Don Oscar's Cafe

Stopped in coincidentally today in the morning at 9am. I was greeted by a smiling staff. I had conversations with Lia and she was such a sweet young lady. I ordered the chorizo & potatoes empanada and also the chipotle chicken and the Italian sausage and beef empanada. They all came with a tummy hot sauce. I also tried the Cas drink which is a tropical mixture of fruits-It’s sour and sweet. I also tried the yuca breads with cheese and the other with guava which was sweet and savory. The coffee is also bold and “chocolatey” in flavor and has a pleasant aroma. The ambiance is serene and its clean and modern style. I highly recommend it

Don Oscar’s is my new favorite lunch spot! We stopped in and tried the Mano de Piedra sandwich, chipotle chicken/beef/cheese empanadas, southwest chicken sandwich, chicken cutlet wrap, pan con queso and freshly squeezed juices.

We were so excited to try everything and it didn’t disappoint. The sandwiches were all made to order and extremely flavorful (especially recommend the mano de piedra).

The empanadas were hands down the best we’ve ever had. They were very crispy and all had tasty filling.

The cafe is beautifully decorated and there’s seating in the back.We can’t wait to go back and try more!

Amazing food at this new family owned location. I came back to try the lunch special and loved the wings and fries. I’ve also tried their special Costa Rican coffee and dishes and it’s phenomenal! The empanadas are my favorite as well as their paninis. Definitely a must try for anyone in the area.

Staff was friendly. Burrito was the perfect snack, and tres leches was amazinggg!! It had a lot of the milk which is always what I look forward to

It was my first time trying Costa Rican cuisine. I loved how friendly and welcoming the staff was. The coffee was delicious I also tried the pesto turkey panini was on point and it came with curly fries.

Now I had to take home some goodies too. I took mano de piedra panini and it was extremely good. I absolutely loved it. I also took a tree leches and it was so moist and flavorful.

This cafe is a 10/10 definitely recommend it!!

Tried Don Oscar's Cafe ! Modern yet cozy atmosphere, another new place at the Somerville train station. Friendly staff, helpful and all smiles. :)
Bollo Relleno con crema (cream cheese pastry, perfectly not-too-sweet) and a Cafe latte (rich and sweet). And a manitas rellenas ("tastes like pizza!"), and spinach and cheese empenadas with hot sauce.

The kindest cashier in the world walked us through all of their unbelievably delicious pastry and ready food options - all really authentic Costa Rican food, corn empanadas, everything. Delicious, delicious, delicious. Plus the coffee was amazing! Get the cinnamon sugar cappuccino!

It's comfort food imbued with childhood memories and love.
Everytime I come here to Don Oscar's Cafe, it invokes nostalgia.
It makes me miss home and family.
Especially, my Titi.
I love all the food, the drinks, pastries are always fresh and true to origin.
I love the warmth of the staff.
It is a genuine welcome to come here and dine.

This is the place to come for a home cooked meal. The hot bar has great quick lunch options and their menu provides great breakfast items. Staff is wonderful, warm, and inviting! 10/10

My favorite place for breakfast and lunch. Today I had a bacon egg and cheese and I have to say it was the best one I ever had in my entire life. Coffee always the best. The ladies at Front always with a good attitude!

This place is amazing. The coffee's great, the empanadas are truly out of this world good, as are all the pastries I've tried. And such a friendly staff. So happy to have a perfect train station spot.

Snuggly situated in the train station side of the old Somerville station building is a cozy, welcoming, cafe. There's a wide selection of breakfast sandwiches, empanadas, paninis, wraps, salads, sweet treats, and more. They have some indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely worth checking out. Don't be afraid to venture off of main street to check this place out!

My coworkers and I come for empanadas all the time! The staff is very nice and they have the best empanadas in town. I recommend Don Oscar’s to everyone I know!

One of the friendliest places I’ve been too! My first time here and the girls up front were phenomenal. The food is great, definitely worth a visit!
