This place has been great every time I have visited, rain, snow, or shine. I cannot wait to return! All the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Mt Tallac is an amazing hike. Take a swimsuit so you can enjoy the small lakes on the way up the mountain.

Wonderful stay. The staff was helpful and accommodating. They went about e and beyond to help my family and I create meaningful memories. Weill definitely be going back this summer. Food options were great, satisfied even the pickiest of eaters.

In the snow it was all pretty magical and a great place to build experiences as a family.

If you go to Camp Richardson for the rooms you're missing the point of being there. That said, although the rooms are pretty basic they are decently appointed and beds were warm and comfortable. Folks who work there are friendly and helpful, and I appreciate their down to earth, "We work at a 1920s resort in a national forest, cool!" attitude.

The Lodge has a decently sized lobby lounge that is comfortable and feels like something you'd find at a smaller but historic national park.

Although the Lodge is pretty close to the two-lane highway, it was quiet and the road was not a feature of being there.

There are lovely cabins scattered through the forest, a general store with winter clothes & camp swag (replacement gloves at reasonable cost, yay), and friendly staff and a kitchen where we ate breakfast (choc chip pancakes, egg & sausage muffin, breakfast burrito, coffee, etc). Camp also has a good bar and restaurant at the beach about 100 feet from the lake shore (sunset at the lake!) and in the summer there is a marina facility with beach/boat rentals. Across the highway is a place to rent stuff like snowshoes, and there are trails to explore.

(Visited during winter, so summer activities were not available)

We had already gotten an Airbnb in Placerville but drove to Lake Tahoe and went through Camp Richardson and because we saw all the activities...bike riding, ice cream parlor, cafe/shop, tents. Rvs, beach area by Beacons, live music, kayaking, paddle boards, jet ski rentals, etc. We decided we had to stay there so we took a chance on Camp Richardson Hotel to stay 1 night and it was sooo Worth it. We were lucky they had a couple of rooms available. Camp Richardson is the place to be. We had an incredible time. The room was a typical cabin feel..older hotel but it had charm and we were just greatful to find a reasonably priced room on short notice. It was a $190 with tax for a queen size bed. We're from Texas so the No a/c thing was a little hard to get used to and even though it got down to 45, the breeze wasn't coming in, for some reason, even with the windows open and the road noise was a little loud in the middle of the night but other than that we really enjoyed it. We will be back, for sure, and we highly recommend.

Friendly staff and perfect spot near the lake. Loved when teenage girls came in to ask for keys to the cabin and staff told them they needed to get permission from the reservation holder. The indignant teens didn't deter the hotel staff from keeping it real. Loved that. Staff also helped me snag a camp site even tho it was Friday at 5pm and the. Website showed no availability. Love the bike trails nearby, access to fallen leaf lake, and the chill vibe of the campground. Bathrooms were super clean too. Wifi in the hotel lobby was added plus.

Quick trip to enjoy some quiet unplugged time in beautiful Southern Lake Tahoe, California.
We love Camp Richardson!! First visited August 1983. Stayed on the other side of the road.
We've stayed in the Fleetwood cabin but this time, T-Bird. Fantastic views, so much room! Storage for whatever you bring (sleeps eight). Heaters for those cold nights. Fully stocked kitchen.(utensils, dinnerware, cookware, not food. But, a full sized refrigerator)
Prime location during the winter. It's next to the volleyball court so no one was using it in the snow.
I highly recommend a stay here. We've also stayed at the Beachside Inn. Best option during the summer if you don't want to stay a week.
Staff is helpful and friendly.

This is probably the best campground I've been to so far. We rented an RV thru rv share and it was so much better because they deliver and set it up for us. We were pretty close to a hotel, store, restaurant and an ice cream parlor shop. It was also great that our friends were nearby so we can all just go to each other's campsite. There were actual bear sitings because of the fires that happened so they're coming down to the camps. So no food whatsoever outside but they have bear lockers for that. Great experience and great times!

We stayed in a summer cabin while on site for a wedding. Location is amazing, and while the cabin was sterile, it could've used a bit more deep cleaning/maintenance. That said, we would do it all again for the location/atmosphere.

This was a perfect location for a family reunion. We had an excellent time. Many activities, bike rental, marina, and beach. Great general store.

Shhhhh don’t tell anyone. This is probably one of the best stays in SLT. Great general store and a very short walk from a gorgeous beach. If you’re staying in the RV park, get one of the spots up front with full hook-ups. Deeper spots do not have sewer but there is a dump station. Lots of wild life - keep your food secure!

Camp Richardson is a great place to enjoy the winter at the lake. The staff is awesome. We really enjoyed the hotel as well as the cabins. Not much for the general public in bulk but I would imagine it's as great in the summer minus the crowds. I will go back several times

Stayed in the Willie's Knight was lovely open to the lake with heating and all the necessities. Check out was at 10 and I had house keepers coming to my door with all there supplies and leaving it on the door steep as they sit in front chatting. Felt very rushed. The little markets breakfast is wonderful

The best hotel in Lake Tahoe.

Great location and a great walk-in rate (Reservations are much more expensive!).

The rooms are quite small, but have great views, especially in winter. Wifi connection is bad in the cabins, which check in at the same desk as the hotel in the lobby. Wifi is also annoying in the hotel because every time you turn on your device, you have to enter the password again, which should be fixed. The Wifi password is changed every month. There is a nice, large fireplace in the lobby. There is also a TV in the lobby for guests, as the rooms do not have TV's. The lobby can get very loud when the TV is put on high volume, which is very annoying for other people there.

Still the best hotel in Lake Tahoe, though!

Beautiful place in the wood.
A bit noisy but other than that it's OK.
