Small Burger Shop but wonderful place in town. I don't many people remember that restaurant having newspaper in the windows and how hard the new owners have work to revive this classic spot. The food takes time but totally worth the wait for me personally. A little over 7 dollars for a healthier burger than McDonald's is a great deal. I'm appreciative I get to experience this place after it being closed most my childhood. As for those who think the owner is rude. She is busy and running a business on her own. I don't find her being rude at all. She is juggling a lot more than you as the customer. Be patient and Be kind to her she is doing the best she can.

Friendly service! Best tasting ice cream flavor coming from an ice cream snob- the secret is keeping the ice cream covered so it doesn’t lose flavor!

Why visit fast food spots when your meal can make memories! A charming traditional 50s style diner with great hospitality to match. We stopped in for dinner on a road trip and it was brilliant, far out shining any mainstream fast food alternatives.

What a great experience! Fantastic food! Amazing options. Great service. And oh my the ice cream was heavenly!

First time here. A truly unique local restaurant. While the food service is not fast, I think that's what makes it taste so great. Will return when passing by this town again!!

Exceptionally good hamburgers, milkshakes, and ice cream. Houghts is a long time La Grande summer tradition. You know summer has arrived when Houghts opens! The setting is simple, and it’s family style is a reminder of the traditional values that are lasting and endearing, and enduring.

Great burgers, fries & ice cream. We had the huckleberry. Nice tables and scenery outside.

What a cool place to get really good ice cream!!! I brought my 3 nieces here and it was my first time. I absolutely love the decorations. The service was fantastic. The young lady who helped us was the absolute sweetest!!! My nieces were able to try flavors to decide what they want and she was so patient with them. We all loved the ice cream and want to come more often! We will definitely be back soon

Happened upon Houghts on our way through town looking for a treat on our drive back to Utah. We loved it. So much of the original stuff, and the super fun old diner feel. The ice cream was delicious and the fries were super yum. The owner was so friendly and told us so many fun facts about the place. Will definitely be stopping by again the next time through

Great fries and ice cream !! Love the outdoor seating and they have a water bowl for the dogs and sell pup cones for a quarter. We love this place, one of the best parts of every summer - especially ice cre after a hike !

In this fast paced world we live in, Houghts is like a breath of fresh air. The mood is thick with nostalgia in this 50's style diner. Pull up to the counter and sit on a classic round stool. Order classic diner items from the menu and while you wait for your food, soak in your surroundings. There are pictures of the original owners, memorabilia and decor from days gone by, and era appropriate music to make you feel like you've stepped back in time.
Burgers and fries, ice cream, root beer floats, and banana splits are a few of the things you would expect, and will find, on their menu.
We're glad we took the time to stop here and we'll be back next time we pass through.

I searched a while trying to decide where to eat and I’m glad I found this spot. It’s kind of on the edge of the main street. It’s a cute little old fashioned burger spot. The ladies were soooo nice and friendly. That burger tho!!! I got the seasoned burger with the works. It was delicious! The onion rings!!! Super fresh and everything was made to order. I’d never had fry sauce before, but I am happy to report I am a fan! The sundae was overdoing it for me, but the small was just the right size. I honestly regretted not getting a bigger size of everything (I’m trying to do better with my life starting yesterday. Kind of hard to do that traveling), but the portions were perfect and it hit the spot! I was going to see them on my way out, but they’re closed on Tuesdays 😩 just my luck. It’s very reasonably priced, too!
If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by!!!

We came in late...Well because we were traveling and that's when we got there😊 Wasn't a problem at all. We were able to sample many flavors!!😋😋I think by the time we had our ice cream, it was 5 after closing, and there was no rush to sweep us out the door!! The world needs more business like this around!

We shared a chocolate ice cream soda Saturday night. Yum!

Delicious. The bugers & malts were amazing!! We stopped in by random chance, glad we did. Definitely making a stop here anytime we are near La Grande.
The history shown throughout the place & welcoming atmosphere shows how much love they've put into this place throughout the years. Worth the stop!!

Absolutely love houghts 24 flavors. Only place that carries my favorite ice cream and the food is really yummy too. Great people own this small dinner and they are amazing people.

Great ice cream. Used to go there when I was a kid. Place hasn't changed a bit, which is a good thing.
