Got a Harazi coffee and slice of beehive. I was going between that coffee and a Turkish coffee and the person working at the counter said he liked that one better. It was very hot but so delicious as well. One bite of the beehive and you will be in love. It’s sweet but not overly sweet. Would totally recommend checking this place out if you are in the area!

Friendly staff, took time to explain desserts, food was delicious, hot beverages were served hot and fresh. Loved the atmosphere of the cafe. Wish we were closer to visit more often.

The Beehive pastry was amazing!!! I loved how it was a great blend of savory sweet. Not too sweet but still a treat! I don’t know exactly what is inside it, but I will definitely be looking into that because it was so delicious.
And the Adeni chai that I got was great as well. I had to let it cool a bit but it was worth the wait. Delicious flavors!
Service was great, and I will definitely be coming back whenever I’m in the area!

I had the most incredible experience at Socotra Cafe!

Hands down, it was the best food I have ever had. The breakfast sandwich, Eggs N Such, and a slice of the Bee Hive were nothing short of culinary masterpieces. Each bite was a burst of flavor that left my taste buds dancing with delight.

And let's not forget about the Chai tea – it was simply amazing! Rich, aromatic, and perfectly brewed; it's a must-try for anyone who appreciates a good cup of tea.

Beyond the fantastic food, the customer service was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel special. Knowing that it's a family business, with the owner hailing from Brooklyn and his son working alongside, added a personal touch to the experience.

What really stood out was how fresh everything tasted. It's evident that they take pride in their craft, using the finest ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes. I was even informed that a new batch of the Bee Hive was coming out of the oven soon – talk about dedication to freshness!

In summary, Socotra Cafe is a hidden gem that offers not only outstanding food but also a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I can't wait to return and savor more of their delectable creations. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit – you won't be disappointed!

I had heard good things about this place, but my experience was absolutely fantastic. My experience was wonderful. If you are in town you should absolutely go here.

I asked the fellow behind the counter for a drink recommendation. I forget which he gave me, but it was literally the best chai that I have ever had. Very forward cardamon flavor, but it wasn't overpowering like many cardamon teas I've had in the past. This was very light and flavorful and refreshing.

I also had a dessert which I believe was called Beehive Cheese, it was like a cross between cheese danish and monkey bread. Saying that doesn't describe how absolutely tasty it was. It was light and drizzled with honey, and so easy to pull apart, and I don't have the culinary vocabulary to describe how much I liked this. See my attached photo, this was a large portion of food. Between this and my drink, my total was about ten dollars before tip - significantly cheaper than other cafes I frequent.

The decor was humble. It wasn't extravagant or garish, it was practical and aesthetically pleasing. It was comfortable. It was a cozy atmosphere. There was a canopy of fake vines which was a particularly nice touch, but again, it did not distract our attention away from our food and drink, or away from each other.

The man behind the counter was friendly and affable. The man from the kitchen came out to check on us, and he was similarly pleasant. Honestly, my only criticism is that the exterior looks uninviting - once I passed through the front door, there was not a single thing I'd change.

Please do yourself a favor, and make this cafe a regular destination.

Came here with a coworker based on a recommendation from the librarians at the Lackawanna library down the street.

And boy, is this place amazing. The owner has so much energy and is so incredibly friendly and is running such a wonderful shop. Was so interested by the menu that I ended up ordering a mint/lemon "smoothie" which is more like mint infused lemonade (and is delicious), a cortado (wonderfully and freshly prepared) and, at the owner's recommendation, a hot adeni chai tea (which absolutely blew my mind). I only wish I'd thought to order a pastry as well.

Really loved this place and so much respect to the owner for running such a cool place. Also the interior design is great. This place is definitely worth stopping by at.

A friend recommended stopping here earlier in the day. I happened to be in the general area so I stopped in with my mom. She had an iced caramel macchiato with the Jubin & Halawa sandwich. Both were fantastic. The sandwich had a nice sweetness to it that gave it a wonderful flavor.

I tried a hot caramel macchiato with the Eggs n such sandwich. Again both were delicious. The sauce on the sandwich brought some heat and complemented the eggs and tomatoes very well.

We finished it off with a sample of the Harazi coffee. Wonderfully spiced. They roast the beans in house for an extremely fresh brew.

I would highly recommend. Awesome staff and I will look forward to trying more things next time I go.

My wife found this cozy cafe on our way back from a wedding in Canada.

The coffee and chai were amazing; the breakfast sandwich (I believe it was egg and beef on a roll?) that we had was, to quote my wife, “the best breakfast sandwich that she had ever had in her life.”

The egg and the meat were prepared in a very careful well that highlighted their respective flavours.

I highly recommend and encourage anyone nearby to visit!

Bonus: Had a fun conversation with the owner, Mo, while we were there - super fun guy!

Excellent food, drinks, and service! I would go out of my way to come back here. Excellent breakfast sandwiches to start the day. I also got the mango, date, and honey smoothie which was amazing. Do not miss this place.

Came here today for the first time. Just amazing. Traditional taste. I had the Adani tea and piece of the bee hive. The bee hive was truly amazing. It was warm soft and pillowy with the cream cheese in the middle and a touch of sweetness from the honey and the tea just compliments it very well. This will definitely be my regular spot from now on.

Found a review for this place on tik tok. Went here with a bunch of people after a wedding ceremony and it was the best experience. The people who run it are amazingly kind. They gave us the opportunity to smell the different coffees and chais. Everything that was purchased by the group was enjoyed. Highly recommend if you are looking for some great coffee with golf vibes.

Great tea and environment. The adeni chai is so good and so addicting! I tried the beehive pastry as well which pairs very nicely with the tea. I would love stopping by here late at night, even on weekdays, and am sad that the hours changed to 7 pm. I hope there’s at least a few late hours on the weekend since the chai really hits the spot on a late night.

This is an amazing little cafe! The store is beautiful and the owners were very friendly and generous. The woman who made our order insisted that we try the baklava (which was excellent btw), and the coffee was perfect. I had to buy a treat on my way out. Stop in, seriously. If you really enjoy coffee and homemade pastries at an extremely reasonable price, go here!

Wow! Simply amazing. I stopped for a quick cup of chai tea (tasty and not overpoweringly sweet like other palaces), but also decided to get a slice of the beehive to go, as my plan was to share it with my fiancé when he got home from work…poor guy, never had a chance! I gulped this down in under 5 mins soon after I sat down to take this picture and had a taste (whoops!) DEFINITELY WILL BE COMING BACK!

Came in for the first time today and loved what we got. We got a breakfast sandwich, a slice of the beehive pastry pie, and an adeni chai. Everything was delicious. The chai had a sweetness to it but it wasn't too sweet, just like the beehive pie. I'd suggest sharing the slice of pie with someone because it is a big slice. All the spices had a wonderful depth too. The restaurant is delightfully decorated as well 😊
