Cumberland Police Department

My neighbor across the street called the police on me four times in one day accusing me of violent acts in my own front yard. The officers came four times that day and each time we spoke for about ten minutes and they left peacefully, stating that I couldn't be arrested for the charge. They were courteous, reasonable, and efficient.

When the property owner came to yell at me in the middle of the street, an officer was sent out on a wellness check and was once again a complete gentleman.

I recommend this group of well intentioned professionals if you have an issue in town.

I lived in Cumberland for nearly 19 years and always found the Cumberland police department very professional. I did get stopped once for going too fast on Bear Hill Road which has been a problem street, and the officer was very kind and gave me a warning. What people need to know is that all people need be respected, especially those who put that uniform on every day. For those who write bad reviews they may be the ones that might not be so pleasant and disrespectful. The police surly put their lives on the line for the public and the far majority are very dedicated and do an outstanding job. Like any profession, some may be better than others. CPD does a great job, and being accredited, they have to live up to higher standards.

Fast vin checks

I understand they cannot be everywhere. But there has not been a cop on Hines Road in a month. People driving through stop signs through out each day. Best time to catch drivers is rush hour. Police have done a good job before...please keep catching them.

Inept and ineffective. Exist only to serve and protect themselves. No community relations. Like most other police departments.

I would rather get arrested by Woonsocket!!!
