Backroads Bistro

Stop over for one night in Panguitch and used Google Maps to find us a dinner spot. Reviews were great but many other place in town also had high ratings so was cautious of "tourist bias".... We didn't need to be!
The bacon soup (a daily special) was flavourful and hearty!
The Maryland crab cakes had a great blend of flavours without the over powering crab flavour you sometimes get!
The mountain salad is AMAZING! The flavour kept on giving and I think we will try to replicate at home!
If you didn't have plastic cutlery, you could have easily imagined being at a 5 start restaurant (although here you probably got more food for your buck!)
We are sad we can't have another meal there before we leave, but fully recommend to anyone!

Delightful surprise. We were driving out of Bryce today and everything was closed nearby. We happened on this place and the food was excellent. The restaurant is small and eclectic, but the food was delicious. The service was excellent too. Go for the Thai pasta. The homemade focaccia bread was out of this world.

We went for dinner, and it wasn’t crowded, just a couple of families. The staff was friendly and fast, and our sandwiches were perfect! Mine was the avocado ranch club, with bacon and chicken, and after a long hike that was just what I needed!!

Escape the tourist food getting out of of BRYCE CANYON and head here for REAL FOOD , GOOD FOOD !!! Only downside is non earth friendly utensils, plates and all but hey ! who knows if recycling is real :)

Food is nice and affordable. The sandwich is too salty for sure. Crab cakes are great!

Looks from outside can be deceiving! The food choices and quality were excellent. Chicken salad sandwich was perfect. Neat chips too, very flavorful. Artichoke dip was tasty. Portions were very filling. LOVED, that they used mostly environmentally sound service ware! Go Green!
Wish we were local!

We were driving from Zion to Bryce, and were so glad we stopped here! The first day we ordered the green coconut curry pasta - I never would have thought fettuccine noodles could blend with Asian sauce so perfectly! The veggies were cooked to perfection! And the focaccia... it is the best you'll ever have! On our return trip, we stopped here again and had a special - Vietnamese pork / rice noodle salad! The marinated pork was cooked to perfection, even though I'm not a huge pork fan! The service is friendly, and it was so nice to find something delicious other than burgers. There's even outdoor seating, for nice days!

10/10 recommend this place! The crab cakes were full of meat, the beef stroganoff was delish, and the Italian sausage sandwich was uniquely yummy!

A delightful attentive staff, eclectic menu, exceptional taste, fresh, friendly and an incredible value. This little gem has a local feel, from the wait and cook staff to the decor. But wait and don’t let anything fool you! Three of us each ordered something different, and were each completely taken by the quality, food presentation and taste. We had a slight hesitation hearing they serve on disposable plates, but this didn’t take away in the least! Great experience!

We’re genuinely surprised and impressed by how much we loved the food here. Definitely a great place for dinner when visiting Bryce Canyon. Don’t judge a book by its cover.

FINALLY a delicious place to eat in Panguitch!! Absolutely amazing and fresh! We are so excited to try their sushi!!!!

If you’re ever passing through Panguitch of Southern Utah, you must give this place a try! The food was top-notch for this charming little town. The tostadas with pork is what we had and it was the best we’ve ever had. We also had the chicken sandwich…it was actually real chicken cooked that morning! The quality of the ingredients was great and everything was made fresh. I also enjoyed watching the staff prepare food right in front of us. The staff is super friendly and the chef/owner “Bob” is so good with the dishes he creates. We got to meet him and let him know just how much we appreciate the restaurant and his food! We wanted to go back for dinner but had to work until sun down. But, we will definitely go back again to try some of the other dishes!

What a great surprise to find this place on our way home from Lake Powell. Food and service were both great. We didn’t wait long at all and felt at home. No skimping on the salmon with the tacos and the kids meals were delicious. Sticky chicken salad was SO good. Large portions. A gem to come across and somewhere we will return in years to come. Thank you!

Delicious! We took the Wild Mountain Salad, the (temporary special) French onion soup and (temporary special) Shrimp pasta, everything was excellent. The service was also very good, kind and helpful staff.

The food was delicious! We tried the spinach artichoke dip, some salads and sandwiches and all of it was good as home cooking! The staff were friendly. It's a cute and cozy spot.

Fresh and delicious food with friendly service. Ordered soups of the day along with beef stroganoff, and chicken enchiladas.
Also got some bread pudding to go.. was very very good.
If your near Bryce .. its not too far away.

If you are heading towards Bryce you must stop at this bistro to try their freshly cooked food.!
We loved all the dishes we ordered. From the salmon to the enchiladas, it tasted very fresh, well cooked and had a good balance of flavors!

We came for lunch, a little close to one in the afternoon. They were busy, but everything went well. We chose to sit outside, and it was a great day to have lunch outside. Food is great. Service is great and if you want a great lunch meal, this is the place to visit. They have a kids menu that comes with it a part of a coloring sheet so that entertained the little one so that was a great option as well. All in all a great experience for lunch, and they had a wide selection of options to choose from, will definitely visit again

Worth stopping and enjoying a great meal. Every bite is filled with deliciousness and quality. 5 people in our group ordered different entrees and we tasted around, all we kept saying is “oh, that’s good” after every bite. Backroads is now a scheduled stop on our trips to Bryce.

If you are hungry, you need to stop here! Everything we had was delicious! The crab cakes, sticky chicken salad, potato soup, fish tacos, and the pecan chewy bar were amazing. The service was wonderful, friendly staff. I will come again if we pass through another time.
