Mulberry Cafe and Coffee House

Breakfast with my daughter at the Mulberry Café and Coffee House, located on the corner of Badcock Blvd and 1st Ave NW in beautiful Mulberry, Florida! The Mulberry café is known locally for its large portions and delicious coffee. I had the Smashed Hash and Eggs, which consists of their crispy grilled corned beef hash served with 3 large eggs (cooked to order) with potatoes and choice of toast or grits! I added a side order of crispy bacon! In the picture, half of the food is hidden by their HUGE cat’s head biscuit! The food was delicious! My daughter had the 4 Egg Omelet which comes with your choice of hash browns, home fries or grits and toast. You also get to choose up to 3 fillings with the choices being bacon, sausage, ham chicken, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms roasted red pepper/onion blend or green chilis. And, if that weren’t enough, you get your choice of American, cheddar/Monterey Jack blend, Swiss, provolone or pepper jack cheese! (I told you that their portions were large!) The food served hot and our server, Beth, was friendly and cheerful! If you are in south Lakeland or Mulberry, you owe it to yourself to check out this lovely little café!

First time trying this place out on a Monday around 9am, overall everything was delicious, There was one small hiccup and the manager insisted they took off 25% of our bill even though we didn't request it. The crepes and coffee were exceptionally delicious. Definitely on our list for favorite breakfast spots and will be returning.

The food comes out looking beautiful, you can tell the cook pays attention to detail. It also tastes very good. I forgot to take a pcture of the food! My only critique is the potatos this time came out not as hot and fresh as last time. They have a variety of menu options, all of which I tried were delicious. Speciality coffee special for $3.50 in the mornings (pictured is the caramel macchiato). Lovely staff and cute cafe.

The food and service are marvelous! We came for breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. Thank you all for a wonderful meal!

Update to the update: Steak and egg breakfast over their fires makes "Wine Bar George" look like they don't know what they are doing😉

We went there on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The hostess/waitress told us it was a special Saturday and they were serving breakfast all day. ( Normally they stop at 11 a.m.) The food was delicious. The coffee wonderful. I ordered a Cuban sandwich with french fries to go for my husband. He really liked his meal too. ( Although he said the fries were a little salty.) If you like grilled cheese highly I recommend the Easy Cheesy. It comes with tomato bisque soup which I shamelessly dipped my sandwich into. (Because why else do you have tomato soup with your grilled cheese sandwich if not for dipping? ) We will be going back.

Food is delicious! Servers very attentive. Owner went out of his way to make me breakfast sandwich shortly after breakfast hours.

This was our first time visiting here, and we really enjoyed our breakfast. They are open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week. The breakfast menu had a nice variety of chef creations along with traditional breakfast items. Many of their menu items are named after movie references. We had the Jedi Redeye and Abe Froman. The portions were large, and the service was very friendly. Next time, we'll try their lunch items.

Our new breakfast place. Chef had Highlands Diner. Homemade scratch food. Biscuits are amazing. You can't go wrong here. Can't wait to go back next weekend.

Have only done breakfast but it is always good. Everyone is always very friendly. They remember my usual order too.

Update: Finally tried out lunch. Tenders were great. Hand cut fries were amazing. The homemade Buffalo sauce was perfect.

The staff were helpful and kind and the food was great! Very generous portions and even the plating was pretty. Crepes were especially delicious as were the biscuits. Good coffee, too!

EXCELLENT food and service. If passing through town a must stop. Are waitresses name was Beth and she was very professional, attentive and informative. She supplied us with great recommendations and made our meal very delightful. A rean asset to the company. Thank you again and we can't wait to come back and see you again

I have a new favorite breakfast place! The food comes in a very generous portion and tastes absolutely amazing! The biscuits were soft and butter and didn't crumb when you pick them up. The prices are extremely reasonable. The service and atmosphere were warm and inviting.

My family and I will definitely be back again!

This was our first visit. We came here after a hike on the seven wetlands trail.

This place is very small. Very hole in the wall type place. You can easily miss it driving by which we did.

There were three of us. I got breakfast. I got the special of cinnamon pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. I also got a cup of hot tea. I appreciate the fact that they made the tea for me. Some places just hand me the implements. The cinnamon pancakes were very good. I was afraid they might be too sweet but they were not.

My friends each got a Cuban sandwich. Both of them seemed to enjoy it.

The service was very fast. Staff was friendly. There's a very cozy, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere here. Very casual.

Upon entering the café, I was immediately greeted by a friendly and attentive waitress named Trisha. Her warm smile and genuine enthusiasm instantly made me feel welcome and excited for what was to come. Throughout my visit, Trisha proved to be an absolute gem, consistently going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Her attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and willingness to accommodate my requests truly set her apart.

I found them on Google before I left Tennessee to play ball there and would be a regular if I lived close by.
I can't say enough good things about the food, staff, or lattes.

First time visiting since the transformation from Carol's Cafe to Mulberry Cafe. Was very pleased. Food was delicious, service was wonderful and portion sizes were huge! We will definitely be back!

I beg to differ, I think we have super friendly staff. VERY HARD WORKING!
We do our best treat every guest the same.
If you catch us bright and early for breakfast id like to think we look alive. Now, after 1-2pm there’s no promises what we look like and what’s been spilled on our shirts but Death row is a stretch considering some of us haven’t even been to jail LOL. 4 attemps at our chicken tenders? Maybe the chicken was on death row?? As far as our kitchen staff goes, they usually look like meerkats through the window because if we don’t greet you when you walk in they will. Most of our guests know us ALL by name.

This is owned by the same person who had Highland City diner. The food is just as great as it was there and I make the drive about once a week for Breakfast or Lunch. Some new faces, some familiar, but Russ is still in the kitchen making sure everything is up to his standards most every day.

A few weeks ago we ordered catering for 15 people. Took House Salad (I would recommend asking for a side of vinaigrette as it doesn't come with one), Beef Stroganoff (everyone's favorite) for 8 people, Chicken Parm for 8 people, and 3 Monte sandwiches. Staff and the owner were super accommodating. The amount of food we ordered was even too much. Everything was delicious and ready to pick up on time. Would definitely pick up catering or lunch from here again!

This restaurant is a MUST TRY! You get a lot of great food, great coffee & super nice staff! Reminds me of the breakfast diners of the 70’s-80’s 🤩Highly, highly recommend!
