They did a wonderful job of guiding us through this difficult time. Harvey Hairston was with us every step of the way supporting our family and took such care when he drove Papaw to his final resting place. We will always appreciate Harvey for his care and support. We also received excellent support and service from Hannah Ashley, Mallory Davis, Brent Hill, Jodie McGinley and Holly with Aftercare.

She guided me and my family through everything with a kind, loving, no rush attitude. She made a difficult time far more bearable and took on the many matters that need attention at the death of a loved one.

Smith Family Funeral home was hands down amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was right. The manager Hannah deserves 5 stars, she's amazing. She went the extra mile for us on everything. She was available at anytime to talk with. My husband's service was absolutely beautiful with the best service. They treated us like family and made us feel comfortable in such a terrible time.

Smith Family Funeral Home was absolutely amazing. I recently lost my newborn and from the very beginning, Jodie and Hannah did everything they could to make this process easier for my husband and I. They were both super sweet and assured me I could message them anytime I needed anything or had questions. Hannah kept me updated on everything. I know they took great care of my sweet baby and I could not be more pleased with them.

Our family has been dealing with the Smith family since I was a young man, we did arraignments for our mothers service In January, our funeral director was Hannah Chambers, she was totally awesome, professional, courteous and very knowledgeable, explained everything very well and made us feel totally at ease about the care our mom was getting and all the details. Having someone empathetic at a time like that is so important and she went above and beyond. We truly appreciate it

I am pleased to have this opportunity to describe my family’s experience in working with Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (and more specifically, Hannah Chambers (Funeral Director)) on funeral services for my Dad, who passed away on 4/6/22. My Dad had pre-arranged/prepaid some plans for his funeral service years before, but we were not able to find that paperwork at his home while he was hospitalized in the days leading up to his passing. When I called Hannah, she was quickly able to pull up my Dad’s information and reassure me that his funeral wishes were documented in their files. She also clearly described how I should make the hospital aware that Smith Sherwood was the funeral home for my Dad and gave me specific instructions on how to notify them at the time of his passing. This was very helpful and comforting as this was an incredibly stressful and hectic time, and I had never been through this process previously.

When I and other family members met with Hannah after my Dad’s passing, she again described for us the plans he had pre-arranged. During this meeting, Hannah was also helpful in identifying some details for his funeral that hadn’t been addressed in Dad’s earlier funeral planning, which gave our family the opportunity to consider options Hannah presented to us and address those additional details. She also took care of important details like requesting death certificates and notifying Social Security of my Dad’s passing so we did not have to handle those tasks. Also, I want to point out that much of my communication with Hannah before and after the funeral was by email, which was incredibly convenient for me and also allowed me to receive timely responses from Hannah even while she was of course working with other families.

On the day of my Dad’s funeral, the staff continued to communicate clearly with me on important logistical details, which helped the service proceed smoothly and as planned. More importantly, to a person the funeral home staff demonstrated the kind of caring, support, and compassion that we so desperately needed on that day, and we are all grateful for that. To sum up, we are GREATLY appreciative for all the help and support from Hannah and others at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home during a time our family needed that help and support the most!

My brother tragically passed away in January and I called Smith Sherwood funeral home. Hannah answered the call and was a God send. She was so sweet, understanding and knowledgeable. She helped my family get through a very hard time. Mr. Harvey was also amazing and helped with the service. I really can’t express how much Smith funeral home means to me. I will choose them every time and highly recommend them!

Smith Sherwood went above and beyond in the planning and care for my mother and grandmother. We lost them with a week of each other so having Hannah help coordinate was so helpful. She was very caring and thoughtful in every step of the process. The Smith team including Hannah, Mr. Bill and Mr. Brent accommodated our requests and led us every step of the way. During our darkest hours, we felt so supported and helped us to celebrate the beautiful lives of our two matriarchs.

Upon my loved ones passing, my family and I met with 2 different funeral homes. Smith Sherwood Funeral Home was the one we chose. They found no hidden cost after our first meeting, unlike the other funeral home and it was even cheaper once all things were said and done, they gave us worst case scenario up front. Cost is important but the reason I write this review is because we were treated like family the moment we walked through the door. Hannah and staff paid attention to every detail. I cannot express how well we were taken care of during one of the most difficult times in our lives. Hannah and staff went above and beyond.

My family is so thankful for Smith Family Funeral Home. Especially for Hannah Chambers, our Funeral Director when my father in law passed away. Hannah is very caring, compassionate and professional. Thank you for making this time of loss and grieving go so smoothly for our family.

Smith Sherwood Funeral Home provided services for my father in law in September. Hannah Chambers was our funeral director.
