Dolphin Restaurant

First time visiting for dinner last evening and it was fantastic. Homemade, warm bread was wonderful. Swordfish tips were very tasty, perfectly prepared and terrific. Wine list modest but nice selections. Charming ambiance, friendly staff. Looking forward to our next visit already.

Great spot for delicious see food in Cape Cod. The staff is pleasant, and the bathrooms are clean. The clam chowder is also very tasty.

Great casual place. Good food and friendly people. Great location right on the ocean. Outdoor space for dining in the good weather. Nice specials that expand the menu. Mike the owner works hard to make it a nice experience for all. Pictured is a special item of pork chop with potato and stuffing. It was delicious. This place is not fancy but it is a great place to go and have fun with the friendly people and staff and enjoy good food

We have eaten here a half dozen times and never had a bad meal. Food is reasonably priced. Oysters are superb as is their sole and shrimp. My sister in law loves the citrus butter which is served with most of their dinners.

This is a must if you visit the town of Barnstable in Cape Cod. Be ready to pay the price for good food (not extravagant - but more than most family restaurants - well worth the cost). The service is excellent, the food was amazing both times I have visited. Definitely worth every penny. This is such a lovely place to eat and relax.

We had a family dinner Saturday night. The swordfish was excellent, and the staff treated us like we'd been coming there since the 70's. (We have) .

It's all about the food. I got a Cape Cod Reuben. My word, it was excellent.

The hostess seemed sick of her job, but our server was excellent.

Conveniently locate close to CCCCollege and the comedy club, Dolphin is where you will end up for dinner for an event at either of these places. As such the place is packed on nights when there's an event. Make a reservation if you can get someone to answer the phone, (which is not likely). Just keep calling, they told us. Eventually someone will answer the phone.
We just dropped in without a rez and ate at the bar, which was lovely. The place is old Cape Cod decor. It was very pleasant.
Our bartender was a busy guy but took care of us with aplomb.
Food came out hot and delish. I had a burger and Sue had scallops. Both were delicious.
There's parking out back, but it is limited and tightly packed. Grab a spot on the street if you can. If our going to the Comedy Club you could easily park there and walk across the street to the Dolphin.
I'm looking forward to stopping in there on a night when they aren't so packed. If you're in Barnstable/ Hyannis I'd recommend dinner there

Very nice seafood. We especially liked the Barnstable raw oysters, a macadamia nut baked scrod, and the fried fish tacos. Outdoor seating under the tent was perfect. Jillian was a friendly and effective server. Thank you!

The food was excellent. The sea food was fresh and delicious. The bartender, who was also one server, was friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu, and made great suggestions and great cocktails! We sat at the high top tables in the bar area, and the atmosphere was good. The only negative was the hostess, who was rude, dismissive, and a bit nasty. We turned to leave after trying to talk to her. Thank goodness the bartender stopped us and encouraged us to eat at the high tops.

This place is, very quaint we were there with friends, I had fish and chips, it was very tasty. My friend had shrimp stuffed the plate looked like art.

Reputation for quality is well deserved. I was born and raised in a seafood Mecca and I was impressed enough to go back twice in the same week. Crumb crusted scrod, baked scallops and steak entrees were all wonderful. Calamari was excellent. Buffalo cauliflower was good and not too spicy. We enjoyed the key lime pie with strawberry ice cream and mudpie for dessert and can recommend both. Service was prompt, warm and efficient. I will be making the Dolphin Restaurant a family tradition. Thanks!

Had a lovely dinner here with family for my mom's birthday. The food was excellent. There is a coziness to the place that is almost unmatched but they have excellent fresh fish too.

If you want a local casual feel don't let the white table cloths fool you. Belly up to the bar or claim a high top table. The Big Elm IPA on draft is wonderful ($4.75). Their New England Clam Chowder is fantastic, the fries are seasoned just right, and the burger was cooked perfectly. Being somewhat new to coastal cuisine I don't have a comparison yet but the stuffed Quahog was delicious.

The most delicious seafood plate - the scallops were the best I have ever had. The simple light batter was perfection.
Very friendly staff- greeted warmly and staff very attentive.

Absolutely amazing experience. The owner or manager met us from behind the bar. He was so welcoming. Once seated our waitress met us with the best friendly attitude. The food was out of this world. Had the scallop casserole which was the best I've ever had. Cannot wait to come back!!! Oh and the huckleberry lemonade was amazing!!!

The place was very upscale with a coastal feel. The staff was very friendly and attentive, especially our waitress Linda. I didn’t feel rushed and the food was magnificent. The choices were fair and the quality was beyond my expectations for such a small, local establishment. You wont be dissapointed!
