Who would have known while traveling from out of state and making a simple reservation via text, my husband and I, along with another couple, would stumble upon this amazing bar and end up friends with the owners by the end of the evening. Pete and Kim were so very warm and welcoming. Their bottle collection of bourbon was beyond impressive. Pete’s vast knowledge of the history of the area and bourbon in general was outstanding. Definitely get the brownies. We had such an amazing evening, we returned the next night for a second visit, and had just as awesome of an experience. The servers were so warm and friendly as well. The charcuterie was fabulous. Do yourself a favor and try this place out!

This place is simply the best! Pete, Kim, & the rest of the staff are so friendly. Pete has so much knowledge he’s willing to share about bourbon in general and the local area in particular. Needless to say the selection of bourbons is unreal. Literally almost anything you want from Jim Beam White to all the Pappy’s, Willet Purple Tops, and everything in between. Don’t sleep on the food either. The brownies & charcuterie board are also both amazing.

If you enjoy bourbon and are in the Newport Kentucky area on a weekend, this place is a must. Heck, if you enjoy bourbon and aren't in the area, make a trip of it. Do get reservations as from what I gathered the bourbon bar is only open 10 hours a week (Friday and Saturday 6-11 PM). Peter is awesome and the collection he maintains and shares (at appropriate prices) is quite literally the best in the world. He can also share some bourbon history and bourbon is in his blood (even when he's not been drinking - ask him about it). What an experience.

By far one of the best bars in northern Kentucky. Everything from the bourbon selection to the friendliness of the employees and atmosphere were incredible. Fair prices on some of the rare bourbons and they had a shelf of bourbon bottles for sale as well. They have limited space and limited hours as well so be sure to call ahead for a reservation if you want to guarantee a table. This is a can't miss!

Prohibition Bourbon Bar is, hands down, a must visit. Totally unparalleled, and was the highlight of our trip - so much so that we canceled other plans to make sure we could return for a second night. Kim and Pete are two of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and their staff is just as lovely. Their bourbon knowledge and selection simply cannot be beat, the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, and the conversations we were able to enjoy with Pete, Kim, the waitresses, and even some of their regulars we were introduced to makes me sad we’re too far away to be regulars. Oh, and make sure you ask about their coffee and baked goods - Pete’s brownies? Out of this world!

If you have ever researched a "Speak Easy" then this i was establishment is the definition.
Very knowledgeable servers that will ask you questions to fit the bourbon to your taste. An amazing group.

Amazing bourbon selection. Great outside patio. A must stop for people into bourbon. Basil Hayden smoked bourbon is great.

Prohibition Bourbon Bar is an outstanding place with a cool vibe boasting over 2800 whiskeys in the building (only room for ~800 on display). Pete and his wife are a friendly wealth of knowledge. Pete, a lawyer by day and owner/bartender by night, can recommend anything on the shelf based on what you like or what you want to try. Fair prices on some hard to find bourbons and a great place to go if you want to try a flight of something new or unique.

I love this place. The selection is wonderful. Pete, Kim and the staff are wonderful people. Reservations are needed for staffing purposes and understandable. Call ahead; they are great at getting back to you. A great experience every time. My only beef is one most people will disagree with me about: Every time I'm there, there's a lot of Frank Sinatra in the background. I get it, Rat Pack etc., Not a fan of his. Mix it up a little bit. Can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderful Friday evening at the Prohibition Bar. Leading up to our reservation, I communicated with Kim via text, and she was just as delightful in person! Pete, behind the bar, and our waitress, Tina, were also so kind. It’s clear they all know what they’re doing!

If you’re looking for a spot for a drink, a delicious charcuterie board, or just a spot that is very hospitable, check them out (and get the whiskey sour)!

Kim & Peter are great. They provide an amazing atmosphere and the biggest bourbon selection in the area. This is a must stop!

One of a kind. Kim and Peter are some of the best hosts anywhere. This small bourbon bar features some of the most eclectic bourbon in one location you’ll ever find. Your hosts can talk to you for hours about bourbon and still leave you wanting more. Always a pleasure visiting this place.

We came here years ago but the place is unforgettable. The owner had a brother or cousin who lived in Toronto for a few years and made us feel right at home. Owner asked me what kind of palette I had had and he gave me and Alabama Bourbon that was unbelievable. We will be back

Great bourbon bar! Their specials were phenomenal. I went there with friends to kick off a bachelor party. The owner was kind enough to come introduce himself to our table and give us all generous pour of Pappy 10yr for FREE!

Just had such an amazing time with Kim and Peter! Wish we could have stayed longer. Amazing collection to bourbon, great people, wonderful experience! Can’t wait to visit again!

Best bourbon bar ever, not crowded even for a Friday night. The owner Steven is a class act and super knowledgeable and a great host, best bartender I've ever come across. Exceedingly comfortable atmosphere and you feel welcome once you walk in the door. Whether you're a curious novice or an expert on bourbon you'll feel welcome. Highly recommended

This place is a gem!!! The owner and bartender Peter is absolutely the most knowledgeable whisky aficionado in all of Cinci/N Ky. If you love whisky then you have to add Prohibition Bar on your list. He has 1500 whisky's...I mean you literally can't go wrong!

Amazing place. They are closed most holiday weekends and during the week, but if you find a time to go it's a must. Absolutely incredible selection, service and prices. It has a very friendly atmosphere. Tried the KY specialty flight and it was a great suggestion. I loved everything! Incredible that the proceeds go to helping animals (SAAP I believe). The owners are one of a kind and just the most friendly people you will meet!
