M & M's

We dine here every few years when we are in the area and M& M never disappoints. The seafood is always fresh as expected and the service was spot on. Will definitely recommend to anyone traveling thru or visiting Oriental NC. 😊

This delightful place in this tiny town, the sailing capital of North Carolina, is nestled on "Water" street, just next to the harbor. Good food at reasonable prices, and excellent service. Quite a pleasant surprising find, and oh, so very much better than any of the fast food places.
Still a lovely place! Calm and quiet. Great food at reasonable prices. This was our 4th visit. We drive an hour to get there, and will go back again. It is our refuge from the "storms" of life.

Quiet town on the water. Exactly what we like, the food was delish! If you are looking for fancy dining, its not for you, but thats not important to us. Good food, good service and a peaceful setting in October. Perfect!

Many people have never heard of Oriental, NC much less one of the best restaurants there - M&M’s. It’s been around a long time now and the locals know what visitors soon find out, it is a great place for good food and socializing. Whether you are a thirsty sailor, hungry farmer or passing tourist (likely dropping off your kids at one of the camps in the area) there is something for everyone.

I’ve been away from Oriental for a couple of years. There’s been a lot of changes but thankfully M&M’s is not one of them. It is still a great place for good food complemented by great service.

My most recent stop was to try the soft shell crab sandwich. Good stuff! A lightly fried soft shell crab perched on a kaiser roll with lettuce, tomato and some remoulade sauce was just what I needed. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

What an outstanding food find!!! This place is in Oriental, NC and is a must visit. I found a delicious new beer to drink. The calamari was excellent my crab roll was to die for. Mom had the Cubano that was different but amazing. The chocolate cake was fabulous. Service was outstanding and friendly. Thanks Taylor!!! She pointed out that she learned how to be a good server from her boss Dave. (Got your back T!)

Definitely a must do if you're in oriental NC. I had the shrimp and scallops penne and it didn't dissapoint. Huge portions without sacrificing the taste. They didn't skimp on the seafood either.

Update: Monday is sushi night.

Best mozzarella sticks I've ever had with a very generous portion of marinara - delicious!

Fish filet was utterly unparalleled! Best my fiance has had (which is saying quite a lot), although he didn't enjoy the vinegar "drizzle" on the slaw and actually didn't eat it.

The blackened chicken sandwich didn't have any condiment on it, but it was so moist and tasty I didn't miss it. Absolutely perfectly crisp sweet potato fries as well.

We had the M&M brownie sundae with icecream (forgot to take a pic), and it was big enough to share and very good.

Desserts and appetizers are on the board if they are serving them so don't go strictly by the menu provided online.

Absolutely love this restaurant! My parents moved to Oriental a few years ago, and every time I visit we always go to M&M’s. This past weekend they just happen to have a lobstah roll on the special’s menu …naked with drizzled butter. I should have ordered two! Visiting from DC, I come to Oriental for a little peace….M&M’s never disappoints with a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Add eating at M&M’s on your must-do list!

A family member from Raleigh suggested we try M&Ms and it was GREAT!!! We had the crab rolls and they were delicious! The rolls were full of crab!!! We would definitely return when we are in the area. Service was excellent also. Mya and Shelby were so nice to us. I definitely recommend the crab rolls for sure. This was our first experience, since we live in Florida, but we will be back! 😊

Such a cute local restaurant. We are at the bar. The food was fresh and hot. Nothing haute cuisine but very solid. Everyone was super friendly. Arlene the bartender was very nice. We look forward to going back on our next visit to Oriental.

We had a fantastic on a beautiful Saturday evening. The weather was perfect for sitting outside in the screened in porch. We were seated immediately despite arriving at peak dinner hour (7pm) and drink orders were taken within 5 minutes of arrival. We (bride and I) ordered a bowl of crab/corn chowder to split for a starter and she had a large Greek salad and I had the Lambchop special. The HUGE bowl soup arrived piping hot and the corn and crab played well off eachother and delivered a sweet, velvety taste of the sea! My wife’s salad was.a large bowl of greens, feta, kalamata olives, cucumbers, pepperoncini, onions and ripe tomatoes. She was VERY pleased with the homemade Greek dressing she ordered on the side. My lambchops (3) were large and meaty and cooked exactly to order (med rare)! They were seasoned perfectly and the two sides I ordered (brussel sprouts and spinach) were both perfectly on point! I have to admit, after reading several disparaging (recent) reviews we were a little suspect, but do not worry, this place knows their stuff (both front on the house and kitchen) and they take great pride in delivering a great experience! 5-Stars here folks…and great prices to boot!

Always a great time at M&M’s! The staff are so friendly, great atmosphere and the food is delicious. Make sure to try the carrot cake or key lime pie!

Delicious Christmas Eve lunch, crab cake on a Greek salad and fried flounder sandwich, both fresh and cooked to perfection. Friendly, efficient service, and proper Covid precautions. Highly recommend

Everything was delicious. Our table had hamburger vegetable soup, fried shrimp, shrimp sandwich and a side salad.

One of my favorite restaurants in Oriental. Literally everything on the menu is great; I've never had a bad meal here. The quesadillas and shrimp basket are particularly good. Even though it's not directly on the water, it's easy to boat in and walk over. Service is always good.

This place is a sprawling vintage beachside building. About half the building is a screened-in porch. It's filled with a bustling, friendly crowd of locals, sailors and visitors. There's a large comfortable bar stretching along the entrance-side and old-fashioned beach-style seating for individuals and groups arrayed under wide ceilings lined with spinning fans. If I lived here I'd be here every other day.

All of the restaurants in Oriental that we ate at were great, but M & M's was fantastic! Ample portions, seasoned and cooked perfectly - outstanding service and atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting when in town!

LOVE THIS PLACE! I try to go on every visit to Oriental. They have an extensive menu to please everyone that walks thru their doors. I've thoroughly enjoying everything I've chosen. Don't miss the specials boards near the front door. Outdoor seating is protected so even if the weather isn't perfect, your visit and meal will be! Don't wait to try for yourself!

The food was delicious, and the staff checked on us frequently, and refilled our drinks before we even asked. We had lamb chops, baby back ribs, sautéed spinach, and homemade carrot cake and key lime pie. We ate indoors, but they have outdoor screened in seating as well. We'll be back!

We had the flounder with sweet potato fries. Even though it was fried, the batter was light and you couldn't taste the oil on the flounder or the fries. We sat out on the screened porch and enjoyed the fresh air and the food. Service was great too!
