went here last year, loved all the teachers. They actually care about you and will do their best to help you. Great school :)

I was in the first ever graduating class for this school and it was the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I was not prepared for anything. This school ruined my chances to go to college and I implore any parent considering this institution to simply enroll your child in royal palm.
To begin, I was lied to when approached by the recruitment to go here. My parents and I were told that as the first ever class of acpa all students were going to receive a free laptop and, upon graduation, a scholarship. It did not take me long to realize the laptop was never coming but they waited until 8th grade to finally reveal that the scholarship they had been touting for the last three years was only going to be awarded to one student. Not the whole class as they promised. I didn't realize the Cardinals were so very strapped for cash.
As a poor American this was heart breaking but what was harder to come to terms with was learning that I was leagues behind my peers in high school. The one to two teacher system had not worked. And I was behind in math, science, history, and computer tech. I was faced with a completely uphill battle just to complete high school. Freshman year was a game of catch-up.
I also want to talk about the mentor program which was an utter joke and beyond under-managed. It was so fun going through two mentors who simply dropped out after one meeting to then be pawned off an administrator. Nothing is better for the self-esteem of a middle schooler than to feel not interesting enough for adults.
The teachers were also woefully under-prepared for their positions. People better suited for early grade-school teaching at most if they should have been teachers at all.
The Cardinals are a subpar team at best and their game performances still outshine the performance, admin, or management of this school.
The administration and the Cardinals should be ashamed of how they treated their pioneering class and they should be embarrassed that this school still exists.
I am writing this at the behest of my therapist and I tell you this so you can see how much this school messed me up.
Please, send your child to literally any other middle school in Phoenix. For their sake and their success. This school will only hold them back.
