Our first time here over Memorial Day weekend. I called earlier in the day before we arrived and spoke with a very pleasant woman. The office staff was very friendly and organized. The site was fine . Not sure about the people complaining in their reviews- we have a large pickup and trailer and had no issues getting in or out. The waterfront is peaceful and beautiful. My 3 year old grandson had a great time! We plan on coming back as we live fairly close.
There is a campground a little bit closer to home that we had tried the last 2 years. Not friendly and very controlling- this was a breath of fresh air!

Patten Pond Campground was great!! Our site #305 was level, nicely treed and just a short walk down to the sandy beach. Loved the loon calls in the morning. Bath house/showers were convenient and clean. I had read some negative reviews and they were completely unfounded. They actually have quite a few returning customers. Very friendly place. we would definitely stay at Patten Pond again!!

This is a lovely wooded campground that will temp you out of doors! Swim at the sandy beach on Patten Pond or kayak, or fish. There is a large shaded playground for kids as well as a large green for setting up outdoor games. There are more price levels here than I have seen anywhere else - and we’ve been full time RV’ers for 2 years. Friendly, helpful staff. Very close to Acadia National Park and other scenic attractions.

We stayed under our Thousand Trails membership and enjoyed the campground. It is about 45 min to Bar Harbor and Arcadia National Park. Campground was clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent campground to stay at when visiting the Maine coast in the summer.
Convenient to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor without all the crazy crowds.
The campground can accommodate just about any size RV. Nice lake swimming area.

This camping resort is fantastic - wooded area with a large lake, very quite, and other campers were very friendly. We rented a cabin (not sure if it was called a cabin because it was like a mini mobile home) for 7 day and it was in great condition. It is located a short half hour drive from Arcadia National Park and would definitely book there again. Two complaints... The water heater in the cabin/mini mobile home is SUPER SMALL. The only way we could take showers was to get wet, turn off the water, soap up, turn the water on and rinse off and, AND you still ran out of hot water. For a family of 4 this was unacceptable. The other complaint is the need a long fishing pier for anglers. The lake is great but to shallow at the shore for good fishing. If they would install a very long pier just for anglers it would make this location heaven. Regardless we had a great time.

We had the best time while staying here this summer! We stayed in two cabins with friends for the weekend and the staff and the grounds were wonderful. We found a gem and are so happy we did! Our kids ages ranged from 2-8 and we rented a paddle boat and canoe and fished the one day and caught some bass!
So happy we got to enjoy our first trip to Maine while staying at such a nice and well kept camping ground.

Great campground with beautiful views of the lake. They allow shipping packages and have a great balance of sites for seasonal and travelers.

It does get very dusty with the gravel and is a little far outside of Bar Harbor. However, it is a nice quiet location.

ATT cell service was moderate. We were able to stream and work on the hotspot. Download speeds were about 12-15. Upload speeds were not that great but we made it work with video calls and streaming for two weeks.

Verizon was a little better.

We like everything here... easy rsvp, super easy to find and check in! Kind helpful staff... clean organized campground with many sites filled with families and retired folks. Our 65' pull in site was level, wide enough for our Class A rig.... but we do feel a little on top of each other, a little vegetation between sites could help with that. Great location with beautiful lake views.

We loved Patten Pond. It had a little more of a state park feel. The people were friendly, and the park was clean and well kept. The “pond” was more of a lake. People had motor boats, jet skis, kayaks and SUPs on the lake. It wasn’t too cold for swimming in late July/early August. It was quiet and dark at night. On clear nights you could sometimes see the Milky Way at the lake. It was a good 30-40 minute or so drive to Acadia, but we did like escaping the crowds on the island. Ellsworth is a nice town and not too far for groceries and other stores. We stayed a couple different times. Our first site was 440 w FHU and 50 amp. It was good but a little tight. The second time we were in site 201 on 30 amp. We really loved this spot. It was bigger and more shaded. It didn’t feel as much like an rv park. We had a good two days of rain while here, and the park drained well. We loved our time at Patten Pond and would return without question.

Patten Pond gets a solid five stars from me for many reasons. After staying in numerous campsites this summer while traveling, I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. Patten Pond is by far the best place I have stayed so far. Their bath house is very clean, with very private showers and changing rooms. The water is HOT and feels great after a day hiking Acadia National Park, which is less than an hour away! For such a popular area their prices were extremely reasonable and the young woman running the desk the day I called(Susan, maybe?) was really kind, helpful and patient in getting us the site that suited us best. Also, the quiet hours were respectfully observed which is very rare for campsites in my opinion. By 10 o'clock my tent zipper seamed like the loudest noise in the camp! Making it very peaceful to fall asleep early to charge up for a big day in Acadia! Thank you for the amazing stay!

We stayed here as part of our Thousand Trails pass so it was free to us. The sites are super close together and because it’s Aug in Maine the park remains really full. The pond is actually pretty large. We went kayaking in it a couple times and my husband caught a few small bass.
The Beach area is nice and groomed and even has a floating dock to relax on if you like. The park employee/hosts where always helpful and super nice
Cons- The road coming into the park is a dirt road It’s a long dusty road and your vehicle gets filthy every time you come and go. Keep your windows closed!!
WiFi is spotty at best.

This review is long overdue. I was to submit this upon my return and forgot, but here it is. Our stay was close enough to the Acadia NP at a reasonable price and the place was clean. Rules are clear and the people taking care of the place are flexible and very nice to people staying on their camp grounds. I would stay here again on my next ACADIA NP trip!

We had a lovely weekend with our teenaged daughters here! We stayed in a cottage because we wanted to try out a campground before buying a camper or r.v. We loved the area, Acadia and Bar Harbor. The cottage was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The lake was lovely to do some stand up paddle boarding (we brought our own, no rentals during covid). The lake seemed very shallow, but was great for what we did. Lots of families of all ages. Great experience!

Hidden campground down a long gravel road. Our site was near the front and very quiet. Campers adhered to the 5mph speed. Friendly staff. Nice spot to stay after long days exploring and hiking.

This is a beautiful campground. The staff is super friendly, helpful and genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. The lake is gorgeous and clean. The cabins are just big enough to comfortably sleep 5.

We came last year 2021 and liked it here because of the staff, seaonal campers were friendly, and most of the campsites are pull through. Yes, we came back this year 2022 and still love this place.

Loving this campground. Super cute, great swimming area in Patten Pond, free wifi and spots aren't terrible size. This is a must stop when traveling to the Bar Harbor area
