York Street

This place is absolutely charming. The staff are incredibly warm and accommodating. But what I cannot get over is how incredible the food is!! My boyfriend and I each agree that this is the best New York strip we’ve had in a long time. The prices are so reasonable and the cut of meat was such quality that every bite was great, not too fatty and no gristle present. The only thing was the wing back chairs are cute but admittedly hard to eat in. Everything else was perfect!

Bobby is WONDERFUL! Please take the experience and go just to see him! He made dinner so enjoyable. 10/10 would highly recommend going. I’ve been multiple times and this was by far my favorite experience to date. Key Lime Pie was the best version I have ever had, thank you all so much!

Celebrated the beginning of our vacation. Delicious food! Great service! Bobby was a very responsive and engaging server. He shared a travel app with us and the 3 of us talked about upcoming trips.

My mom,daughter and I were wanting lunch and couldn’t find anywhere to eat! We ended up finding York Street Cafe and they sat us at a very cute table with the best music! Our server Bobby was absolutely darling and gave us a wonderful dinning experience! 1000 compliments to the chef Josh as the food was so delicious !!! Bobby told us he was only 22! Which is amazing to eat food from such a young talented chef! If you and your family or friends are looking for a good time, service and food come to York Street Cafe! I’m more than positive all the servers are great, but we loved Bobby’s service and Josh’s cooking (:

What a great experience! First attempt at dining at York Street was a bust, but the Manager, Billy, invited us back for a second dining opportunity and did not disappoint!

Bobby was our server and we had outstanding service, from the eclectic atmosphere to the wonderful meal...it was perfection!

My friend and I visited York Street (again!) on 8/17/23. We both had the herb crusted pork roulade, shared the Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese, and finished off with the peanut butter pie. The food was excellent as always (as were the cocktails). Bobby was our waiter and he is fantastic! He took great care of us and made great recommendations. Will definitely return!!

I had a wonderful experience. Our waiter Bobby was outstanding and chef Josh's food was to die for. We even got the best cake for dessert. All in all, beautiful place, great service and wonderful food. Absolutly worth the 45 min drive for our anniversary dinner.

Greeted by the owner upon arrival. Flowers on the table for my birthday. A birthday card signed by the staff. An excellent waitress Trinity who was personable and knowledgable about the history of the restaurant and eager to share. Excellent drinks, appetizers, dinner and desserts. I highly recommend. Great value. Can’t wait to go back. Can’t wait to bring the family.

What a fun, historical & eclectic local Newport spot! Impeccable dining experience. I can guarantee anything you order off the menu is a good choice. We had a warm & entertaining service from Trinity ❤🙂. I can’t wait to go back to try every dessert and get another Martini.

My husband and I got married via civil ceremony last fall. That evening, we went to York Street to celebrate together. We told Bobby (our waiter) the news and he could tell we were very excited. He shared the news with the owner who then came out to congratulate us with a bottle of champagne. We received such friendly, heartfelt service from Bobby and the staff. Dinner that evening, the day we were married, is a cherished memory that my husband and I will have for a lifetime. In addition to the staff being incredible, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect. ❤

Some friends and I recently had dinner at York Street Cafe and had a great experience! For sure the highlight of our experience was our server, Bobby! He was fantastic! He gave us the history of the building and even took us on a little tour to see all the fun historical items and upstairs event space/bar.
The atmosphere was also so fun! You can truly feel the history while you’re inside - you just have to go to see for yourself!
The food was very good - the Cesaer Salad with side of anchovies was amazing!! We all really enjoyed our steaks as well. I will say that the price point is higher than I was expecting. The food was all tasty but I’m not sure the steak was of the same quality or preparation as you’d get at one of the upscale steakhouses in the city. Overall though our experience was fantastic and I think we all would say we’d be back!
And we'll definitely be asking for Bobby when we go!

It is a beautiful establishment. Very very friendly. Make you feel like your family Bobby was our server. He was amazing. He’s like a god to me. If you dine in with this beautiful business have Bobby as your server he’s awesome I had a wonderful time. Me and my loved one got out of the house to enjoy ourselves after a loss that we had, this place made us feel very special

First timers to this quaint, unique restaurant. The owner, Billy, called us prior to our reservation to welcome us and make sure they had everything in order to ensure our experience was the best it could be. Nice touch! The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was delicious and perfectly prepared and the service by our waitress Genesis, was as good as it gets. She even gave us a little history lesson about the building during its heyday. Thank you!

Tonight was our first time at York Street Cafe' and we were so impressed! My cobb salad wasn't that exciting as an entree' but my husband's pork chop was one of the best we've ever tasted! Our server, Judith, was great, the music was on point - we look forward to going again soon!

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary dinner at York Street prior to heading to a show. The food was absolutely delicious (melt in your mouth Filet Mignon with wonderful sides), but the service was even more exceptional. From being greeted personally by the restaurant owner, to getting a tour of this historic building and wonderful personal service by Bobby, to the unique environment of it all, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and plan on making the 130-mile trip again! Thank you to everyone at York Street for making our celebration so very special.

Wonderful restaurant experience. Our server, Bobby, was an absolute delight; charming, attentive, offered great recommendations, and gave us a rundown on the history of the building and restaurant. The space is beautiful. All the food was delicious, my personal highlights being the craft cocktails and the butter rum cake. Can’t wait to go back!

The food was delicious and they were very accommodating for any dietary restrictions. Our waitress Cheryl was great she gave us great intel on the menu.

Our first time here, outstanding from start to finish and even before.
We had a reservation, and we got a call from the owner, Billy, welcoming us for later that evening, did we have any special requests , a very pleasant and frankly wonderful touch.
Our food was well prepared and delicious, my blackened swordfish with a Pineapple creamy “sauce”, was extraordinary. The signature cocktails were a hit around the table. Our server, Genesis, was delightful, professional, very friendly, well versed on the menu, the history, the food preparation and anything we asked she answered with a smile. Desserts were amazing , perhaps the best Key Lime pie I have had since my very first slice in the actual Florida Keys in 1975- and I have had a lot of slices in 48 years…
We will definitely return.

My family and I were recently at York Street Cafe for brunch and had a wonderful time! We've been there for dinner before, but had never tried their brunch, and I'm so happy we did. It was gorgeous outside so we opted for the patio seating. It was so peaceful and relaxing out there. They even had umbrellas for the tables in case the sunbeam became too much. Sam was our server and he did an outstanding job. He helped recommend drinks and dishes that catered to our typical tastes and he did a fantastic job! I don't drink, but he happily offered a mimosa style mocktail for me to enjoy with my brunch and it was perfect! We started off with their highly recommended home fries and they were delicious. I could eat my weight in those. The portion is smaller so Sam suggested we order 2 since there were 4 of us, which worked perfectly. I ended up ordering the brunch platter for 2 since it runs a little small. It consisted of scrambled eggs, 4 pieces of bacon, 4 pieces of French toast (which I substituted for 4 pancakes), and seasonal fresh fruit that was perfectly ripe. My family members enjoyed the Eggs Bendict, Shrimp & Gritts, and Steak & Eggs dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them. I ended up taking home a piece of their Key Lime pie and it was amazing. It was literally a slice of summer in a pie with the perfect amount of tartness. To top it all off, all the staff signed a card for me since I was there celebrating my birthday. It was the sweetest thing and really touched my heart. I've never had a restaurant do that for me before. Overall, it was an absolutely wonderful experience and I look forward to going back there many times in the near future. Thank you to our server Sam and all the York Street staff for such a wonderful birthday brunch!!

So glad we found this place. Everything was perfect. Our server, Bobby, was charming. And the Last Dram is possibly the best cocktail I've ever had. Lovely place.
