Very authentic Italian restaurant! Great location if you are coming back from a long day of wine tasting. My top choices were margarita pizza, bianca pizza, and lasagna. We enjoyed the outdoor side walk seating since the side walk wasn’t too crowded. Our server was really nice and attentive during our dining experience.

My good friend and I enjoyed a delicious and refreshing drink at Nick's bar before having dinner in the main dining room. It was my first dining experience at Nick's Italian Cafe and it was a very pleasurable one at that. I ordered one of the evening's specials, Butternut Squash Ravioli, and was delighted with my choice. It was delicious! Accompanied by restaurant-made bread and a meatball on the side, I couldn't have been more pleased. Needless to say I also enjoyed a 2nd drink since the 1st was so good. It was called Winter Coat. The service along with each staff member that interacted with us was top notch. I can now see why Nick's is a popular choice when it comes to selecting a special night of dining with family or friends.

Lovely restaurant. I think the appropriate rating would be 4.5. The mushroom toetelli was awesome, but the polenta wasn't properly salted, though the beef short ribs made up for it. Great Italian wine. Oysters were ok, not memorable. I'd definitely come back.

Carmen the owner makes the pasta everyday and it is some of the best I have ever had. The Tagliatelle is luxurious. The meatball appetizer the best. The bread comes out of a wood fired oven, amazing!

What a wonderful meal we had at Nick's Italian Cafe! Outdoor seating and social spacing made the evening a great and safe dinner destination. We each had the beet and arugula salad with goat cheese and vinaigrette. We shared a pizza and had dessert with coffee. Really great atmosphere and terrific service!

Wow what an awesome dinner. Everything we ate was just delicious and the proper portion size. Jennifer was our waitress and she took seriously my food allergy. 100% will eat great again next visit.

Amazing food. The pizza was delicious. Crust was perfect. Tortelli and ravioli to die for. Amazing wine selection. Friendly wait staff. Prompt, courteous service. Reservations are recommended, but not required if you show up early.

I planned a weekend away for my wife's birthday. We were staying at the Vintages RV resort. After checking we we drove into town and found Nick's. They were not yet open for dinner, so we just walked around checking out the nice downtown area. We returned just as they were opening. We were seated right away. The atmosphere was really nice and the staff was incredibly friendly. We started out with an adult beverage (the bartender needs to teach classes on how to make a proper drink, one of the best White Russians I have had). Appetizers were next. My wife got the muscles and I got the meatballs. For some reason I asked if they had mushrooms and the server replied "yes they do". She said the shrooms are ground up and the meatballs are very popular. Normally this would be an absolute 1000% deal breaker because I absolutely despise the texture, smell and taste of them. After a lot of back and forth with myself I decided to give them a try with an open mind. WOW, these were some of the best meatballs I have ever had, the flavor was fantastic. Now this was not a life changing event for me, I still do not like mushrooms but try these appetizers. For entrees my wife went with the crab lasagna and I went with a special they were having, it was almost like a carbonara. Once again we were absolutely blown away with how good everything tasted. The pastas are made in house, the sauces are perfect. We can't wait to go back and try this place again, and yes, I will get the meatballs!

Dinner time is not really kid friendly, but I appreciate the staff bringing out my toddler's dinner out first!

Honestly this was our only option on a Tuesday night and we were not really wanting Italian food ... but, WOW. It's one of the best meals we have ever had! I have northern Italian roots and LOVED their sauce on the meatballs. The beet salad was to die for. And the cod - scrumptious! Contrary to other reviews (we read them beforehand), we thought the price point was in line and the service was just fine for an upscale restaurant. Highly recommend!

Excellent restaurant for authentic, fresh, italian food. We are from out of town and chose this restaurant on a whim as we were walking down the street. Very nice, romantic dinner for two. Service was excellent, from a waitress that really knew the restaurant and the food they serve, spent extra time making sure we knew the food they were serving and the options we had that weren't on the menu. Special salad of the night included fresh local peaches, it was amazing!! I'm fact all of the food was amazing! They said they like to focus on local, farm to table, fresh food and it really shows... we can hardly wait to eat here again.
Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Sooo good! I read reviews about the lasagna, so we of course tried that and it was my favorite. We also had the mushroom ravioli? Which was good, but in a sort of broth and not as hearty/filling as the lasagna. They provide a nice amount of bread and oil.

After living in Mac for 3 years we finally tried Nick's. Silly us for waiting so long! It was a late, 7:30 pm dinner on a Thursday, so I suggest making a reservation if you're planning a more typical dinner time/Weekend. The menu is designed to be artisan style- they make great use of the wood burning oven, and be prepared for higher prices, but cocktail drinks aren't watery, food pallet and service are on point and you will not be disappointed. Hubby had crab lasagna and dry martini, I had the blue cheese / pear pizza with Pomegranate Sling for drink. Fabu!

After enjoying my recent experience here, just read through some of the reviews - sounds (reads) like it is a love it or hate it place/experience. Called around 5, on a Friday eve to see if we could get in before the more popular, dinner hour, but couldn't get in the dining room until abt 7:30, which would be a more popular time, especially on a Friday. However, I was told, by the VERY nice, pleasant person that there is a "back room" which was not full @ the time. Had heard good things about Nicks from good friends who have been here often. Got a table in the back, our server, Melissa, could NOT have been any nicer, helpful, attentive, personable or kind. Walking through the "dining" room area, we weren't dressed, as I would have been comfortable with, had we have been seated in there. However, the back room was very comfortable, casual, and even "homey", in my opinion. Water and bread arrived almost immediately, and we had taken the last available table (this area does not take reservations). Melissa handed us menus, offered to take drink orders, but since this was the 1st visit, I needed to peruse the wine options 1st. Very shortly after my companion had finished looking at the food menu, and I was trying to decide between a couple of different wine choices, she returned to tell us about the dinner special, asked about drink choices and after asking about the 2 wines I was considering, shared with me her favorite, then promptly offered a taste of each, which were presented w/i minutes. Before I finished either taste, she returned to ask my preference, upon my answer, which just so happened to be the same as her favorite, the glass arrived in the same, short, time frame. I hadn't yet made my entree choice, so she offered me more time as though there was no rush at all to get us out of there in order to "fill" the table. As soon as I had made my choice, she returned to take our order. The special had a cream sauce which I'm not fond of so asked if I could get it with a red sauce and there was no problem with my request. Salad arrived shortly thereafter, then dinner. I agree, w/some other reviews, that the entree portion was not large, however, for me, it was perfect. Melissa suggested the chocolate mousse, if we wanted desert, included the fact that, in her opinion, it is the best choice. We shared the mousse, which was a good size for 2, and it was fabulous. I didn't see the check total, however seeing the menu prices, it's not a place I could go to every week. My experience with some other restaurants, especially on a Friday or Saturday evening, is hurried as they want to turn over tables as quickly as possible. This was, most definitely, not my experience that evening. We were there, occupying a table for 4 (there were 2 of us), easily 3 hours. NEVER felt or sensed any type of rush. Enjoyed great, very friendly conversations with Melissa and she treated us as though we were long time friends. When, not if, we return, we will ask for her, and if necessary, w/wait for her. IF I leave ratings for any business or service, they are not this lengthy, however, after reading some others, I felt compelled to share my experience. I'm sorry that others experienced poor service, but that couldn't be more different than my experience here. Thank you Melissa, you w/not soon be forgotten.

Don't let the name, or the non-descript storefront fool you - this is no ordinary Italian restaurant!! The food was amazing - delicious, unique ingredients with a beautiful presentation. Everyone at our table was comparing dishes and talking about flavors. The service was stellar. The decor is simple with a nod to the local wine industry as one wall was constructed of wine barrel staves. The only down side is the small size on a busy night (make a reservation) - and it got noisy. But I would definitely recommend with two thumbs-up!!

One of the best restaurants we went to during a week in Oregon. The crab lasagna was absolutely unreal, one of the best things I have eaten all year. The pizza was also outstanding, among the best I have had. Make sure you go to the backroom for a cosier vibe.

Haven't been here.....yet. Like to read reviews to see what people think. But I had to comment after reading, mainly to those who express their disappointment over the portions.
Those of you CLAIMING to know anything about authentic Italian dining crack me up.
If you have TRULY been to Italy, you would know that a meal consists of 4-6 courses, with the entree itself being a SMALLER size so you don't get full before the remaining courses. And when you visit a place like Nick's you are paying for the atmosphere, well selected wines that are chosen to compliment the menu, and the obvious training whoever created the Menu received to pull it all together. For those of you who can't understand that, please go eat at Olive Garden where you might get a big portion, but none of the truly authentic items I just mentioned.
To the owner of Nicks--- keep it up....sounds like you have plenty of REAL patrons who understand why they should choose your establishment. Hope to meet you when I have time to enjoy myself!!!!
