I've been all over the country, and I am a professional in the tackle and fishing industry. This is one of the very best shops in the nation, across the board. From gear to tying to helpful advice- they have the best. Plus, indoor casting so you can test gear AND they have amazing used inventory. Can't speak highly enough of Bear's Den.

Just bought a new Winston rod from Josh at Bears Den. This is easily the biggest, most well stocked fly shop I've ever been in. I went and cast a few different rods and josh set me up with the perfect rod/reel combo. If you're serious about fly fishing and want a premium set up this is the only place to shop. Also Scott the owner, is the man🤙🏼

It is an hour drive from me and it is so worth it. They have such a wide selection and have anything you could need but what makes this place special is the staff. Everyone who works there is extremely knowledgeable and will spend the time to walk you through everything and get you set up even if you have no knowledge of fly fishing. Most of my gear is from here and I have never had a bad experience in this shop and is the first place I recommend when someone is looking for a fly shop.

where else can you practice casting with dozens of rods before buying? bears den is amazing, online or in store. I ordered a new fly line online and they emailed me telling me I could have my order 5 days earlier by choosing a different color line. excellent customer service. the fly selection in store is unreal and the knowledge they have with a no stress atmosphere makes this place a gem. if you're a beginner or pro, this is the place for you.

Finally arrived here to size-up my new waders and wading boots, my first ever to purchase! Staff was very kind, and offered me a few options to try on within my budget, and was able to figure out what to get. Very happy purchase and experience. My only beginner mistake was to ask for invaluable fly information and recommendations for a specific river. Typical beginner... I was also drooling over everything there, ton of beautiful rods, new & used/discounted, as many reels, and of course countless flies. Will definitely be back for more fly stuff! And look forward to starting my new hobby!

Bear's Den is a true full-service fly shop. Not only do they have a knowledgeable staff, their selection is unmatched. Need a specific fly-tying material? Chances are they have it in stock and have it in the color you want. Sometimes, you want to order online, they have a comprehensive website and always ship fast!
Also the staff is awesome when I bring my two little aspiring fly tyers in to get some materials.

Literally the best customer service I have ever experienced, not just in fishing related businesses, in any business. They go way way above and beyond to make you happy in both their in person retail and their online orders. Very experienced and friendly staff that welcomes newcomers to fly fishing without the airs that some of the other stuffy fly shops have. You can’t beat their selection or service.

Absolutely exceptional experience every time I go in. Scott has set up a wonderful environment that clearly takes care of the customers first. He and his staff listens to each customer, makes great recommendations and is helpful at every turn. Indoor casting is great. Rod and reel selection is unmatched. Gear and accessory selection is vast.

I think I have been in hundreds of fly shops in the last 45 years.
I have enjoyed them all to some degree, but without a doubt Bears Den is the best ,most comprehensive shop I have ever been in.
It is fairly close to me which helps, but also I have never not found what I came in for, plus usually a few more odds and ends.
The fly tying section is unbelievable, vast and of the highest quality. The service is good, knowledgeable, but never pushy or unctious.
Better than the catalogs in selection, if not price, and it is more fun to pick out your own hackles then do it online.

If you are starting or are already into fly fishing, this is the store that has everything you need. Ask the staff if you have questions, they know their stuff. They have stuff for every budget.

Incredible service. I have been in the shop about 6 times a season since I’ve started fly rodding and Scott, who sold me my first rod, always greets me by my name since the second time I showed up in the shop. I’m a first generation fly fisherman and the whole staff made each of my new endeavors (fly tying, Salt water, and Spey casting) easy to understand and provided me with great gear. Cannot recommend enough.
