We stayed at the RV park for one night. It was truly amazing. The park was beautiful, there were so many nice people as well! The staff was great! They had a dump, trash, water hookups and electric! I had 4-5 bars of cell reception using Verizon. The public bathrooms were very big,non-connect, one person per room. I would however recommend using shower shoes when taking a shower, it was a little dirty! Just note that there are A LOT of flies! I want to come back again and again and I highly recommend it!

Had my wedding here out on the pier, we rented the pavilion for a reasonable price. It was a country themed wedding in the month of October, it was a little windy and made it a little bit cold but it was perfect. The staff even leaf blowed the walkway to the pier. Thank you to the staff for letting me have my dream wedding.

My brother and I had a great time. The White Oaks trail was did offer a minor challenge due to length and slight uneven terrain. The staff were lovely people, the lady with tge long braid was such an enjoyable person to talk to her. The lake is beautiful.

We camped here the second weekend in March 2022 and we made it right before it started snowing. The campground was pretty empty, it was only us and 3 other RVs. We were able to do most of the hiking in the morning while the snow was still on the ground except for one trail that you had to cross a small creek (didn't want to get our only shoes wet in freezing weather). The trails are easy to moderate. Our site was 75 and we had an amazing view of the lake. The bath house is one of the better that I have used in our state parks and looks to have been recently updated. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We will definitely be back in the future!

This place is wonderful! We were her for 4 days in December, and we were practically the only ones. Campgrounds are neat, all with grills and firepits. You can see the lake from almost all the campsites. Clean bathrooms, free hot showers. Very friendly park employees. There is a little shop in the reception, with fishing gear, some apparel, snacks, drinks and firewood. Nice playground for kids, also with infant swings.
There's a nice paved trail, and some unpaved more natural trails.
We didn't use any water facilities, so unable to review.
We had a great stay!!

Lake Charles is another Gem if the Arkansas State Parks. It is secluded and if you need anything you will need to travels some distance, but the parks has full hookups and some beautiful walking trails, great fishing docks. We enjoyed the lake kayaking. Did not enjoy the floating spiders during our visit as we kayaked o we the lake we got webbed good. But it was an enjoyable weeks at this park

I rented the yurt for a weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The yurt has three bunk beds, power by all three, a large table, a good deck, a grill, a fire pit, and a picnic table. The area is beautiful, swimming area is not far, and other campsites are far enough away.
While I was there, an electrician came out to check the circuit because they're adding a dual split for heat and air.
I will be back.... often.

Really like this place, just went the wrong time of, lots of Mosquitoes. We stay in the AAA (full hook ups) but the staff takes great care of everything, bath/ showers were super clean, per my friend. We had site #81 but I don't know if their's a bad site there. Their's different ways to get here, it is a year round campground, so if you're looking for something in this area, we may see you there...sorry my pictures aren't that helpful...

I've not been here in a few years. The park ranger was very much doing his job. Stopping speeding vehicles and walking the beach every so often. The swim area is free, however it is a swim at your own risk area as there is not a life guard on duty, and the closest ambulance is several towns away.

Molly the park interpreter was out showing animals, and pelts of animals we could see in the area. It was nice to see how excited she seemed about her job.

The park was clean, and typically is from memory. We did pick up a few things that didn't belong to us, but that's part of it right?

The camping area looked bigger than I recall it being and had two separate restrooms. I am unsure if they were bathe houses or just restrooms, but they had air conditioning. Most camp sites we found had power, and most were rented.

The park has a play ground not far from the swim beach, and several kids were using it. The park also has kayaks for rent. I don't have the schedule, but they also have planned things in the upcoming weeks

We plan to camp here in the near future! We will be renting some kayaks!

Great place for swimming and family fun. Looks like it would also be a fun camping area. Very clean restrooms. Swimming is free and although Visitor Center closes at 5 pm, the beach/swimming is open until dusk (around 8pm this time of year). Sandy beach area where kids can play in sand but man does the sand get everywhere. Luckily they have those little outdoor shower stations to wash it out of hair and off of feet. Picnic tables and grills for quick bbq if you bring stuff to cook. Very small nature center as well with a small handful of animals. Not very crowded usually which is also a plus.

All of the staff we encountered were friendly and informative! Love the office lady! We've stayed twice now, the campsites are awesome and super close to the water! The swimming area is by far my favorite part as it is amazing! Big beach, lots of shaded tables with grills. Theres a playground, multiple fishing piers, and several trails. This really is my favorite place to camp as a family! Would highly recommend.

The grounds are very clean and well kept, including the restrooms. It is really quiet and peaceful, you also see park rangers all throughout the day keeping an eye on the property.

We stayed in area C room/site 77: Water 50amp sewer, pads are concrete, it seemed that the uneven sites had separate tent sites already identified, it appeared that all sites in C had concrete pads for picnic table and grill, check in station has nice selection of common camping equipment, ice machine during business hrs, the road is asphalt and well maintained, sites are wooded with lots of shade, lots of hammock trees, fish were jumping, they call their sites rooms vice camp site, bathrooms were immaculate with toilet, sink, outlet, and shower, tested the sink and had hot water within a few seconds,

This was our first time to Lake Charles. Highly recommend! The campsites are right on the water. Very clean and maintained. Quiet and relaxing. The park ranger we talked to was very helpful. The swimming area was huge but alittle crowded. They offer kayak rentals at a fairly cheap rate. Great place!! We will be back for sure!
