Mezzo is Now Gibson's

Now to date… This is the best eatery I’ve had in Midway. I don’t want to make this super long but the food he deserves my gratitude.

First off, the young ladies who took care of me upon my arrival, were nice and kind. Already starting off good. I was quickly seated, not hurriedly and given ample time to review the menu. So many selections that made my mouth water just by reading the description. After some time, I asked the young lady for her suggestions and she happily gave me the rundown.

For starters I ordered the shrimp cocktail. It came to me as soon as she walked away. I think they can read minds.. After being placed in front of me, I saw a wonderful display of little seahorses dancing around the plate. The taste was phenomenal. So fresh as if they were caught minutes ago. The flavor was mild and quite tasty.

After devouring the little bites of heaven, I ordered the main course…. Seafood pasta. I was also informed that it came with a salad. So I opted for the Caesar. And what a great choice that was? Whoever came up with the idea to add bacon along with the croutons and banana peppers, is pure genius. So much flavor and the right combo.

At last, it was time for the pasta and as expected, it was scrumptious. The pasta contains shrimp, crawfish, and sausage. Topped with a Cajun cream sauce and veggies. Can someone say palate pleaser? Yes, yes, yes.

Also might I add the sweet tea was great. Not overly sweet like that McDonald’s junk. But I digress.

Overall this was a stellar experience and I can’t wait to return to the grail of food awesomeness.

I was introduced to Gibson's some time ago by my fiance and I was greatly impressed. They are, in my opinion, more of a high end yet casual place to dine. Prices can be a little high on some menu items, but when you serve food as well prepared as they do then the price of those particular menu items is definitely justified. My favorite item is the chicken parmesan.

Arrived here around 5ish, we were seated outside right away and our server made sure we had our drinks. Not a large menu, but something for everyone, and the quality is superb! Homemade everything, even desserts! Excellent food at a very fair price.

The eggplant parmesan was delicious and filling. Waitress was friendly without being obtrusive. Restaurant is charming in a minimalist urban way. We'll plan to stop here again on a future visit to charming and historic Midway!

Fantastic food, service and location. Highly recommend stopping by, enjoy the outdoor seating. The waffle fries are incredible! We had southwest chicken sandwich and California club, both delicious!

Food was excellent!! Service was as well !!! We got the Calzone and calamari and it was soo good, me and my husband split and had left overs. Atmosphere was very relaxing and our server was friendly and very efficient. Thank you for a great meal 😋

Great charm, friendly service, delicious burger, best fries of my life and I don't even like fries! They have their own specialty roasted coffee from Lexington Coffee and Tea, called Mezzo Blend. Pretty cool!! Looking forward to going back!

The food was very good and prices are reasonable. Service was excellent and atmosphere was nice. Small, simple menu with something for everyone. I'd recommend.

Incredible place! The drink selection is plentiful. I had their short rib lasagna. Had to be one of the tastiest slice of lasagna I've ever had. And I've had alot of lasagna. If anyone has had a sick or injured mother, then you understand how much experience I have with different recipes. Top notch food. Awesome outdoor area to enjoy a beautiful night as well. The band they had tonight was the icing on the cake for the atmosphere. I heard they have a live band every Wednesday. Will be back.

Huge selection of drinks. Fun atmosphere. Service was great. Waiter had a great personality.

Had a great dinner with a large group of friends. Food was excellent and service was top notch. I'll definitely be back.

We decided to eat here on a whim and it did not disappoint. We started with the calamari which was delicious and seasoned just right. Then we ordered the garlic bread with our meal of seafood Alfredo. The sauce was creamy and perfect. It tasted so good. I was very impressed. The waitress was nice and helpful. I give it five star but please note, Chef, there was cartilage on the mussels that shouldn't be there. But over all the meal was delicious and the service was great. Will return!!

The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. The spinach dip was as good as any I have ever had in any restaurant. The toasted rounds and fresh vegetables were perfect accompaniments. The entree was good and plentiful. The chef came and talked with us, and we had a good conversation. The only downside was that my companion wasn't able to get her usual wine. The substitute was acceptable.

First time trying Mezzo. Best food and service we have had in a long time. Every thing was cooked to perfection, and you can tell they used all quality ingredients. Appetizer, salad, and dinner all came out in a timely manner. I can't say enough about the place. Would highly recommend. Also came on a Saturday after 5pm.

We made an unplanned stop here a couple weekends ago & glad we did so. Its casual, decor pretty basic, BUT our dinners were excellent. I really enjoyed my wood fired pizza! Our waiter was excellent and even gave us some great suggestions on things to do while we visited the greater Lexington area.

The poutine fries were delicious, and it was a huge serving. They have a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. I highly recommend.

The proprietors of Gibson's have brought their touch and atmosphere to this establishment and it is telling from the moment you walk in the door. A happy staff means a great dining experience - thanks first to all of them. At every Gibson restaurant you can bravely try anything you dare on the menu - don't get the same thing every time. Everything is good. Finally, you can't find a better atmosphere than Midway, Ky. It is a bucket list destination. Go. Just go.

Went there this past Saturday with a small group and had such a great time. First off, our waiter was great.. very attentive with a fun personality. The food was really awesome, and very good size portions. I'm from New Jersey so I kinda know what good authentic Italian food should be like, and this was really great!! I had heard about the head chef, and that he was very good.. but I was pleasantly surprised!! I had the short rib lasagna 😋... OMG.. awesome!! I think it was a special, so not sure how often they have it.. but if you see it.. get it!!!!

So we end up having a drink afterwards and it turns out that it's karaoke night... this was SO MUCH fun!! We all had a blast!! A lot of talented singers (a few pretty bad ones too.. typical .. but that's always super entertaining also). My wife and I will definitely be back here every time we come to KY - with is somewhat frequent, as my mom live here.

Absolutely recommend this place, every aspect gets 5 🌟 from me and my wife.

This establishment deserves way more credit than some of the reviews read. Visited for a late night dinner around 9pm, food wasn't rushed in order to close the kitchen. Our waitress Annabelle was very attentive and friendly. Would recommend!

Very authentic and wonderful food. We had the house salad, bread sticks and lasagna. Definitely the best Italian food I've had! Service was good, and the place was very nice ,inside and beautiful outside dining area. I can't wait to go back !
