This is a nice trail for when you don't have time to get lost in the middle of nowhere. I like to deep dive into the wilderness when I hike. However, this is a beautiful trail that's not too treacherous..and if you are able to stop and read about the history, that's a plus!

The creek is relaxing.

I like my solitude or being accompanied by few when hiking.
So, that's being said that's the only dislike or downside... everyone knows about it.
There's usually tons of cars and people. Even though the lot was full of about 20 cars or more, it was few, and in-between that, we saw or passed anyone. There's plenty of outside to go around where you won't feel overcrowded.

There's a nice little spot for a picnic
But reminder to take your trash. I saw too much laying around, hiding under things.. I'll be going back to pick up more when I come across it.

Was a lot to see, a great place to hike and enjoy the trials. Seeing very old rock formations. Beautiful scenery. Cons: no restrooms. Great place for taking pictures.

Amazing all around. The drive to the trail entrance is gorgeous with quaint farms on either side of the country road. It's a short walk to the creek with a bridge going over it. Take a right at the bridge to travel down the creekside to the sky high waterfall. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the waterfall, and the trek can be wet/slippery/muddy. It's nature immersion. At the top of the falls there are some unique rock formations. To the right of the top of the falls you'll find the footpath down as well as ropes to hold onto. While the waterfall is technically off limits, you'll probably see several other groups of people making the same trek there or back. Great local beauty.

Quite a bit of a challenge for an inexperienced hiker once you get to the water fall. There's ropes to help you rapell down to prevent slipping. If you're adventurous, look for the cave around the corner and along the high wall!

This is a delightful small trail in the woods of Jessamine County, KY. Basically a nature preserve. Trails are well maintained. Summertime offers flowers, butterflies and other niceties. It’s an easy hike and easy to get to.

Best Park close to Lexington!!!! The view is amazing!!! Just one important thing people got to be very careful as is very dangerous walking through the creek and getting down the fall...There is no signs at all!!! Be careful it’s very nice and it’s worth it!!!

A bit steep down to the creek, but well worth it. We enjoyed this on a very warm fall day but it wasn't overly warm. Lots of shade and very few bugs.

The hike itself was nice, however, we did not get a chance to see the waterfall because it is not on the trail. It is posted before entering: "stay on trail, stay out of creek, waterfall area prohibited." Also, it is posted "effective May 1, 2021 is by appointment only."

Far enough away from society to feel like a true hike. Had been looking for a trail like this one since moving up from Southeast KY years ago. Glad we finally gave it a try. Didn't end up finding the waterfall, just enjoyed wading the creek and taking in the views. Will be back very soon!

I've hiked here a few times, just the main path and I haven't tried going to the waterfall yet but you can see it from the higher ground. It's a decent path, easy to see. The turn around in the woods used to be harder to find, but it looks like they added some more red spray markers to help identify where to go which is helpful. There are some lookouts over the creek and the river that are beautiful! The woods are so peaceful and mostly quiet. I would consider this a moderate to easy path and takes me about 45 minutes to complete.

Who knew Jessamine Co had this hiking trail! Lived here my whole life and just now hearing about it.. Wish they had picnic tables, have no public restrooms (that I noticed) but the trails were easy to navigate and clean. Close to home so great for a evening outdoors, picnic also pet friendly!

The trail is well marked throughout the hike. If it's been wet recently make sure to bring adequate shoes because the trail will be very very muddy.

Really pretty! We did go past the end of the trail not having our phone open with the map so make sure to not go past the "Loop" sign on a tree! There is a trail line you can walk past the Loop sign but it isn't mapped and gets pretty difficult. If you do I'd stop after the octopus lookin tree. Beautiful sights though!

Our hike was 10 degrees cooler because of the thick canopy! Beautiful place, but sounds like there's a rifle range nearby? So not the most peaceful hike.

Beautiful views of the palisades. Easy to get to. Moderate hike after the water/bridge.

It’ll be muddy after a rain. Recommend wearing boots.

It’s down a single-lane residential road, so be careful driving.

So grateful to have such a pretty outdoor space made available to the public. Didn't realize we had to make an appointment, but will do so on our next visits 👍
