Haven of Rest Cemetery

Haven of Rest is a Rich property of the city, the cemetery has serviced thousands of families with grave plots over 100 years old. It is the final resting place for many African Americans during the turn of the 20th century, with it being one of few perpetual care cemetery in the city for colored. I take pride in ensuring the care and beauty of the gardens that it may satisfy families all around from different races, cultures, and backgrounds.

So glad to see that someone has taken the initiative to keep the cemetary looking beautiful as it did in the early 90''s my great grandfather, great grandmother, uncle and aunt are at this cemetery and I was blown away by how beautiful it looks now. Keep up the awesome work

Landmark

Do not bury your family here. I attended a burial and they had us waiting over two hours to go get essential equipment and once we all got back they couldn’t lock the casket. Then they lowered the casket with a crane. A CRANE. Dang near tipped it over while lowering it. Also one of the guys fell in the hole. Horrible experience.

This cemetery needs to do better! It is Disgusting and unrespectful ! Fallen over headstones (I counted over 40) trash all over the place...weeds and ant hills taken over headstones
