You really can’t find better training or staff for dance in SE Michigan! Our family has been a part of the SDW family for 10+ years, and making the choice to dance at Spotlight was the best decision we made for our dance training! My daughter danced here last season with Ms. Stephanie who was a fantastic preschool ballet & tap teacher. This place is run extremely well from online registration to picture day to the recital they are a well oiled machine and emails were always answered very quickly. I have had a variety of dance experience, and any day I would put spotlight at the top of my list. I began dancing there as a young girl on a very low level. I am from Port Huron, MI so initially my family was concerned with travel involved to the studio. It didn't take long for the drive to be more than worth it. So much so that my family has been involved with the studio for over 10 years. The faculty is so amazing, supportive and giving. There is no other place I would've rather spent my childhood.

We moved to the area this past year and needed to find a new studio. We're so glad we took so many other's recommendations and joined Spotlight! Brenna loves to dance and I know that she is getting the very best training while having an awesome time. She is continuing her ballet and starting contemporary next. Can't wait for this season to start!!

SDW was our home away from home for all of my daughter’s teen years. She grew not only as a dancer, but as a leader and person. Liz, Jenny, Linda and the other teachers care about each student and build upon their strengths. We made lifelong friends that are more like family. Best studio in the area!

Several years ago we were searching for a new dance studio. We received many recommendations to check out Spotlight Dance Works. While it was a little scary leaving the studio my daughters' started out in, the moment we met Liz Schmidt and Linda Schmidt, we knew we were joining the right facility. They have treated us like family over the years, my daughters' learned, worked hard and grew as dancers, students and people. I am so very proud of them and I know that a good portion of who they are is the direct result of the training, nurturing and guidance Spotlight Dance Works invested in them. My oldest daughter is now pursuing dance in college and my youngest has three more years to train before she begins her collegiate journey. The teachers and staff at Spotlight Dance Works are outstanding and offer exceptional education in every genre including, ballet, contemporary, tap, jazz, musical theater and hip hop. It is an excellent combination of nurturing leadership, effective training, unique choreography, and multiple opportunities to grow as a dancer. Liz and the entire staff provided such valuable guidance to my daughter as she navigated the college dance program application and audition process.

there are too many amazing things about SDW. this is the studio for anyone. Liz is an incredible director, the staff of teachers are superb, and the studio is welcoming to all. You will get the top of the line dance education here!

Me as a dancer it's amazing her!❤ and all the dancers here are so nice and talented. All of the teachers are so sweet and teach you so much and there also supper chill. And the teenagers are the most coop part about it there SUPPER tanlted and really nice to. When I see them dance I cry not bc it's bad bc it's so good❤❤💖. Yes go to this dance company you won't regret it!
