LaFata Cabinets

We have had a great experience with LaFata a year ago. After visiting and getting quotes from more than 10 big box stores and specialized kitchen cabinets companies we decided to go with LaFata and don’t regret it.
The cabinets were delivered on time as promised, the price was reasonable. I would also say that the quality of the cabinets is great.
Colleen advised us on the layout and made suggestions on the design. She was knowledgeable and easy person to deal with - thank you!!

We recently had LaFata design a custom vanity for our master bath. The quality, service and attention to detail was extremely good and we are very satisfied. Our design consultant was Monna and she was outstanding. She answered every question we had, patiently worked with us during the design, and gave great recommendations. To start you need to know that my career was working on advanced engineering development with the studios in the automotive industry before I retired in 2021. Hence my wife and I are quite particular about colors, fit/finish, and engineering robustness for how things are installed.

To start, Lafata initially was not our first choice. But after spending better than six months looking at cabinets, and companies to do the remodel we found our selves coming back to the Lafata Cabinets, they seemed like the best cabinets. Seemed like a great value for what you are getting. We got three quotes from competitors, and investigated/visited at least 10 other options including me being the contractor. Lafata made the most sense for design, quality, and cost. They were not the cheapest, and not the most expensive.

We hired Lafata to do the whole job, complete demo of kitchen and great room. Cabinets, relocate appliances, new flooring, electrical, plumbing, counter tops etc.

The design process was smooth. Brian was attentive, patient with last minutes changes. And has a solid engineering back ground to support his interior design skills. The other thing we liked is that we could have a custom kitchen. With the exception of cabinets, we pretty much had the freedom to pick our countertops, tile, floors, lighting etc from who ever we wanted. Lafata had recommendations but your hands are not tied. The other two places the we got quotes from had no choices. You used the products/manufacturers that they carried/sold and that was it, no compromises. For the money we were spending it would not be a custom kitchen, that was a deal breaker.

Now comes the glory part. As with any huge tear up of your home while you are living in it, you as a customer will be stressed living as if you are camping. To my surprise it was not that bad, even though we started in Jan and finished in Feb.

We were fortunate that Tom Dilorenzo managed the project as if it were his own home. I was hands off by choice other than nit picking certain aspects, which the crews graciously accepted with patience and humility. He managed to balance his commitment to Lafata as an employee, and his commitment to represent us to make sure we were happy with the process and outcome of the job.

The Job started on time, and finished on time. (5-weeks)

It is clear that Tom has a solid re-pore with all of the contractors. Everyone arrived and finished per the schedule that Tom provided and managed. All of the contractors were professional, respectful, and competent.

Juan the installer hung the cabinets as if he were installing them in a fancy art gallery.

Then comes Vince, when all is said and done naturally you will start to notice little things that you never noticed before. Vince was the guy that came in and sealed the deal. He finished off all of the trim with perfection, and addressed all of the nit-pick items, even had him do something’s twice LOL.

Lastly and Most importantly, I can not think of one situation that our satisfaction was not the priority. Each issue, and there will be some turned out better than what the original design plan was.

I just can’t say enough. Anyhow I hope this was helpful to those trying to understand the risks/rewards of working with Lafata and TOM.

Hiring Lafata has been one of our better financial decisions, and the outcome rivals with the shows that you see on HGTV. Just look at the pictures.

We worked with Anthony Russo to design our kitchen and select our cabinets. We were given a schedule of work by Tom DeLorenzo.
First let me say, I never dreamed I would have a kitchen this beautiful and functional. It’s fun to cook in it. We both just love the finished kitchen.
Secondly, the schedule was stuck to, to the day. There was one little glitch at the very end and that was corrected.
And finally, the entire LaFata crew was professional and personable.
We would highly recommend them.

We recently completed a kitchen and flooring renovation with La Fata and were so appreciative of the fantastic experience we had with them. Brain in the design center was extremely helpful, making suggestions and giving us thoughtful options consistent with how we envisioned the overall project. Tom was fantastic in overseeing the actual work and coordinating the subcontractors. He kept us posted on who was coming and when they would be here. All the subcontractors (plumbing, electrical, backsplash/tiling, counters and flooring) were absolutely easy to work with and every worker in the entire process was professional, respectful and did everything they could to make this process as easy on us as possible. We can’t say enough about how much we love our new kitchen and floors and we highly recommend the La Fata team.

Lafata just finished remodeling our Kitchen. We had gotten several quotes and we loved the whole process at Lafata, the best out of the other companies. We met with our designer Anthony first at Lafata. He was great to work with and helped my wife design a kitchen of her dreams. The person who came out to do the initial measurements steered my wife away from a couple of ideas that she had because they would have not looked right in the final install. He was so right, but the other companies all acted like they could do anything.. He was honest with us and we really appreciated his input. Before they quoted the job, they had us go to pick out our countertop at Diamond and our backsplash tile at Casa bella tile. This way it was all in the quote and no surprises down the line. The price is the price.. It never changed. We were shocked at how quickly they got the project done. Tom was the project manager and he does a brilliant job at scheduling all the different contractors. They cleaned up everyday, were respectful and answered our many questions or concerns. All in all a great experience. Some very small issues in the end that were quickly solved. When we redo our bathrooms, we will definitely look them up!!

From the time I contacted my salesman at Lafata Cabinets my salesman was Anthony Russo very professional he explained everything and showed me the quality job time with us showed us the factory I was impressed as a carpenter my whole life and the union carpenter for UBC I have installed kitchen cabinets all over the country so I can tell you the quality was great they fit together like a glove thank you again Lafata Cabinets I will tell everybody you got a five in my book job well done keep it up

LaFata Cabinets is the best company we have dealt with in Michigan. (many contractors here in Michigan seem to lack people skills and job skills)

i ordered a single bath cabinet, i was concerned about making sure the measurements were correct. Brain checked and double checked the clearances and confirmed this will fit. went to install it and it fit like a glove! perfect fit! Nice job Brian!!! Five Stars!!!!!!

This review is a long time coming. LaFata did my cabinets 2 and a half years ago. I almost didnt go there because I thought they would be too expensive. Boy was I wrong! The price was even better than the big box stores and the quality is great! Monna my design person was so knowledgeable and her ideas for a more modern kitchen fit mine. Everything went well through the whole process. They were on time and the quality is wonderful! I recommend LaFada to anyone looking to remodel a home or build a new one.

I wasn’t going to go with Lafata because of the reviews. I can honestly say they did an excellent job! They were prompt, on time and very clean. I did get my floors for a few months after and they were in as soon as the floors were in to finish the trim work. All my cabinets look amazing, I can’t say enough good things about them. After a bad start on the promise date of the design, LaFata stepped up and made it right. It was a misunderstanding on the deliverables of our follow-up meeting. We are excited to move forward with the design on our project. Will follow-up on how the project progresses.

Outstanding experience! Visited LaFata's showroom to see what they had and was taken on a tour behind their showroom where they build the cabinets ~ so impressive! LaFata then worked with us to design our dream kitchen within our budget. Had our LaFata Cabinets installed this past week and couldn't be happier! Craftsmanship is top-notch and cabinets are stunningly beautiful. LaFata installers Tom and William did an impeccable job with installation in two days. Highly, highly recommended!

We had a bathroom vanity designed and built, and their staff was easy to work with from the beginning to the end. Our top was purchased from a different company, but the LaFata sales staff helped us with the dimensions so that we could have it fit correctly. It was completed on time, and our contractor had no problems installing the three pieces and the trim. I'm so happy that we went with their cabinet. The construction is solid, and the storage spaces are true sized unlike big box store pieces that come with smaller drawers and flimsy hardware that causes misalignment of the doors and drawers. I've purchased that junk in the past, but never again. I will certainly give LaFata a call again for our next building projects.
