VCA Pleasant Bay Animal Hospital

I've been going here for the last 35 years. Dr Watts, Dr Coleman and Dr Baker have taken such great care of my four dogs and one cat over all those years. Recently, my dear sweet Timmie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. The loving care that was extended to both Timmie and I was exceptional from the staff and Dr Watts. When I rescue my next Jack Russell, that pup will definitely see my favorite doctors at Pleasant Bay.

Two techs came running out to the car to get George after my husband walked in and told them. He was taken immediately to a treatment room and to a waiting vet. It was wonderful to have that responsiveness, especially when the cat was in danger. Thankfully he is ok and was able to be released that same day. The vet explained everything to us and gave us clear instructions for treatment. Highly recommend Pleasant Bay for their professionalism and caring.

Dr. Nancy Weintraub is so great, very comprehensive and thorough and compassionate in her assessment and diagnosis and recommendations. She does a full physical exam as well as she has decades of experience dealing with complex medical issues. It’s not easy taking care of my best friend at 16 years old but at least I know I’m doing everything I can. Thank you

I have taken both of my dogs to just about every vet at VCA. They are all my favorite. They provide great veterinary care with professionalism and compassion.

We were visiting here on the Cape when our dog got pink eye. June the receptionist got us an appt in 2 days and then called back with a cancellation for the following day. She was very kind and compassionate.
The appt was the most thorough one any of my dogs have ever had! We’ve had several dogs and vets in our 50 years of dogs. Dr Watts made us all feel very sure of his diagnosis and meds.
Great visit! Fabulous staff! Reasonable rates! Thank you all for getting Ben back on a healthy track for the rest of his vacation!

Wonderful experience even with Curbside care... Dr. Baker (though I have not had the pleasure of meeting him yet) seems very knowledgeable and caring! All of the staff have been extremely kind and professional... thank you as I am coming from a not so empathetic veterinary practice and it is refreshing to know my babies are in great hands! We are all very happy with VCA Pleasant Bay - my husband, me and Clarence our dog! Dr. Baker and the entire staff have been wonderful caring for Clarence- even seeing him twice a week after his mast cell tumor removal to change his dressing. He is now back to his old self, long walks and romps in the woods and at the shore. I include a picture of him all tired out after a big day. Thanks to all!

Great place. Owners are not allowed in because of the pandemic so they wait outside, which I think is a terrific idea. They took Juno In and were really nice to her, she felt safe and happy. Happy dog, happy owner! 💖

We had never been here before but a news of a 'growth' and much mucus from my dogs nose, led us to visit Dr Watts, while in Chatham for an extended visit. He was thourough, caring and honest. He suggested a specialist in Boston which led to a very happy ending! We will definitely go back, if needed and recommend him to others!

Excellent facility and wonderful staff. The vets were very thorough and caring while answering all our questions. Our 10 month old Goldendoodle was in good hands!

I would rate my experience at VCA Pleasant Bay Animal Hospital as excellent a #10. I know theres only 5 stars but i still give them a 10!! My sweet cat Daisy has been there 2xs and has seen Dr. Baker. He is kind, caring and understanding and knowledgeable about her and her ailment. I really like that he follows up and calls about her w/o making you feel rushed. Everyone there is so good at their jobs. I highly recommend VCA for your pet also.

They are amazing here! Since we added our cat to the fam she has gone to them. Always treat her with such respect and care. Also treating me with all my Cat Mom concerns with reapwct and care as well. All around great staff. I can not recommend them enough. Love out VCA!!

My mom and I love this place. They have treated our pet for years and have always provided amazing care and follow up. Dr. Watts is an excellent vet who has helped save our pet's life on numerous occasions. He was always great at following up and calling us at home to check in and see how things were going and offer advice. Highly recommend trusting them to care for your pet. :)

Our kitty got her tail caught in the doorway and had a small injury. We were able to make an appointment online for the very next day. June at the front desk checked us in and was so supportive even though we had never been to the clinic before (just visiting the Cape for a few weeks). My cat hates going to the vet after a painful UTI years ago, and the awesome tech (I forget his name!) helped her keep calm so Dr. Baker could inspect her tail. The team was so awesome and professional. Highly recommend VCA Pleasant Bay!

Two days before we were scheduled to drive back to NYC after spending 3 weeks in Cape Cod, my 87-lb Rottweiler snagged one of his paw nails while getting in the car. We had a crying dog with a hanging nail and an upcoming 5-hour drive, so I was very relieved that they accommodated us the next morning to remove the painful nail and prescribe meds to avoid infection. They were very professional and cautious about Covid—I called upon arrival and they explained the protocol before they took my dog inside while I waited in the parking lot. About 20 minutes later, my dog had one less paw nail and was pain-free! The bill was still less than what it would have cost me in NYC.
