The Mill at Hickman Farms

I have been meaning to check out this place since I heard about it several weeks ago and finally got a chance to stop by this morning. Oh wow, what a gem! Delicious tenderloin biscuits, fresh orchard apples, fresh sorghum molasses milled and cooked on location!!

Those of us who live nearby only have a couple options for local breakfast/lunch places, and this one has become my favorite! I look forward to future breakfasts and checking out the delicious looking options on the lunch menu.

This has become one of our favorite places to eat.. great food but the welcoming family atmosphere and beautiful country views will definitely have you going back.

Such a cute idea but a very underwhelming experience. The food is delivered to your table on disposable plates with wrapped plastic utensils. Definitely not the way I ate my “Grandma’s house” which is their concept. It’s hard to cut meat with a plastic knife.

As for the food, there is plenty of room for improvement- cold meat lacking in flavor, lukewarm/cold “cooked” bland sides (none of which were green) and the corn muffins were disastrous…very peppery and extremely dense served without butter ( they only offered jelly).

Definitely not worth the drive to the middle of nowhere for a meal.
