We brought our cat Vinnie in after we saw that he was not well. We called en route to let them know we were coming. The staff took immediate care of him. The vet tech who took him in kept us updated on his status and the Vet explained to us in detail what had happened. We have been to the other ER hospital and I would most certainly come back to Bay State if needing emergency services in the future. Thank you to the staff here for taking excellent care of Vinnie. We appreciate you so much. He is doing much better and back to himself. :)

I work in animal rescue so I have been in multiple animal emergency situations. Bay state is always my first choice for emergency care. The staff is kind, compassionate, caring, and they always put the animals well being before all else. My last visit was with 7 kittens needing emergent care and the staff worked around the clock to do everything they could for these struggling babies. They also did everything possible to keep the costs down and they GAVE ME HONEST, straightforward information to help me make informed decisions for my kittens care. Next time you go here remember how hard this staff works and the heartbreak they experience on a regular basis and please show them some grace.

We brought our beloved dog Bentley in for treatment after he sustained a laceration on his front paw from catching it on a sharp branch during his daily run at the park. We were pretty much hysterical and very nervous about Bentley's injury, but every single employee at Bay State was extremely kind, caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable regarding Bentley's treatment. Everyone there is very kind and understanding, and they did everything they could to keep us calm and informed. It's now 8 days after Bentley received the stitches on his paw, and we see improvement in him every day. If you have any kind of animal emergency, this is by far the best place to go!!!

Nico Fiorello in CT sold me a sick Yorkie puppy. I brought her home On a Tues night and the next morning I brought her to the vet to check for Parvo. They told me she was positive and as I sat there crying,, they gave me a list of hospitals to call. Bay state was first on the list. Dr. Rosenstein was absolutely wonderful. She called me 2wice a day morning and night to give me updates (and sent pics). The staff also sent email updates early in the am. They knew it was a financial hardship for me so they did everything they could to keep the costs low. You could really tell that everyone who worked there really cared, It was not just a job to them. Unfortunately after 3 days in hospital, she succumbed to the disease. I was devastated and I know it was hard for the Dr. to call me with the sad news. I like to think that poor little girl knew she was loved at the end. I hope karma gets back to Nico for being such a horrible person!

I want to express an endless amount of gratitude towards the staff at Bay State. Not only have they taken great care of our animals every time we bring them in, but they showed so much care and compassion for us there last week when we brought our 21 year old cat Fluffy in after she suffered a stroke. They provided her with excellent care to keep her comfortable and provided us with every option we had for her treatment.

While we unfortunately had to make the toughest decision for our precious baby, the doctors and techs were so understanding and patient with us. And they took the greatest care of her even in her final moments. The company they work with for cremation also took the best care of her and we will forever be grateful.

Thank you, to all who have worked there and who work there now.

I cannot put into words how I feel about this place. I had my dog for over 10 years and she passed unexpectedly. I was in a panic when I found her and I called Bay State because I didn't know what to do. The woman on the phone spoke so softly and sweet to me and informed me to bring her in. Once I got there they took her to the back and brought me to a private room where they prepared her for me to say good bye. They had a whole book of urns to pick from and allowed me all the time I needed. I paid very little for such a beautiful final resting place. I was given an urn, a rainbow bridge token, her fur, MANY paw prints and more. I love this place. Thank you for making my good bye as easy as you could have. Please anyone if you need to take your pet anywhere let it be here they are amazing and I don't even know the person at the desks name but I want her to know Egypt and I will forever be grateful for how you handled us, (even tho I was a mess)

We just took our dog here after an acutely stressful evening & they saw her right away. The vet tech & vet were extremely kind and helpful, and detailed in their examination and explanation of everything going on. The facility was also literally spotless. Cleaner than human hospitals, and quiet. There were a few other furry patients in there, but they likely triage like a human ER. Our girl had higher needs and was seen immediately which was very reassuring. The front desk staff were also insanely nice. There’s long benches to sit on, as well as some vending machines and a water dispenser. The overall vibe is good & comfortable. They do payment plans IIRC from the flyers, but our visit from a seizure, including medication & food, sans imaging and blood tests was $350, which is very reasonable. The parking lot was also easy to find even in the crazy rain. We’re very thankful for this resource & hope we never have to return but if we ever need an emergency vet again, we will surely 200% be coming here. Thank you everyone who works here for the help.

If I could give 20 stars..it still wouldn't be enough. My puppy Shadow 1 1/2 Border Collie was presented to Baystate Emergency on Feb 20 with a life threatening Diaphragmatic Hernia with multiple organ entrapment. Initially I thought he had an obstruction from a toy/ or starting a respiratory illness. He was retching with unproductive...and with blue gums..extreme weakness upon arrival. He had to be stabilized..as stomach distended with air..and prepared for immediate surgery. Dr. Panissidi performed the surgery..with the help of all OR
staff..attendings....everyone in this entire hospital coming together to help to save his life.
Shadow was released on February 25..and sutures were removed on March 8.
Everyone at Baystate Emergency has shown the highest level of dedication..and compassion for my sweet boy.
We are eternally grateful 🙏 to each and every one of you.
Cheryl, Robert Spaziano and Shadow. Thank you from the bottom of our 💕 heart.

The staff at Bay State are very compassionate from beginning to end. They are kind and considerate. My Shelby was in good hands. They were right upfront with everything which I appreciated. We lost Shelby . You pay more but the service is worth it. Thank you Bay State. I'm just waiting on her remains to come home. 💔💔💔💔😭😭

Emergency visit with my golden doodle. She was diagnosed with pyometra (infected uterus). Dr. LaFountain and Dr. Zweig kept me up to date on everything. They even called when they had to postpone surgery as another emergency came in and they didn't want us to be worried. Called me at 9pm to update us on how she did with surgery. Called again in the morning to tell us about her night. The last touching moment was when they emailed me an update and sent a picture of her. I couldn't of asked for a better team to care for our girl. Best communication and care by far. Thank you Bay State team! Elmee is home, safe, and with our family because of you.

I have had two awesome experiences at Bay State Vet in the past year. My three year old Shepard mix (Briggs) has needed both CCLs operated on (one in May '23 and one in December '23) and I can not recommend Dr. Faulkner Besancon and his team more. They have been nothing but caring, helpful, and supportive through the entire surgical and aftercare process. I am the type of dog parent who sends emails/photos anytime I have a question, and the team always has a quick response time and answers the issue thoroughly, I usually hear back from Dani or Mark who are also amazing - both with Briggs and a stressed dog mom. If you are looking for a surgical team (specifically CCL, since that's all I can speak to) I highly recommend Bay State.

I would also like to mention the front desk workers, they are super nice, helpful with billing questions and are very welcoming when you walk through the doors of Bay State.

I am so grateful to the staff a Bay State for being there and being so helpful and caring. I have had to come in a few times over the last couple of years, one of my dogs was attacked and bitten by another dog, my old dog collapsed and had to be put to sleep, and recently my little trash picker knocked over the garbage and ate a chicken carcass and had a belly full of bones. Each time I felt heard and knew my dogs were in the best hands. Thank you!

My cat passed away due to heart failure and it was really unexpected. We brought Ollie in because we didn’t know what was wrong. He was panting, couldn’t walk, come to find out he was in the stages of heart failure. Beth, the veterinarian who assist us was amazing. And the technicians would come out to updated on what was going on with Ollie. Thank you for taking care of Ollie and our family. Thank you for making the end of his life comfortable. For us and him. My life will never be the same, but just the compassion everyone showed at Bay State provided us with was fantastic, despite the sadness in the situation. Thank you to everyone at Bay State. Thank you for taking care of my Ollie until his very last breath.

This place is 5 stars all the way. My dog Sid fell and hurt himself. We took him in to the vet at 9pm. They took Sid in right away and examined him. They came out told us Wray he had and what they were going to do to treat it. Within 2hrs we were home and Sid was feeling better. I would like to thank everybody for there dedication from the girl behind the counter to the Vets Assistant to the Vet these people deserve alot of credit for what they do and for working the late nite shift. Thank you very much for all you did. I would very highly recommend this hospital to anybody.

Thank you for helping my family and I give Kingsley the perfect goodbye. The doctors are compassionate and caring for the pets and their owners. It's so hard to say goodbye but I was happy that Kingsley peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones that have been with him from the beginning. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Big Thank You to Baystate Emergency Animal Hospital for the great care Ophelia received. It’s so scary when your pet it sick, let alone when it’s midnight and you know they need to be seen immediately. The receptionists were kind and empathetic, their technician was reassuring and made me feel 💯 comfortable leaving her. They gave me a timetable for communication and treatment that was on point and they stuck to it. The Doc that treated her last night took her time in explaining and Answering my questions- at 4:45am- never rushing me off the phone. The daytime Doc today was great- again answering questions and offering advice. I am so glad I took her in.
She is home safe and happy🤍
Thank you again for making sure my girl was ok and providing excellent care for her and support for me♥

This facility was incredible with my cat. My cat needed emergency surgery, and all the doctors were so kind, patient and intelligent. I received progress photos daily and two phone calls daily identifying my cat's progress. All the administrative staff helping me from my initial call to check out were also so compassionate. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone in the Providence/South coast area.

My 20 year old cat Cooper had kidney disease. He would have been 21 on July 4th! He had done fairly well and seemed very healthy for a cat his age. Unfortunately things took a real bad turn in the month of April as he bounced back and forth between decent days and bad days. Well the final week of April was horrible for him and he could barely walk without stumbling or falling. Things turned even worse on a very rainy Sunday night when for the first time he started crying. Not a normal cry for attention like usual. This was a cry for help because something hurt. After a very bad blood test two days earlier, I knew that this wasn't going to end well for him.

I called Bay State Veterinary Services to see if they could handle what needed to be done. I never even heard of them until I did a Google search. Choices for 24 hour Emergency vet hospitals are very limited around here. So I just hoped for the best. They were very friendly and said yes, bring Cooper in. So I brought him in as fast as I could. From the moment I walked thru the door, they were fast and friendly. I brought Cooper's recent blood test results with me and they made a copy and took Cooper into a back room.

They made what was the most painful experience that I've had in over 10 years, as pleasant as possible. Everybody was so compassionate and caring. They explained everything thoroughly in great detail. My girlfriend and I went into the back room where they had Cooper in the most comfortable looking bed with the softest blankets wrapped around him. They even had put a pink bandage with hearts on it around his paw with a small flower attached. At that point he had stopped crying and I think he was thankful to be brought to a hospital where people were taking very good care of him. With my girlfriend and I there to comfort him even more, he was then gently put to rest.

This was my best friend for 20 years and I was sure that I would not even be able to hold it together. However Cooper looked so comfortable at the end that I handled it much better than I thought I would. I'm pretty sure that if I chose to go anywhere else that things would not have gone nearly as well as they did. I chose to have Cooper privately cremated. A nice choice that this hospital offers.

Almost a week later they called and said that I could come pick up Cooper's ashes. I was now dreading this just as much as when I had to rush Cooper there a week earlier. However once again I somehow held it together as much as possible. I am certain that the incredibly nice staff was 95 percent of the reason I didn't start crying like a baby.

Then when I got home I could not believe what I saw. I had expected maybe a card with a paw print and a very small amount of ashes. However I opened up a bag customized with so many things that I didn't expect. Such a beautiful tribute to Cooper. It felt like this hospital put together an actual funeral for him that I was able to take home with me. I can't even thank them enough. They made a horrible situation into the most pleasant tribute to a pet that I've ever seen. I've enclosed a photo of all the nice things they gave me as well as a photo of my handsome cat Cooper which I took just 35 days before he passed away.

I really can't thank you guys enough for all you did. So caring and compassionate every single step of the way. I don't even really want to bring up price, but let's just say that everything cost much less than I thought it would. I even showed a friend the invoice who said that he is really surprised that things were not much more expensive!

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for giving Cooper such a sweet, dignified end to a beautiful life. Not only did you comfort Cooper during a horrible time, but you comforted me as well. I now have enough items to make a shrine for Cooper if I want. This has given me even more closure. It's the best ending I could have asked for under such circumstances. Cooper is now home. Rest in peace my little buddy. You gave me over 20 years of great memories and I will love you forever!
