Chen Family Dish

I had the #6: Szechuan Chicken with Mar Far Chicken and I substituted the Pork Fried Rice with steamed Veggetables for an extra $2 (because I'm diabetic). For soup, I had the Hot and Sour soup. The food arrived quickly and was delicious.

The lobby was clean and the staff was friendly. They checked on my brother and I often and kept our glasses full. I would absolutely recommend Chen's to anyone and I will be back.

The waiter came immediately and offered water and tea. Asked if we wanted anything else to drink. When we were ready to order, he came right over and took our orders. Our meals all arrived hot and fresh. Nobody had to wait for their order.

We discovered this place while my mom was recovering from surgery at DRV. People visiting my mom brought her food from this restaurant. My mom insisted that when we were out in this area again that we needed to stop here for lunch.
This was my first time eating her and in the restaurant. This place reminds me of the Chinese food of my childhood Growing up in Salem. The atmosphere is peaceful and tastefully decorated. The bathrooms are clean and the servers are really nice. They have great lunch specials and they give good portions! We will definitely be back!

The food was great, and the server was very fast with our food and drinks. Everyone in the restaurant was having a great time, and the menu showed all the items in a clear fashion.

Chen's Family dish is the best in Oregon. In my opinion, their General Tsao's is unbeatable. It is the perfect combo of delicate crisp of the chicken with a sauce that isn't so hot I can't enjoy it. This is a dish that satisfies both my husband as well as myself. If you're looking for a noodle dish, the chicken Lo-Mein has incredible flavor w/ fresh vegetables & are cooked perfectly every time. The rice? Where do I start? We always have a large order and replace the steamed rice from the General Taso's with the fried for even more leftovers! The staff are always busy busy busy but they are usually pretty friendly. We have been going to Chen's for >17 years & its reliably hot & tasty. Paying is usually chaotic. You have to wait a bit as you wait your turn to be helped, but what can you do? Its amazing food!Smile, patiently wait and walk away full and happy with a wallet that isn't completely drained. Did I mention VERY affordable for a family of 5 and that's hard to find anymore.

Great food, good portions, good variety on menu, great combos. Price is midrange, worth it for the amount of food you get. My meal was $11.75 a fair price in deed. Highly recommended you try this little spot, you won't be disappointed.
