Swan Point Cemetery

This seemingly endless cemetery on the East Side is a great place to come for some peace and quiet. The many winding and intersecting roads make it easy to get lost in here, especially since there are so many beautiful gravestones and obelisks throughout. There are a couple of paths that go down to the banks of the Seekonk River. It’s nice that they allow cycling here (only at “slow” speeds), as exploring the entire cemetery on foot would take hours.

If you spending a day in Providence, you should spend an hour or so driving through here. They encourage visitors. The grounds are beautiful, and the older statuary adds a lot of interest.

Walk through everyday during the warmer months. Beautiful, pieceful an relaxing. Recently having a repore with the wild turkeys that roam the cematary an they seem to recognize me, so awsome 😀

Beautiful 300 acre cemetery. Walking around you can tell that a lot of care goes into this place daily. The trees are beautiful and there is an area along the water that is peaceful.

This is an incredibly beautiful cemetery. It just so happens to be where HP Lovecraft is buried.

Absolutely beautiful and pristine! Excellent for walking whether It's along the Seekonk River or the paved cemetery roads in which some are hilly and most are flat, taking in the fresh air, observing all the different species of trees. Definitely the history, architecture and beauty of the headstones and mausoleums. Just a really peaceful and tranquil atmosphere anytime of the year.

This has to be one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the entire USA. I don't live here, and only visited the cemetery to admire its trees and gardens, and thought about changing my plans for my final resting place!

Beautiful cemetery we found driving around after breakfast while visiting from Florida on 07.10.22. We love going into old cemeteries and this one is the most beautiful one. The 200 acres are impeccably kept. The trees are beautiful and having the river there adds to the peacefulness.

Swan Point is one of the most beautiful places in Rhode Island. The efforts that the administration (multiple family generations) and grounds workers put into the operation of Swan Point is nothing short of perfection. I visit here on a daily basis and can't express my thanks to Swan Point for giving me such a beautiful place to be with my loved ones.

Such a peaceful place! I enjoyed walking there, if you want to run don't put your earbuds on, because cars are passing by regularly. Swan point which is near the river is such a quiet place and has a nice view.

From the wonderful experience with Linda Xavier in learning the history of the cemetery to the final day of the funeral, my experience with Swan Point was wonderful. Linda was patient and met with the family time and time again to ensure we were happy with our choice in a plot. She also gave us a lot of information which made it easier to decide on what to do for a service and funeral. The cemetery itself is beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend meeting with her if interested in Swan Point. The entire staff there is professional, kind and compassionate.

I have many family members buried here. It is beautiful! They take care of the grounds beautifully. It is a peaceful place!

The most beautiful cemetery I've ever been in. I enjoy reading the gravestones from the 18th century where they list how the people of that time passed on. Such a beautiful and tranquil cemetery.

One of the most incredible Cemeteries in the world can be found just over the Pawtucket city limits in Providence Rhode Island off of the very Elegant and stately Blackstone Boulevard where amazing monuments can be seen with some of the most naturally opulent surroundings in every season You will find every kind of time enduring sculpture from every era. Something from the Victorian, throughout the Progressive into the Art Deco and beyond.. Extremely wealthy families have a lot of prime real estate set aside even in the After life as a testament to the fortunes their loved ones amassed in life.

Howard Phillips Lovecraft's final resting place. said to be 'haunted.' i lived a few blocks from there for about 20 years. yeah, i got my goth cred. looking forward to spending eternity there.

Great place to go for beautiful walk. A lot of trees have their names on them.
