The Grind Coffee House

The Grind Coffee House is a super cute new cafe in Fairview Heights. I don't know of anywhere else in Fairview to sit down and enjoy a full breakfast and drink besides St. Louis Bread Co.
The Grind offers a spot for locals to support their community and this small business. The neighborhood is lucky to have this space. It's remote-work friendly, comfy-cozy, relaxing, and owned and operated by the sweetest mother-daughter duo- Denita and Stella.

My mom and I enjoyed egg sandwiches with bacon, mine on toast and hers on a bagel. I was surprised to receive such a large and rich sandwich for the price we paid. I'm often a bit disappointed by cafes' breakfast item prices and left wanting more, this was not the case! I was barely able to finish the sandwich and drink during our visit, it was so filling.

Denita made me the creamiest hot chai latte. My mom tried it (she has never enjoyed chai) and really loved it! We will definitely be back.

Great local coffee shop! The staff were very pleasant, and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely be going back. I had a a bacon egg and cheese bagel, and it was delicious and very filling.

Our first experience was great! The staff were friendly, patient, and professional. The pumpkin spice latte was perfect and they have THE BEST egg bites I’ve ever eaten hands down. My husband ordered the breakfast bowl which was also amazing. The place is very clean and cozy.

Stopped in with a couple co-workers over lunch for some coffee. It was our first time being there and it was empty, aside from the owner. She was very lovely. The inside is nice and spacious, calming music playing, clean. It was a nice place to sit and chat for a while. I got an iced white mocha and it was good. Prices are very reasonable. We'll be back.

Wonderful food and such a sweet owner. She cooks, cleans, takes orders, and makes drinks. Don’t go if you don’t have a lot of time, as it can take her a bit to get to your order. Just enjoy the atmosphere, the food is well worth it!

My wife and I had breakfast at the Grind Coffee House and we LOVED it! The food was incredible, very HOMEMADE! The owner is an amazing woman and she made us feel so welcome, like we were at her home! The restaurant is roomy, clean and has an incredible ambience. It feels so welcoming and comfortable and you feel like you're eating at a friend's home. I highly recommend visiting this incredible restaurant and experience the amazing food and atmosphere!

We are traveling from out of state and decided to stop in and try this place out. The atmosphere is great, the service was fantastic, the prices were very reasonable, the coffee was made to order and tasted great. It may not be the quickest way to get your morning brew, but in a world of convenience, this place is a breath of fresh air. I hope then all the best as their business grows!

Love this place. Had a breakfast sandwich with a butter pecan iced coffee that was delicious. Biscuits tasted homemade and were fluffy and real scrambled eggs were used for the sandwich. Cost was about $12. Will definitely be coming here for the home cooking and coffee. She has biscuits and gravy available too. Atmosphere is very welcoming for dining in also.

Ordered the vegetable omelette and an oat milk latte with honey! The food is high quality home style cooking, for a dine-in experience. Latte was so much better than at the box stores. There are big comfy chairs to relax in and friendly service. Great spot to take family or friends for a meal and a heart-to-heart! I will definitely be making this my new spot :-)

First time in & i wanted a quiet environment to work on my school work. Tired of the library and wanted a different settings. I actually don’t drink coffee but love the smell. I wish they would’ve had a special coffee brewing or that smell in the coffee shop. I did order a breakfast sandwich and OMG it was worth it $8.00 but didn’t get a thrown microwave sandwich like Starbucks. She actually cooked everything to order. The setting was awesome. They have menus like an actual restaurant which i think it would be better to just have it in front on the screen & not so many menu items. Overall i will be back and tell the owner to have that coffee smell !

What a hidden gem. Fantastic ice coffee at a good price. Great red velvet cake, best ive had in a while. You can truly tell it was homemade. The owner Denita was so friendly, awesome lady. Great coffee, wonderful cake and free wifi give em a try you won't regret it. Better and cheaper than their corporate competitors.

my new fav coffee shop!!! when you walk in, it’s clean, has relaxing music, and is nicely decorated. the two ladies working were extremely sweet!! i ordered an iced chai latte and an egg sausage sandwich… it was delicious and very flavorful. we will be frequenting :)

There’s a few reviews on here that say these ladies are rude, that couldn’t be further from the truth. When I went the food was good, the service was good, and the ladies were incredibly sweet. They even joked around with us during our wait. If those nice ladies were “rude” to you then you might want to look in the mirror and see if you’re the problem with your entitlement, and let’s face it, probably audacity. Also businesses are allowed to change their hours. I would love for them to be open on a day during the weekend as well, but I don’t fault them for wanting to not have to work 6-7 days a week. Go to the business during normal business hours. Again I highly recommend this place. Everything I had was delicious. And I’m a coffee snob.

The owner is so kind and food was delicious! She’s still working on what will permanently be on the menu so lots of options right now! We loved it

The owner stated that she was closed on Saturday’s but when she saw that she had customers she waited on us. That speaks volumes. The atmosphere was great. The food was absolutely fantastic. I will definitely make this a place to go all the time.

The best cheesiest, hot fresh sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. The iced coffee was to die for and you could feel the family love and the environment.

I was looking for a coffee latte that would match the flavor I had out of state. I've been trying several local coffee shops and franchises. Today, The Grind did a home run. Great flavor latte with oatmeal milk and sugar-free caramel syrup. Thank you!!
