Get customer service. Our board game did not come complete, came back to the store and they ensured we had a complete board game. Now looking forward to hours of fun

Great store for people that don’t necessarily know what they want! Went in to pick out a birthday gift and ended up buying a kite and Rubik’s cube as well. A little more spendy compared to online but so many choices, and if you want to see it before you buy (and support local business) this is your place. Staff was courteous and helpful. Will definitely be back.

They have so much fun board games to choose from. We just bought our bingo game set.. so nice.. 😍

I cannot express how much I love this store. I know for fact I will buy something here if I pass the threshold. From puzzles to amazing games and trinkets there is always something I want. This is not to mention the extreme customer service. Each person who works there know so much about each game and if they are not expert, they can hand you off to someone who is. Make sure to join the frequent buyers club the first purchase you make, because YOU WILL BE BACK.

Longtime fan of the stores, and had an outstanding visit where the staff member pointed out the additional dice options behind the counter, and of course we had to get some mystery hafling dice. Would absolutely recommend the mystery dice options.

We really like Games by James. There's always a game we can find. Games by James has many games and puzzles to choose from. It is our number one place to go to for games, puzzles and more.

Showed up on vacation looking for a game to take home for a game night. An employee named Thyme helped us and not only gave us some good suggestions but was very knowledgeable about the games and overall a great help! He is one to keep around!

Can you buy games online? Of course. Can you get reviews online? Yep. But where else can you talk to employees who have an intimate knowledge of a zillion games? Not only that, but often times they have new games set out to demo and try out. Feel like a kid again and shop here!

The woman was very friendly and helpful. I like playing g board games do going to Games by James is always an adventure for. I like going to see what is new and also to get some favorites expansion packs for Cards Against Humanity.

Excellent selection of family games and strategy games for the advanced gamer. Fantasy Flight, Wizards of the Coast, Upper Deck -- all the great publishers have full representation here. Nice game play area at the back. No miniatures games seen but that's no loss in my book.

I always like going into this store because the people that work there know what they're talking about. The store is always very clean and they have a good selection. It's sad that because of the pandemic the gaming area is shut down but I'm sure they'll host games again when they can. Good selection of stuff for both casual and collector gamers.

Fun place with a variety of games and amusements. Helpful staff assisted me in discretely buying a gift for my son, who was in the store with me, without his knowledge. Their prices might not be the cheapest but it's helpful to have such a variety in one place.

They have great employees who are very friendly and knowledgeable about the products they sell.

Was very impressed with the knowledge of the staff (one guy). He recommended several games that he thought my 8 year old would enjoy and gave a brief but detailed rundown of each of them helping me make an informed decision. Great selection and excellent customer service.

One of the bigger locations. They also have a Yard Games By James right next door that has cornhole, large-sized Connect 4, and a set of reclining massage chairs. It's a good place to get off of your feet. The staff is knowledgeable & friendly!!

I don't look away at toys. My avatar face is solid metal see who blinks first. I only wish I had more time, this particular Southdale store exhibited far more board games then Ridgedale's last I went. In comparison Southdale is stacked to the ceiling with isles of board games, but I am more into the quarky expiriment type products of science, and unusual mind toys. Ridgedale had 3 to 5 fun electronic "all in one" learning kits and variant other science stuff, even quartz rock, man, I bought that. I noticed one "all in one" electronics project at Southdale, and board/card game heaven. Least one star is just that I will go to their other store for five star. Seeking more of a bar/traveling games and puzzels as well hands on mind benders, their Mall of America store is great for that.

Helpful staff who can help you find matches in the huge selection - or just have a conversation if it's not busy. Great local option for games and hobbies!

Fantastic store. I am from out of town and I didn’t feel unwelcome here. Loved the mini edh tournament and if I ever find myself in the twin cities again, I’ll be back for sure.

Great fun! Classic board games, interesting games, strategy games, puzzles, cool cribbage boards, learning games, and pretty dice. They have tester games so you can try before you buy.
