than 2 to dine in here as it’s a popular spot and most tables are set up for 2. Definitely will be back!

I cannot speak highly enough of our Easter brunch this morning from Colossal Cafe. It was perfection and made our holiday so easy. Everything was delicious - there wasn’t a single dish that I wouldn’t order again. We got the egg bake with peas and leeks, scalloped potatoes, veggie pot pie, biscuits with strawberry jam, monkey bread and a cinnamon roll. All of this cost only $66 and fed five hungry people, and we have a lot of leftovers. Plus, everything was perfectly par baked so that it all took thirty minutes at the same temperature in the oven. It was so easy and straightforward. No waking up early, no trying to juggle different times or oven temperatures, and absolute perfection in every dish. The monkey bread especially was devoured in less than 90 seconds. I also really appreciated the many vegetarian options. The pot pie was very robust - and look at that crust! The biscuits and homemade jam were a treat. I wish I had taken more photos before everything was obliterated. I don’t know why I would ever cook my own Easter brunch when Colossal can do it for me (and at $13 per person). Thank you, Colossal Cafe!! Can’t wait for next year.

I loved this place when it was a quirky, tiny little place with only 6 seats. Their flappers were to die for. I was afraid that their new location and larger space wouldn't keep up the quality, but boy was I wrong. I recently visited their new location, and the food was even better than I remembered. Their flappers are the best pancakes in town! They have many more options now than ever before, and they do them all just as well. I highly recommend this place for breakfast almost any time of the day. So good!

Best spinach omelette I’ve had yet. Every bite was an explosion of flavors, mushrooms cheese spinach onions, everything has its own unique flavor, all jammed together in each bite. First time here, will definitely return.

I've been dining at Colassal Cafe on Como for a number of years. I used to frequent this location more regularly for breakfast and lunch when I worked in the area. Although the staff has changed over the years they have always been top notch. The food is always cooked to perfection. This is my go-to breakfast spot when friends are in town even though I live 20 miles away. It's worth the drive. You have to time your visit otherwise you may be waiting just to get a seat. Photo is the Colossal Breakfast with bacon and sourdough toast.

Breakfast at the Colossal Café transported me to my Granny’s southern kitchen. The biscuit covered 40% of my plate and 100% of my memory. Perfectly fluffy on the inside and the right shade of golden on the outside. Up to Granny’s standards. She used to toss ingredients in a bowl without measurements and created biscuits like those. The workers at the counter were friendly and easy on my pre-caffeinated brain. The only thing I craved was a smidge more salt – but given my elevated BP, it was as though my (now deceased) Granny was still looking out for me by not overly salting my food. The Colossal Breakfast was a nostalgic way to start my day.

Check out the weekend specials, the Eggs Benedict with Beef Short Rib is worth coming back for. And the pancakes are very popular, always busy here on weekend mornings.
