I always hate to give a poor review to a business, but I'm afraid this one is fully warranted.

It was about nine months ago or so that I needed the windshield replaced in my car. I called up Glassworks and he came out to where I work with his assistant, and they installed my windshield. Immediately it was rather clear that professionalism wasn't quite their forte'. They left little pieces of broken glass on the dashboard, got urethane on my interior trim, and generally went about the job in a haphazard way. They got the glass in - which I was thankful for - but it wasn't sitting quite right in the channel. Oh well, not a big deal - it's done finally.

It was about four or five months later that I noticed paint starting to bubble on top of my car, coming up from the glass. I tried to fix it by sanding it down and spray paint over top of it, but once the A-pillars started rusting too I decided it was time to fix it right.

I called up a glass installer who is local to me, and he came out to remove the old glass at my home. It's rather apparent that rust was present at the time of the previous installation, but Glassworks didn't really do anything about it. There was a solid rust bead over the entire windshield channel, but fortunately it hadn't rusted through completely anywhere. I wire-wheeled the surface and prepped the rust, and had my new glass installer come back to install another windshield. What he did next was beautiful - he had a bottle of specialized windshield flange primer which he coated the entire area with, and it hardened with a thick layer. He said he's done numerous jobs over the years - even vehicles with rust present - and that he's never had anyone come back with more rust. He came fully prepared to do whatever needed to happen to make sure the job was done right, and I was extremely impressed with his work.

So I call glassworks later and fill them in on the whole story. He's upset that I went somewhere else instead of calling him back. This I can understand, but I honestly wasn't willing to trust him with my car again. I asked him if he'd be willing to reimburse me some cash to help out, considering what had happened, and he said he'd call back in a couple of days once he'd thought it over. He never called. He even called my new glass installer an idiot for warrantying his work against rust. I had to laugh at that one.

Lesson learned I suppose. Save yourself the headache and look for a glass installer elsewhere.
