HI Hyannis Hostel

This was first time staying at a hostel, and I’m so glad I did! The price was incredible, and I felt very safe and comfortable. Everything was very clean. Location was within walking distance of Hyannis attractions, and I could walk 15 minutes to Kalmus Beach. Great experience!

I have stayed here every month they’re open for the last 2 years now and I can only give raving reviews about this place.

Every time I’ve been here, the staff have been friendly, courteous and knowledgeable of questions I had and always helped me when needed.

Don’t even get me started on location. When most people think hostels, they think inner city and sketchy. Not this one. You’re right next to some of the nicest bars (that also stay open the latest) and it’s right next to the water. I’ve never felt safer at a hostel in my life.

The building is large, clean and has everything you need for a fun hostel stay. It’s incredibly affordable too so there aren’t any issues that are even remotely an issue for such a great deal.

The only issue which sometimes occurs is the rooms don’t have AC, which can be tricky to sleep in during hot nights. Most nights on the Cape are comfy however, so this isn’t a dealbreaker by any means.

I love this hostel, I love the cape and whether you’re on a budget or just backpacking, this is the definitive place to stay.

This hostel was incredible! My partner and I had a queen sized private room which was perfectly sized and very homey! The greatest part was that we even had a WATER VIEW from the room window!!

All shared locations were super clean and cared for. If you like to cook, a unique range of herbs like lemon verbena, basil, cilantro, and more awaits for you in the garden. Everyone on the property was so lovely and caring.

Great location in front of the harbour, free parking, Staff excellent and very helpful, especially Carmelo! Room and bathroom very clean. Highly recommended!

I've stayed in more than a hundred hostels all over the world and this was one of the nicest. It was cleaner than many of the hotels I've stayed in. Really spotless, which is unusual for a hostel. Well run and clearly well cared for - it's even got a charming backstory.

The HI Hyannis was absolutely lovely! We arrived in Hyannis early on a Saturday and even though we hadn't checked in yet they allowed us to park in the hostel lot for free for the day. After 3 we were able to check in, and our 6 person room we'd reserved turned out to be a private cabin (one room with six beds and a bathroom.) Instead of keys or keycards (which in my experience with hostels tend to wander off, leaving you with a $10 charge) there are electronic keypads on all the doors with numeric codes.

The beds are comfy, the sheets and bathrooms are clean, and the food, while nothing special, was totally adequate.

I usually cringe at the idea of staying at a hostel, but this place was absolutely perfect for a quick weekend at the Cape. Much cheaper than any nearby hotel, clean, tidy, friendly staff, plenty of bathrooms, beachy decor, and books and games for guests to use. If you're afraid of hostels, give this place a try anyway, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Awesome staff, they were so knowledgeable of the area, welcoming and friendly! The location was prime- very close to local restaurants, bars, and public transport that I could use to explore the rest of the cape area! They have a beautiful fire pit and yard, as well as a neat and tidy common area. Would recommend again and again :)

I stayed at this hostel for two weeks in July 2019. It was the best hostel I have ever been to. The staff was wonderful, especially MaryLiz. She was friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. The hostel was clean and the breakfasts were great!

Beautiful Hostel conveint to island ferries; Nantucket and Martha's Vinyard, Cape local and Boston buses, plus local sights.
