Aleppo Sweets is an amazing spot with a fantastic atmosphere and even better food. We loved the decorations and hanging plants.

We ordered variety of dishes to split between three of us. We ordered the spicy chicken shawarma wrap, the spicy falafel wrap, the baba ghanoush, the cheese fatayer, and the musabaha and finished off the meal with an ice cream baklava sweet treat to share. We got two Turkish coffees with milk and a hibiscus iced tea that were delicious complements to the meal. There was a bit of a wait for the coffees, but that’s totally understandable considering how they are made!

All of the dishes were delicious but the spicy chicken shawarma with a garlic sauce to die for and the pistachio baklava with vanilla ice cream sandwiched between was out of this world good. The ice cream was the perfect consistency and had pistachios pressed into it. It was the perfect dessert to share!

Local hang out - great place for hot tea and desert on a those New England gray or rainy days. Chill ambiance. Great selection of baklava desserts!

Incredible Syrian restaurant with excellent small bites and teas. Kebabs and hummus were phenomenal. Highly recommend for an afternoon.

This was the best baklava I've ever had, without a doubt. I didn't know it could be so good. I also tried the knafeh and loved it as well. The cafe is beautiful, a really lovely place to spend an afternoon. They clearly take great pride in their work, the whole experience was fantastic.

What a special place to dine and a special place to spend time. The food is so beautifully prepared-the spices fresh and delicious. It’s possible to have a lavish and flavorful meal for a modest cost. Plus-everything about the tea service is excellent. We shared a pot of black tea with fresh mint, served in small glass cups. We highly recommend Aleppo Sweet and urge you to save a little room for the baklava!

Aleppo Sweets is outstanding -- truly special. The food is flavorful, the tea relaxing and plentiful, and the baklava delicate -- in other words, everything is delicious and enjoyable. The atmosphere, too, is quite special. Many thanks to the people running this place for providing such a wonderful experience!

What a fantastic restaurant. Syrian food, and exceptional quality. We had the falafel wraps and tabbouleh. We had the good fortune to sit next to relatives of the owners, And he was gracious enough to share the kibbie, I believe it was the best I have ever had! We then took the baklava home with us. Absolutely delicious, which we enjoyed later in the evening. Highly recommend. I would definitely go back when I was in the area.

This place is busy but super good! I got pepper and lamb and it was amazing! This place serves small servings but the price reflects that. I would recommend going here!

Ordered the baklava and drinks. Baklava was a tremendous treat (small portions, but sweet). Though we took it to go, the cafe looked like a nice pace to go for lunch. I also ordered the Ginger Cardamom Mint Tea (iced) which was on point for a warm day.

The best of the best. Kind, friendly owners and staff, amazing atmosphere, and the food is outstanding - best falafel I've ever had. Make sure you try the mint tea when you go there!

The restaurant is so relaxing and inviting. The food is outstanding! I had a falafel wrap, my daughter had a chicken wrap and we tried the kabobs. The order came with fresh warm bread. Topped of with a hot pot of tea. It's a little oasis in Rhode Island.

Great food from a refugee owned restaurant. Aleppo Sweet has some amazing eats from Syria. We had ordered a plate of knafeh yesterday and we loved it so much we had to try more from there. We had Turkish coffee with some fresh fluffy fatayar bread, one with cheese and another with lamb. Also had to order some lamb kabob that was juicy with a hint of spice! We took home a few baklava, pistachio & chocolate!

Great eats! Go check them out!

I’ve been here the last two times I’ve visited Providence and I can’t imagine not coming here every single time I visit in the future. The food is amazing! We were so excited for our dishes, I didn’t even remember to take a photo until everything was gone. The best I can do is share a photo of the perfection that is the baklava ice cream sandwich.

It is a very cozy and busy coffee&tea place.
The interior design is exotic and corresponds with the traditional Syrian sweets.
The food is better than expected!!
The only small concern I had was that when customers enter the place, no one tells you how it works. So just go to the counter and order!

In A Nutshell:

-Aleppo Sweets is a must-check-out while you are visiting Providence!
-Named after the capital of Syria, you will find this great restaurant close to Brown University in a quaint neighborhood.
-As you walk inside you will be greeted w/ beautiful Arabic music, decor & friendly hello's from the staff who work there.
-There are plenty of seating indoors, plus a small section outside.
-The Chicken Shawarma was the BEST shawarma I've ever eaten! The taste along w/ the crunchiness were so mouth-watering.
-You can also order common Syrian street food such as Fatayer, I really enjoyed the Za'tar spices mixed w/ olive oil & the Aleppo Pepper versions.
-For you meat lovers out there, I also suggest ordering their delicious Chicken Kabob, you get a lot of meat!
-The Turkish coffee is served in an authentic serving container too.

Overall, if you want to try something different in a very casual & friendly atmosphere, you need to stop by Aleppo Sweets in Rhode Island!
