Flying J Travel Center

Updating my review since Jessica and the cook this morning were helpful. Yesterday evening (01/27/24) I grabbed a slice of pizza that was as tough as cardboard and the guy working said it just sucks to suck and happens like that some times. Jessica made it right and restored my faith that not all truck stop employees suck. The cook working today also played a huge part in that and between the two of them other employees should be at least to their standards.

Showers and baked chicken for me and my side kick Milo. The place was clean, the chicken was deliscioys and the customers and employees were friendly. I love the south. This was a good choice to stop and got a good picture of the lineup as the sun cast its colors in the sky.

Very nice staff, clean bathrooms, clean showers, well stocked. Thank you Larry for being so friendly and courteous!

I want to give special recognition to Amberly for being so hospitable and leading from the front, the entire staff at this location is super professional and courteous. I was traveling on a coach bus alongside 2 other busses back to Chicago and we stopped by to get some rest. We bombarded the Flying J but regardless for the few hundred people that came inside the service was efficient and the location itself is very sanitary

Wonderful stop and one night boondock. Staff and management super nice and accommodating. Ate at the denny's there. Jessica our waitresses was very attentive and the food was delicious

UPDATE 9/19/2023:
First time back since this review (company specific fuel stop) and the entire store building has been remodeled INCLUDING the showers. Parking lot still a mess of potholes, but that’s next the manager said. Seemed like all different staff, or at least new attitudes - so friendly and helpful. Except Methany at the register, this stop has done a complete 180! Keep it up ❤

A month later, and shower 10 drain is still slow - almost ended up with a bath! Black mold on walls, general disorganization in shower area, outside garbages overflowing. Would have been 1*, but Joshua at the register was a star all by himself. Oh, and picked up a bolt in my tire for my trouble 🙄 and had to get roadside out to replace my tire less than 20 miles up the road... Cluster of trucks, wouldn't stop unless necessary.

Cons limited parking , if u don't get here by 4 pm , just keep rolling and driving to next truck stop cuz u won't find any Parking 🙃 on weekdays

The employees and management here is the nicest and most helpful I have ever interacted with in my 75 years of life and travel! Kudos, you are definitely a five star staff!

Just stopped to fule up but place has Diesel and DEF lots of fule pumps and parking and theres a Denny's inside come on Driver 😜🤘keep on Trucking Flying J 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Love those RV gasoline pumps. When you haul 40 feet and a Jeep, fueling becomes just a bit easier knowing we can count on the RV gas pumps at Flying J. Whoever designed these gas stations big and wide and long enough is a genius...THANK YOU!

My favourite place when I’m driving from TX. Plenty of parking for HotShot tribe. Nice and friendly ppl working here and that really matters to me. 15 showers, where you can warm your bones and clean your attitude. Nothing beats Flying J for sure.

149 truck parking space. 50 paid 2 disable parking. Very conjusted parking spot.. (Mechanic is available here)
They have a barber too.

Went in for a shower, shower was clean and renovated. Grabbed a bite and Jaycee the attendant up at the desk was very nice and personable, attentive

Had breakfast at Denny’s and it was so great! My server, Linda was simply amazing! So professional and sweet! They need more people like her!! The manager, Brenda came by my table to make sure that I was satisfied and if I needed anything. That has never happened before. So genuine! A new Flying J staff member named Victor was very hard working and helpful!! The Denny’s as well as Flying J staff members here are so helpful! Made my visit enjoyable!!! I’ll be sure to return!!!

This review is not about the truck stop in general but about one of the employees. We only stopped here for a quick shower and were treated very special by Will who got us a shower very quickly and some extra towels and generally was very nice and friendly. We really appreciated such care and attention!

We stopped here to get gas and I was going to use the restroom. When I opened the door it was complete darkness. The lights were off no power. I believe that management should have emergency lights if they are going to keep the door open because for a lady this is kinda scary!!! However, It was my decision to enter or leave. So, I did get my flashlight and go in. The customer service was great and they did have paper in the gas pump for receipt.

We ate at Denny's located inside FlyingJ. It was very nice. Travel Center was nice & clean when we stopped for cold drinks for the road. Would definitely stop here again
