Eat here, try everything, tip well.
We were camping at Thatcher State Park and decided to come to town for a meal after disc golfing. The burgers were so great that we visited this cafe 3 times over the next few days.

High quality, delicious food at both breakfast and lunch. We enjoyed the patio, too. Between the 3 of us, we tried 9 different dishes on the menu. Ask about the specials on the weekends.

They were training a new girl in the back so service was a little slow but the server was attentive. The food was amazing. We ordered the roast beef and Swiss and the Turkey and Goat cheese with fries and Mac salad as sides. We ate it all it. Caramelized onions were perfect, apples were fresh, sauces and cheeses were on point. I will go back and definitely recommend. On the way out we saw someone exit with what looked like an iced coffee and would have tried one if there had been time. There was also a cute side patio with outdoor seating.

Probably the best breakfast we’ve ever had! Super fresh and delicious. Between us we had eggs, home fries, toast, pancakes, sausage, avocado toast, sandwich, & french fries. Beyond impressed! Even my son (that is a very picky eater) loved everything. The team was friendly and very accommodating. The decor was absolutely adorable. I wish we lived nearby so that we could go regularly! Excellent!

Went a few times when it was busy which was completely my fault.

Unique food selections and it was so good! Turkey sandwich with Brie and jam I think? It was great!

Service was amazing, the food was amazing! In a beautiful town filled with amazing people. Would 100% highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch ! Also on top of that the place is adorable inside.

Food is always delicious. They have the best homefries out of any place in the cap district. Its food that actually has flavor instead of the bland old people diners that currently flood the area.

We went there because we were visiting from out of state, staying at an AirBNB and needed breakfast. One review that I saw stated that it was their best breakfast ever. Now, I enjoy breakfast and have had some poor ones at various restaurants, but couldn't look back and identify a 'best breakfast ever.'
Now I can! I had 2 over easy eggs, corned beef hash, potatoes and toast. My wife and I split a Very Berry Belgian waffle. The eggs and toast were just eggs and toast. The potatoes were very well seasoned, freshly cut, and fried to perfection. The corned beef hash was fresh and the best I've had. That alone was a reason to return. The half waffle with fresh berries and syrup was outstanding. The batter had a great flavor. Two important exceptions were that due to physical building space, plastic ware is used and the prices are higher than a typical breakfast. For our circumstance, neither of these were a negative. We are on vacation and wanted an experience more than a cheap meal. The atmosphere is small town Cheers like. Very friendly and casual. I highly recommend Main Street Cafe. You won't regret it!

Main Street Cafe a gem in the village of Altamont. All of the food offerings are delicious, the breakfast croissant with hot honey being my favorite. In addition, Jen and the entire team is pleasant and welcoming!

Absolutely a little gem of a diner. Would definitely eat there again ... the only reason I have it a 3 star on the food was because the hamburgers were a little under cooked ... they were thick and juicy, so if you order the hamburgers, order them medium well.

My family stopped here for breakfast on our road trip. We had a delicious breakfast! Everything was fresh, flavorful and well cooked. The staff were warm and welcoming. Just a great experience, thank you!

Me and my friend amber stumbled on this slice of heaven. Breakfast was delicious, highly recommend and I would be coming here again.

Best diner experience ever! Served like we were in the owner’s kitchen. Extremely high quality, super fresh, generous portions. Lovely environment, very welcoming and comfortable. We will have to make this a special stop the next time we are driving through the capitol region!

Beautiful cafe, they really need a sign for it!!

They have amazing baked goods, really good breakfest options, a lovely atmosphere, and they sell art from a local artist!

If you have time to spare, stop in for a drink and breakfast. My husband and I go once a week now and are loving it.

We’re so lucky to have Main Street cafe in the village! Everyone who works there has always been nice to interact with when we come for lunch and breakfast. The food is quick delicious and I love popping in on my home from work for some fresh lemonade! 😃

The food and the service were amazing. We tried their breakfast special of egg, cheese, & bacon on a croissant with hot honey butter and home fried, which is delicious and I would highly recommend. I hope it becomes a regular part of their menu. We will be back for sure.
