Greenwell Motel

Since covid hit, I avoid big chain hotels and support the small mom and pop businesses. I picked this motel because reviews seemed good and it was a little motel .
Checked into my room and it was very nice and clean , great size for sleep in a quiet neighborhood off the main streets . Lady in office was super nice.
There is a mobile mini mart a block away with lots of fast food and drinks and a deli .
I've paid 3x the rate for other motels that weren't as nice and comfortable as this place. If your just looking for a quiet , clean , bed and TV and shower to rest, this is the place .

We stayed one night with our dog April 13, and everything was fine. And there’s a great old-fashioned ice cream shop across the road.

Very nice place. We usually use hotel chains using a loyalty card. We earn points on a credit card. In the last year the points required tripled. The nightly rates are double to triple.

I'm going back to basics. Good clean comfortable old school hotels with good ratings. At a great price.

This hotel is all that. Very nicely decorated. Clean with a great mattress. And I can park right in front of my room.

I really like the tile in the bathroom. Awesome.

I was happy to find this lovely motel on a road trip. The room was a little small, but it had everything I needed. There was a microwave, refrigerator, Wi-Fi and great quality TV. I really enjoyed the picture and sound quality and there were lots of interesting things to watch! Nice amenities such as Keurig coffee and cocoa, popcorn, and good soap (which is often sub par at motels). I slept well on the bed and liked the sheets and pillows. This place really stands out as an independent motel and was a great value 😃

We stopped here for the night after I84 was closed. The location is extremely convenient. The customer service of the owner was very nice and the room was very clean.

Good room for the price. In room benefits include comfortable beds and pillows, great coffee, tea bags, and popcorn to snack on while watching TV!
Room was very clean, good AC, and no mice or bugs.
Old motel--needs professionally done updates to the outside and inside of the rooms.

This is a great little motel. It's old for sure, but you can tell it's lovingly maintained. Everything was clean and there are thoughtful touches everywhere - popcorn, makeup removers, assortment of coffee, tea, hot cocoa and towels laid out where you need them.

We enjoyed this quaint little motel--felt like we were visiting grandparents. The room was super clean and cozy (my husband was a hotelier), had all the amenities, plus popcorn and a nice variety of K-cup coffee and cocoa. The proprietor was courteous and professional. I couldn't find an ice machine but didn't ask, so maybe I missed it. I recommend this motel for a relaxing stay after a long drive. It's inexpensive and quite adequate.

This is my new job, and the employer is very helpful and friendly. Also the rooms have been upgraded.

First off, this place is La Grande’s best kept secret! Truly a hidden gem and I’m so thankful to have found it. The owners are SO nice and accommodating! My room was very clean, smelled great, the bed is VERY comfortable, huge soft pillows, the shower gets very hot (huge plus for me), the mini fridge is very cold, the decor is adorable, THE softest towels I’ve ever had the pleasure of using at a hotel, LARGE Keurig coffee selection in my room and to top everything off - there was an adorable basket with microwave popcorn inside of it, on top of the microwave. My room was equipped with two queen beds that seemed more like kings, they are huge and I can’t stress enough how comfortable they are!

Do yourself a favor - do NOT stay at one of the high priced chain hotels, drive the 1.4 miles to this adorable motel and enjoy a wonderful, relaxing and comfortable stay for a great price. This place is a fraction of the cost of the chain hotels, friendlier service and better amenities.

I work OTR and I travel thru here about twice per month. This is now one of my routine stops to stay at during my travels.

Thank you so much to the wonderful owners of this adorable establishment for allowing me the pleasure of having a great rest on my way back across the country. I will be back in a couple of weeks and I look forward to my next stay!

For $55/night this place is the bomb. Good service, nice quiet location, clean, comfortable bed, cold AC, quality Keurig options, microwave popcorn, TV works. No blackout curtains in my room, so it was bright, with three lights out front. My non-smoking room did have cigarette burns on the carpet, but there was no smell; it actually smelled nice. Compliments and thanks to the management for providing such a decent affordable option in LaGrande.

Great price. Rooms are clean, quiet and cute area. Walking distance to everything I needed. Very kind service at front desk. Room is well stocked with coffee, popcorn, fridge and microwave.

Needed a place to stay before a backpacking trip and this was perfect! Close proximity to the highway, downtown, and not too far from the trailhead. Very clean room, comfy pillows and bed, nice amenities, and wonderful friendly hosts. We’ll be staying there again next time we pass through!

I got stranded in La Grande due to snow on highways but feel very fortunate to have been able to secure a room here. The staff was extremely friendly, the room was clean and they kept the parking lot plowed nicely. The price was great too! I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back through the area.

Finally good to see that piece places like this still exist. Not only budget friendly but kind enjoyable people. After the $110 night I spent in Denver, I would take this any day! I expect to return here simply for the courtesy and the beauty of this area. If you are headed West on 84,don't even bother with Baker City it's worth the extra half hour.... I Shall Return!

I hate to leave a positive review because well I am afraid they won't have a room available next time I need one. Julie is great, I drink my fair share of Hot Cocoa and eat my popcorn.

I was crunching at staying at a "cheap" hotel but I was pleasantly surprised ! Was very clean, the kurig and popcorn was a nice treat and they had parking for a trailer. They also have deer that come through the parking lot every night.

Clean, quaint little motel. Stayed for 3 nights and not a single negative thing to say.

The place doesn't look like much from the outside but the rooms are very nice. Lots of amenities. Coffee maker with coffee. Microwave. Mini fridge. Popcorn. And other extras. Very nice folks.

This motel is great. I stayed in it for one night. And it was very clean and peaceful. Color tv, cable, coffee maker, roomy. And the people there are very nice. You must try this motel if you are in the area. Thank you Greenwell motel.
