Authentic Mexican "hole in the wall" restaurant. Perfect! Had a great lunch here with great tamales, chilaquiles, and other traditional foods. The sauces were made in house and packed both flavor and heat. Will definitely visit again next time we're in the area!

Incredible! We came in before a show, just down the street. Our server was a young gentleman with the sweetest demeanor. His laugh was infectious. I was so excited to hear they had coke in a glass bottle. We were going for nostalgia on this afternoon.
On top of the pleasant staff, the whole vibe was nice. The food was phenomenal. Awesome birthday dinner & so affordable!

We went to the aquarium and I was starving and none of the nearby options really spoke to me. So we started walking and ended up here. It instantly reminded me of a neighborhood place in Baltimore, but even better because they sell booze here!

I got the flautas platter and a vegetarian taco for me and my daughter to share and we couldn't finish it. It was amazing! Probably the best meal I've had in the Cincinnati area.

Don't sleep on this place!

Love this place! If you want authentic Mexican food I highly recommend trying this place. The wife had the carne asada which was full of flavor and the rice/beans were good. I got the menudo and this is the best menudo I’ve had out here (Los Angeles native). I also tried their tacos de tripa (tripe) and they were amazing. Not too much of a fan of crispy tripe, I prefer it a little chewy but it was still really good. They weren’t shy with the amount of meat and the tortillas were handmade which is a plus. They have Sol beer which is a hard to find beer out here. Their chips are fresh and their salsa is amazing. The service was exceptional. The gentleman was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is great. We sat in the back area where it was private and chill. This will be my go to menudo spot. The 40 minute drive from home was definitely worth it.

Excellent. Real. Not typical American restaurant fare. The tipoff is seeing the salsas in squeeze bottles.

Not only is the food great, the workers are also really nice and friendly. I highly recommend coming here if you haven't.

La Mexicana is an excellent restaurant with fairly priced food and great service. Their menu is small, but they have the popular Mexican dishes you would expect. The chips and salsa are fantastic, fresh, and unique. This place is definitely a hidden gem that is not to be missed!

This is scrawled in chalk behind the main register in the place and I have to say, I agree! I had the pollo con mole. Homemade mole sauce was to die for. Burritos were stuffed and all the ingredients were fresh. The salsa had just the right amount of heat and loads of cilantro. The ambiance was awesome with the store in the back and the eclectic décor and different levels and whatnot. There was a couple celebrating their anniversary who invited their waiter to take a shot, and he did. It felt like having dinner with my extended family. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it. Worth the walk away from the Levee.

This restaurant truly has the best chicken I have never tasted. I love the soft chicken tacos. Chips are also exceptionally good and always extra fresh. All of the staff have been extremely accurate in getting our orders correct, served in a timely fashion and always with a smile and friendly conversation. I always enjoy coming here with my grandson and I am not even a fan of Mexican cruisine, but am a picky eater, so big compliment from me!

I've been here several times and surprised I hadn't reviews it yet. Each time I've been here, the food and service is always the best. They have true Mexican cuisine, perfectly made drinks and food, service is always top notch. If you're ever near Downtown Cincinnati, I recommend you checking them out!

Food was so delicious and sufficient in quantity. This place offers both veg and non vegetarian Mexican food options.

I had never eaten authentic Mexican before. Omg I'm never going back to American. By far the best food anywhere! HomeMade chips fresh and warm reheats well. The salsa with fresh cilantro lip smacking good. So very impressive!

Amazing food, giant burrito and amazing queso dip. Staff were friendly. Fun time with the family, and got to see a badass cowboy painting.

Visiting this restaurant on Cinco de Mayo was probably not the smartest choice but was still a great time in the end. First time ever eating an entire fried fish and I loved it. The margaritas were also amazing!

I travel the country often and have been to Mexico twice. I love Mexican food and eat it often, this place is hands down the best of them all. The chips are uniquely flaky and the salsa looks average but packs a flavor punch like no others. The Alambre dinner is so amazing you can't put it into words, easily the best Mexican dish I have ever had. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Great job to all of the staff here, everyone was hustling, basically doing the job of double the staff at any other average restaurant. Our daughter goes to UC, we are from Northern Ohio. I can't wait to come back!

Definitely the best Mexican food I’ve ever had!! The Birria was amazing, we tried it in a burrito and taco. Also got some enchiladas. Amazinggg!! Service was also amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed.

We came here for lunch and ordered a few things. We ordered the Barrila tacos, chicken tacos, chicken Torta (Sandwhich) and a Enchilada. All were great. I wish they had the soup where you dip the tacos but they did not have it at the time. The staff was very friendly and the food came very fast. The place is family friendly and has tons of parking. I would come here again.

Whew! The tequila bar alone will have you elated you took a break from your social media, work, kid and who knows what else day! Oscar blessed each of us with a shot of Peligroso Tequila, followed by several authentic tacos made from scratch! Once I walked out this place I knew I found a hidden gem! There is a full bar with addition seating in he rear! The bathrooms are clean AF, the staff are friendly and attentive, the food is NOT basic AF! This is a must go! Plenty of free parking around (check the lots)! I hope you enjoy!
