Great museum to stop by on your way to/from Vegas to Grand canyon national Park. Very quiet and for $10 per head you can cover three attractions. Children's 12 and below are free. Plenty of historic artifacts collectibles to view. Friendly staff and peaceful setting.

Came across this venue while on a self drive tour of the iconic Route 66.
The Mohave Museum is run by a crew of very knowledgeable volunteers and contains a large number of indoor and outdoor exhibits that have been restored artifacts or manufactured displays detailing the history of the area over the centuries.

Well maintained public restrooms designed to accommodate wheelchairs and disabled patrons.

We visited the Mohave Museum of History and Arts during an over night while passing through, May, 2023. We didn't expect the museum to be a nice as it turned out to be. We liked the Arizona Route 66 Museum across the street at the power house. We expected that to be the best one of the three connected museums. As it turned out, we liked the Mohave better.
This museum had a really nice collection. Starting with the Presidents and First Ladies of the United States Of America. Then it just went in different directions as the museum went on. I really liked it. It even had a small movie theater. There is also a library on site. As well as the expected, gift shop you will exit through. All in all a really nice museum.
This museum is also very close to the other museums and parks. There is a deal where if you pay admission for one museum, you get admission to all three museums at no extra cost. We went to one museum the afternoon before when arriving in town. Then went to the Mohave the next morning with no extra charge. We didn't go to the third museum as we wanted to get back on the road.
The ticket prices as of May, 2023 were $10 for adults. But $6 for adults over 60 years old. As I said, if you pay admission to one Museum. You get admission to two additional museums for no additional coast. Just do not lose the ticket they give you. It also works good as a book mark.
So if you're in the Kingman area. Here's a fairly inexpensive way to spend some time with up to three museums. As such, it should be obvious that I recommend them.

There is a lot of reading on the displays explaining the significance of the objects presented. Children may become antsy, so I recommend you plan a long visit and reading out loud to the kids. There is a lot of history here.

Small but growing museum with some wonderfully on-point displays that cover the areas unique civil and military history, particularly the railroad, mining and Army Air Force chapters as well as the early western days and Native American history. Great for all ages and a really helpful staff. Nice gift shop too.

This is one of three museums you purchase a single $10 ticket and you get all three museums. The President and First Lady portraits were worth the visit alone. It was also neat learning about the local mining towns.

I've walked through a dozen small town history museums since I started Route 66. This museum had similar themes but was probably one of the best designed museums I've seen. They also have more space than most of them, which gives them an advantage. It covers Native American history, the mining history, trains, local boys that made it big (Andy Devide specifically) a little Route 66 history and a few other topics specific to this area. It was well done.

Good museum to visit. Met wonderful people that work there. 4$ for an adult ticket gets you into 3 museum's near by. We'll worth it.

This museum is dedicated to the ancient people that lived in the area to the settlers that traveled across country in search of a dream and a better life. Route 66 brought Native Americans, ranchers, miners, soldiers and everyday people to an area to find a new life. This museum is filled with artifacts and stories of the hardships they endured and the determination of those people. Fascinating real life accounts, photographs and maps to bring us closer to the past. They also have an hour long film which you should take time to watch and a room filled with the first electric cars. A must see!

OK! The history of Kingman section has some quirky explanations, but the artifacts and antiques are excellent. Then the geology section is exceptional. There is an interesting section on actor Andy Devine. ... and a section on old musical organs and player pianos. Overall a nice stop on Route 66.

Very nice museums with plenty of interesting displays and artifacts. You could easily spend 2 hours here. Don't forget if you pay for entrance here, Route 66 Museum, or Bonelli House, the other two museums are free! Such a great deal.

A large collection of many types of displays indoors. The largest part of the "museum" is of course the desert outdoors!
Unfortunately we arrived 3 hours before closing time and took in very little of the outdoor expanse.
Be Sure to allow most of a day so that you may experience all that you might like of this huge wonder!
