Great park!! For all the people complaining about homeless folks - where exactly would you go if that happened to you? Don't say a shelter - there's only 2,000 shelter beds here and over 13,000 homeless people. Not to mention the fact that a lot of shelters are dangerous and full of violence because they aren't monitored properly. If they kick them out of the parks- they'll come live in your front yard. Want that? Then give them this. There's several outreaches helping these people and giving them hope, resources, and ideas to help to get them off the streets. If you're mad at homelessness, talk to your governor - who is doing NOTHING to help these people. The numbers keep rising. For now, this is a pretty peaceful park where the visitors and homeless people can co-exist. Please remember that they are human beings, too. They also stay mostly to the south side by the lake, so if you want to bring your kids to play- the playground is way across Bethenny Home and pretty empty.

Beautiful Park. Slightly overrun by vagrants and drug dealers in the center area near the water....looks like a well established encampment for the homeless. The northeast corner of the park near the street has another encampment near the big tree.
Overall, VERY BEAUTIFUL PARK for both homed and unhomed alike!
Just remember to watch your kids around water! 😎🤘

Glendale police were training rookies today and made arrests of a couple homeless persons. They loaded their belongings, a shopping cart full of stuff, a bicycle, and bike trailer full of assorted backpacks and other stuff. Members of the one group continued to fish after being cleared by the officers and one gentleman actually caught a decent sized catfish. He released it back into the pond immediately. This park has an unusual high percentage of homeless residents and the belief is that most were run out from Phoenix area parks to here. Several faith based organizations serve meals on a weekly basis and also bring clothing, shoes, hygiene items, pet supplies, etc... Some of the participants would go hungry if not for the kindness of these organizations as well as local residents who come and give what they can. This park is a mixture of families who bring their children to play on the slides and swings or celebrate birthday parties. Everyone gets along well. Street Outreach is available from Sonora Prevention Works who provide harm reduction services every Monday. This park is a new and innovative collaboration between all you enjoy it and depend on it. Things are going pretty good here.

Get duck food and feed the ducks. Don't do bread. It's not good for them.

This place is a get nice public park to hangout out or visit. It's very beautiful they have a nice little pond you call fish in all everything. They have a life size replica of a plane which is super friggin cool. There's a pretty nice playground so the kids can have fun. This is a place for the family, or taking the dogs out for a little hike even. I was impressed with this place for sure I most definitely wanna visit again if I have the chance!

They should change the name of this park to Compassion park. I've been in the area for over 30 years and every family that has a missing relative or is homeless or what ever the reason is that they are displaced can be found passing through this park. The #Dream Center visits frequently to feed and offer spiritual services to everyone out there and im sure they are not the only ones. I've seen many other organizations out there but im not too familiar with the names. Everyone out there is some ones loved one, someones brother, sister, mom, dad, grandma ,grandpa, aunt or uncle. So next time you are at this park it's not a scary park just people trying to survive and they are human and just want love. Anyhow
...
I love this park. I take my sis, nieces and nephews, and cousins here. There's good time to be had here if your not afraid of human contact 😉

Bonsall Park is a nice place to visit if you prefer a cement walking/biking path. This surrounds a large pond that has a fountain in the middle of it. It is also home to ducks. There is a nice, colorful playground for children. There are public restrooms.

Had a wonderful day today, the Ladies from Place of Freedom were here today, They painted nails and did make up for the ladies, then we discussed My Wedding that is taking place next week on the 4th of July!! They prayed with all of us and served us Pizza and Sports drinks.. They truly are A Blessing to Us All.. Thank you...

I gave it 5 stars bc of the waterfalls and the seating. Also bc of the sea saw in the playground. There may be some homeless people there. There are so many different walks of life I can not be sure bc I mind my own business and dont waste my time paying attention to others or judging people. Im pretty sure even homeless people have beeter things to do ( like trying to survive) than wasting their time following strangers! They were probally headed the same way and people who are full of themselves think everything is always about them lol!!

At times, a few down trodden individuals are present, but they are almost always respectful, and don't cause any troubles. Park is large, with a state-stocked fishing pond, water fountains, drinking fountains, men's and women's bathrooms in good repair, modern playground equipment and A FREAKIN' JET AIRPLANE! Not many parks can boast that. See for yourself. Thumbs up.
