Great breakfast spot, keeps that 50s diner atmosphere. Cash only but has an atm on site. My wife loved the off the menu pumpkin pancakes, kid friendly with decent high chairs. The home made corned beef hash was great as well as Benedicts. Mother in law loved the popover. I have eaten in a lot of diners and would come back here for a repeat or lunch great local spot!

I was in Cape Cod visiting my daughter for a few days. We had breakfast here 3 mornings and I loved it! The bananas foster French toast was one of the best breakfast foods I have eaten! There were 3 of us and we each ordered an egg dish and we split the French toast. The omelettes, goat cheese chive scramble and potatoes were all delicious! Almost forgot , we shared the cinnamon roll French toast one morning. Was almost as good as the bananas foster one! The people working there are very nice. Service was great. The last day we were there, one of the chefs came out to ask us how we liked the omelettes. We had ordered the specials and he told us they were his idea. I love that he cared about the food he was preparing! They are crowded but the wait wasn’t very long. We went on Monday before we left and we’re seated right away. Might be a good day to go! Highly recommend this place. Go, you won’t be disappointed!

I had heard some great things about the red cottage restaurant. Especially their breakfasts. Finally got to try it on our last day of vacation and boy were we not disappointed! The menu is extensive. And they have selections that I have never seen at any other breakfast place. One word of warning. If you go, try to get there as early as possible because they do fill up very quickly. We got there right as they opened at 7:00 a.m.

My wife got the French toast foster. It was cinnamon bread that was easily over 1 in thick, with caramelized bananas, rum, and banana liqueur.

I got the lobster red cottage bowl. OMG! It was their red cottage home fries that had ham, tomato, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. On top of that was 8 oz of lobster meat, then on top of that were two eggs. Oh yeah and the potatoes and lobster meat was covered with a fabulous hollandaise sauce. As I said, probably the best breakfasts we've ever had.

Our server was very helpful and patient as we tried to narrow down our options. Spot on recommendations!!! Our food was fantastic and ample... the cinnamon bun French toast was divine, and we even bought a loaf of the bread to create a duplicate dish at home... hands down the best corned beef hash imaginable! Crisped to perfection! I would have liked the lobster to be buttered on the Benedict, but that's a personal preference, and I'd order it again asking for exactly that. They do something to the bacon that makes it a meal in itself.... soooooo good! Cash only, but they do have an ATM...

We ordered takeout for pickup on the way to the Cape. Everyone on the phone and in front was super friendly, food was fast and it was fabulous! Salads, fries were great. Glad I added a muffin to the order when I arrived. This place was super busy, even in the off season! Will go again.

Fun place for breakfast- lunch.
Hidden away in South Dennis it is a quaint, Old Cape Cod throwback. Delicious food, big servings but do remember that it is cash only (there is an ATM). Best to arrive early or you could be standing in line outside..

Simply phenomenal breakfast. The eggs benedict were the best I've ever had. I went for the first time over the summer and then again today- I couldn't wait to go again. Everything was delicious and I will make it a point to eat there each time I'm on the Cape.

Our favorite breakfast restaurant on the Cape is the Red Cottage! The Lobster Benedict is decadent and flavorful! Every menu item our family ordered was delicious!

Service and breakfast was incredible. Definitely worth the wait. Ask for the popovers ( instead of toast).

Was invited here for brunch on Sunday Sep 24, 2023 by one of my summer rental cottage customers. First time for me but they had been there a couple times before. Arrived at noon and finding parking along road was a bit challenging but worked. Was drizzling and being first to arrive, put my name on the list as was going to be about a 25 minute wait or so. I had an umbrella but the young gentleman host at the door offered some umbrellas to other people who were waiting outside (as no room inside) which was nice! If only two people or could sit at the counter, we could’ve been seated a bit sooner but we were three so needed a larger table.
Our server was Jeanne(sp?) who was delightful and helpful! I wanted something unique to this place so had the cranberry walnut chicken salad ciabatta with the Red Cottage home fries for a $4 upgrade. The chicken salad was great, and the cranberry ciabatta was tasty but could have been a bit larger as filling overflowed the bread. The smothered home fries were enjoyable but would have liked a bit larger portion for that additional amount.
My friends had more typical breakfast items and definitely liked everything!
I very rarely have breakfast or lunch out and it was a bit far from South Chatham but I’m certainly happy to have had a chance to experience this popular place.

This is THE place for breakfast. Creative favorites with yummy twists. If you want simple, they've got it. Lobster for breakfast? If you want bacon and spinach crepes, they have that too. Regular, flavored or organic coffee. Worth the normal 30 minute wait.

A restaurant that has been around for 70+ years that has a 1/2 hour wait on a rainy Tuesday morning doesn’t really need another great review, but this place is fabulous. It’s a perfect breakfast spot in every way (and especially the wonderful corned beef hash). And our server, Sue, was great.

For years we drove by this little place on our vacation and the full parking lot with cars parked down the street deterred is from braving the crowds. Today we finally did! Absolutely FANTASTIC! I’ve never had a corned beef hash that wasn’t disgustingly salty! (Instead it left me wanting more)! Find a parking spot, park on the street, walk there... WHATEVER you have to do, you should have breakfast here!

I can find no faults.
Be prepared to wait for a table. Don’t come here with impatience. 8AM on a Thursday and the lot was packed with vehicles, and a crowd standing outside. I had to park on the shoulder of the road about 200 yards away.

Being alone, I snagged the odd counter seat upon arriving. The menu is weighty. There’s a lot to choose from. Mostly the same items in various combinations. Sitting in view of the grill, ruled out Hash. It really has to impress me, and I could see that it would not. That’s just me. I’ve tried a lot of hash, all over the country.
I wanted something I could get no where else, and ended up on the Country omelet. I know, I know. How is a meat and veggie omelet special? The grill cooks sold it for me. Such skill and attention to detail. It was good, not moan out loud extraordinary. The crispy potatoes were cooked right the first time.

I should have gotten the Cottage potatoes instead.
I should have upgraded my bread choice to Apple Pie French Toast.
I should have tried some sausage gravy on my omelet.
I thought of all these things while reading Yelp reviews and completely forgot to execute a single one. Maybe I would have moaned out loud.

Super friendly, patient, and helpful staff. A mature staff that you don’t see checking their phones.

Very clean place, and of course, cash only.

** Hidden in the meat sides is the offering of Cajun seasoning. The hot sauces are standard and tired. Put that seasoning in some shakers or peppermill grinders to add some “Oomph” to the meals. If I saw a server grinding a mill at another table on a patrons plate, I know I would inquire.

This place never disappoints me! The food is always gourmet. I had the lobster benny most recently, which was worth every penny along with the red cottage home fries which was entirely a meal itself. The fresh squeezed oj is a great offering and the coffee is perfect.

Big meals at a reasonable price, gluten friendly. Service was great, waitress was on point and somehow managed to keep my coffee mug full. Everything tastes great and they had a nice flower garden in bloom in the front.
