St. Joseph's Westgate Medical Center

Good visit this time. In the past it was not a good experience. Thankfully this time it was good. Nurses and doctors were very nice and helpful. The room was beautiful. Huge and completely handicap accessible. The meals were different than most hospitals. They make a certain meal for breakfast. Lunch and dinner. Everyone gets that meal. Eventually someone may bring you a menu to call and request different items but you are required to call to request this food prior to the cafeteria staff being open. So basically you cannot change it and have to accept what’s given. Other than the food issue I was very impressed with my care and concern showed by staff and doctors.

Very friendly staff. Nurses are AMAZING!!! I had pretty bad abdominal pain. The wait was about 2 hours to get a room, which is not bad, it's a small hospital and I'm sure others were in worse situations than me. But once I got a room, diagnostics were done right away, and unfortunately, I had gallstones, and my Gall Bladder needed to be removed. Surgery was the next day. It was quick and went home the same day. Anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nurses were all great and made me feel very comfortable. The food was pretty good, too. I really do wish that nobody suffered from any illness or injury, but if you do need help, I highly recommend this hospital. And again, I can't thank the nurses enough.

My husband had surgery at St. Joseph's Westgate and the entire staff we encountered was amazing! I can't say enough about the recovery room nurses, Diana, Laura & Joy, they went over and above to make sure my husband was comfortable. He is a paraplegic and they were so attentive and helpful anticipating his needs before he even knew. Thank you so much for all your help, we are so impressed!

Last May 2023, my husband needed emergency hernia surgery, and he received wonderful care at St. Joe's Westgate. We arrived at 5 am on a Sunday morning and the staff was friendly, efficient, kind, and caring. From the front desk, to the ER, to the rooms, fantastic nurses, amazing surgeon (Dr. Rachel Alt), and good food, we had the best experience. Thank you so very much, St. Joe's Westgate staff!!

Had to visit the emergency room a few weeks ago and could not have been more grateful for the kindness of everyone there. They were incredibly busy so the wait was a bit long, but once I was able to get in the doctor and nurses were so kind and explained everything they were doing very thoroughly

The entire ER staff was amazing when my husband had the symptoms of an anyeresm. They all worked together so efficiently and were kind and very caring. Darcie, our RN kept us informed and was so caring. Dr Canales has an exceptionally gentle and kind manner and communicated in a manner we could understand. We felt a sense of confidence in his diagnosis.
I've heard so many negative experiences from ER visits these days. This was a "restore your faith" experience.

Everyone at this location was once again absolutely wonderful i just want to say thank you to all of them for the help with my kidney stone issues. This is the only hospital that I have ever been to that actually cared about their patients and went above and beyond to make sure i was comfortable

This is my third visit to this ER & the quality care received from every single staff member when visiting has never been anything less than stellar, & 5 star worthy! While I understand everyone’s experiences vary, I am actually shocked at some of the poor reviews left for this facility, as I have felt heard & been treated with the utmost respect & care from start to finish every single time. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Westgate St. Joe’s Medical Center to anyone based on all 3 three of my personal experiences here! What you do isn’t easy so big thanks to all for your kindness & service to others!

Very clean hospital room, everyone was very nice and helpful. The beds are comfortable and not worn out. Food is freshly made. THANK YOU I would definitely recommend

My wife recently had surgery here. The entire experience was amazing. The staff there made us feel at home for the entire process from the moment we checked in until we left. The different nurses who worked with my wife through the process were outstanding. They were able to take the stress out of the entire process. The facility is also top level from the moment you drive onto the property. Definitely would recommmend this place.

The best experience I have ever had going to any hospital!. The rooms are nice new and big. Tons of privacy. They treated me and my husband whom we struggle with addiction as if we weren't different from any other patient they work with and respect. Extremely pleasant experience. Would refer this hospital to anyone who may have been judged in the past by medical professionals and made out to be pain pill manipulating pheans:junkie trying to get high. ... I was treated like a patient who needed help. My husband received pain management to help with his wounds on his feet due to a car accident that hasn't healed 2 years later. Wonderful place to be to get treatment for life and fairness.

It’s too bad the reviews that concern only pricing bring down the rating. Healthcare and its fees suck everywhere. What’s exceptional here is the care and efficiency of the entire ER staff. Even the doctor - we all know exhausted ER doctors don’t always have the best bedside manner - was patient and not talking to me with one foot out of the room. The nurses and techs were kind, nonjudgmental, and quick without being abrupt or sloppy. I had a chest X-ray, 3 EKGs, blood draw, ct scan, repeat blood work, all within 4 hours. Released within another hour. I’ve been in similar situations in other ERs, and all that would have taken 8-12+ hours. This was more thorough. Also they have an excellent real-time patient app. Great job.

I didn’t have any problem with this facility. I came here because it was close to home and I didn’t want to go to a large Banner hospital ER. I came in at 6pm and was out by 10pm for my issue. The place is clean. The triage nurse was calm and nice. The nurse that handled my care when I got into a bed was the reason I gave this place 5 stars. Her name was Jen and she was on duty the night of 12/30/22. She was wonderful. Excellent bedside manner and very relatable. The doctor I saw was busy like any other ER doc but he was still thorough enough which made me feel comfortable. I can’t remember his name. The nurse that did my EKG was great as well. I will come back here again for any emergency needs.

At. Joseph west gate is the first place I go to when I need to be seen at the ER. Nursing staff is always so kind. I never wait a long time to be seen and this is why I rate it a 5 star hospital . If I can rate it by person I would give the lady who worked the emergency room checking in people on 8/24 between 6-7 pm a 1 star. Walked in and she just stared at me, no smile or anything was rude the whole time, she sounded like she hates her job, she has no human kindness and should not be up at the front.

I had never been to this hospital before last night. I have complex health problems so if I need admitted I go to Banner University. (Banner ER I do not like) Last night I needed stitches and confirmation that I didn't harm anything that couldn't be fixed with stitches. I was greeted kindly at the reception desk. I was triage by the charge nurse because she had spoken to my doctor before I got there. Every staff member I encountered was wonderful. Dr Saunders was so sweet and kind. He listened when I told him my connective tissue disorder means I need extra lidocaine. He got me stitched up and sent home quickly. If I needed emergency care and didn't need my specialists I absolutely would go there again.

Hi I am giving this review for my husband. We have been here now two times already each time we have been there great service. He was there yesterday for a Procedure the nurses and doctors were great and supper nice and very good bedside mater. We will use this place as much as possible. He was there for the night picking him up soon.

We came in around 4am Friday the 21st and were greeted with respect and brought in the room within seconds. Dr, and the stuffs were amazing and very professional. You guys made us feel like home. so for that reason alone, thank you.

My mom was having extreme abdominal pain and my sister took her to the nearest place St.Joe's Westgate ER and as my sister's were the one's there with her waiting for her to get seen, she got back fairly quick. Which I was relieved for . My mom ended up having surgery and staying over night.
My moms Dr's, nurses and techs were professional and interactive with my mom, which made me feel better. The surgeon Dr. Prebil came in talked to my mom, explained what was wrong and the procedure that she needed. Thank you. I can honestly say I didn't have interaction with any rude or un-empathetic employees. As my sister and I work at separate hospitals different from Dignity Health, we were both pleased with how our mom was treated from the time she walked in.
So , thank you to all the staff, from the beginning as she walked in the door to discharge.

Unfortunately this is the second time I have had to go to the ER in the last six months. Both times my experience was excellent. Both times I was taken back quickly and taken care of by very calm, understanding and efficient doctors and nurses. From start to finish best ER experience that I have ever had.

This is one of the Best hospitals I have been to. My son was admitted for about a week and they were so nice and informative. I have been to the emergency room for non-emergency issues and they have never made me feel bad about going. The staff is always respectful and caring. Way better than Del Web and Abbrazo.
